There's something about novelty that allows for more grace. Sunglow's novelty is their pickle and pinto bean pies, which everyone talks about. Love it or hate it, everyone is curious and wants to give it a try. So they flock to Bicknell for the experience. Because of that, I believe, this restaurant has maintained a level of popularity that it otherwise might not have. Don't get me wrong, it's not a terrible place; it's a-ok. But it is definitely carried by the pie. Our food was fine, but after finishing up, we quickly pivoted to the reason we came. I didn't go for the pinto bean, only the pickle (and my wife ordered a slice of cherry to ensure we had something tasty if the pickle pie was gross). Well, let me tell you what, that pickle pie wasn't half bad! It was surprisingly very sweet and tart with a little crunch to it. Sure, the green color is off putting, but it's very similar to pumpkin pie-with pickles. I have to say, it's worth a visit.

This is a great casual place to stop for lunch! Our server Danielle was very friendly and attentive, even after a huge group came in. We received food quickly. The food is basic but solid and good. They have gluten free buns! The highlight of course of their pie- I tried the buttermilk because you don't often see it offered. It was so good I'm hoping to stop here again on my way home! The interior is clean, spacious, possibly remodeled recently.

We HAD to stop while in the area on vacation after we found out about their "most interesting" pies! Loved the sampler of Pickle Pie, Oatmeal Pie, Pinto Bean Pie and Buttermilk Pie. All 4 us liked them better than we thought we would. Delicious! Even came back for a pie to take home frozen to share. The sampler was under $10, and well worth it! We also bought one of their mini coconut cream pies, and it was one of the best we've ever had! So worth a stop for both their interesting pies, and common pies. Delicious!

    Special of the Day

I had their chicken salad of the day. Delicious chicken on a bed of arugula, with tomato and cheese. The perfect amount of balsamic dressing drizzled on top for me. Our server, Marvin, was prompt and had a good sense of humor too.

    Pie sampler

We had an incredible burger with salad and onion rings, chicken fried steak but the best part was the incredible pie sampler! Loved the pinto bean and pickle pies but all were homemade and delicious!

Not quite a review, but we came here on the way home from Capitol Reef and we're excited for the famous pinto bean pies! The hours listed on Google Maps and Yelp, as well as a printed menu in our motel listed the hours of 8 am - 8 pm. Sadly once we arrived, hungry and ready to eat at 8.30 am, the hours listed said 11 am - 8 pm. Such a bummer! Please update your hours!

First time I've had coconut cream pie with no coconut and banana cream pie with no bananas. Very expensive individual pie!

Staying in Bicknell after visiting Capitol Reef National park and needed a place to eat dinner…read more This place had lots of positive reviews so this was our choice. Wow! Reviews didn't lie! It's located in Torrey- you can spot the gravel parking lot with lots of cars in front. In fact we actually didn't see the restaurant because there were 2 rows of cars parked in front-a good sign! The menu was varied- from pizza ( more about that later), steak, salads, sandwiches, trout, mexican food. Good selection of alcoholic drinks, beer and soft drinks and even ice cream floats. The meals came with a choice of salad or soup and choice of baked or mashed potato, fries or vegetables. I ordered the steak sandwich which was strips of steak with grilled vegetables -onions and peppers, cheese and a spread of guacamole. It was served on crusty ciabatta bread. I asked for no added salt on the steak and they graciously accommodated me. It was nicely seasoned and didn't need the extra salt. The meat was nice and tender. Hubby ordered the starter dish taco (2) and it had a large piece of battered fried fish. It was crispy and moist. It could be an entree! I saw other diners order the burger and it was thick and large. Another party ordered the large pizza- let me tell you it was huge-almost big as a lazy susan. It could easily feed four or more. And the price was so reasonable- $23 for the premium pizza and $22 for the others. Looking around, all the meals that came out were generously portioned. No wonder the place was full! In spite of the steady flow of customers, the staff was very friendly and helpful and came by to refill waters. We didn't have to wait too long for the food in spite of the busyness. For those wanting a good meal after a day in the park, come here!

I pass through Panguitch on road trips and occasionally stay the night, it's an adorable, family oriented, quaint town surrounded by some of the most beautiful mountain sights- and the coffee makes it even better. The Pink Starburst Lotus was absolutely delicious, I wish I could have it every day. Get a Kolache while you're at it, such a cool thing to pair with the yummy drinks! The baristas here were all very kind, took the time to chat with me while they prepared my order, and even had some treats for my dog! I cannot wait to visit again.

I like that they had a good variety of drinks, plus some food - kolaches in particular caught my eye, haven't been able to find those outside of Texas! The sausage breakfast kolache was a good choice, they also have sweet options and energy balls, pastries, etc. A friend got their donuts and raved about how good they were, and served warm. I got one of their specialty lattes with honey and cinnamon - can't remember the name but it's a separate paper menu you'll have to ask for. They do use Torani syrups and have a few different milks available.
