Holy cow I can't believe I haven't left the review here yet! Having a great auto mechanic is critical for me and my business. I need to be able to diagnose whatever the problem is and get it fixed so I can get back on the road and get my work done as quick as possible. That's the main reason why I come to Sunland. Scott was great I went in about an hour and a half before they closed because my AC in my truck wasn't working. They were really busy so I didn't expect to have any service done today but Scott said he would take care of me anyways. Most honest and reliable car shop I have ever been to. They don't take advantage of people and you know they're great because there are a ton of costumers there & you will need an appointment, even for just an oil change. Tom, the front desk, is always friendly & communicates with us. If you have stupid questions, they don't try to up-sell you, they just tell you what you need to do for your car. I just want to say "How upset" I am...TO NOT HAVE FOUND these guys sooner. Scott and Chuck re class act individuals that have their customer's interest at heart. I brought mi wive's Pathfinder In because it was overheating and they did a thorough check and found that at some point after market thermostat had been installed on the vehicle. They did not update me with other nonsense like the "Chain" guys typically do. In addition, my wife just this week had the "Check Engine Light" come on. Hey did a courtesy check and found that the system had a hiccup and the light came on. They reset the system and my wife was on her way within minutes. THANK YOU VERY MUCH GENTLEMEN. My wife was afraid she'd get a long technical Speach on l sorts of repairs that "were needed" only to be pleasantly surprised with an honest..."No worries Mam... it was just a Fluke"... Today I was shopping around Mesa and decided that I could no longer take the screeching sound coming from my brakes so I decided to search for an automotive repair shop around the area. I saw all of the great reviews that Sunland had and decided to call and see if they could fit me in their schedule. Bob answered the phone, gave me an estimate and let me know that if I came in right away I would be out the door by 5! (I had a doctors appointment at 530) When I got there, Bob greeted and introduced himself. He then asked if I needed a ride anywhere while they were working on my car. Since I live in Scottsdale I waited at the shop. If I lived closer this would have been great and convenient (they will also pick you up when they are done if you don't have a ride back). Turns out that my brake pads were screeching because they were not the best quality and had about 1000 more miles to go before I needed to replace them. Bob was completely honest and let me know that all I really needed was an adjustment on my rear brakes and that I could wait a little longer before changing my front ones. This is RARE with any automotive shop. You can tell that they sincerely care about their customers and are not trying to take advantage of you. I decided to go ahead with the brake change just because I couldn't handle the screeching noise and wanted better quality brake pads put in. Ended up getting out the door by 3 instead of 5 and the price was extremely reasonable! At least $70 less than 3 other automotive shops that I called. When I left, Bob thanked me again for coming in and let me know to call if there were any other issues. Best experience taking my car in for a repair. I will definitely drive the 30 minutes from my house to go back to Sunland for my next repair! read more

How many times have you brought your vehicle into an Auto Shop and you just get this uneasy feeling of dread and remorse. I did... everytime- UNTIL I followed a friend's advice and brought my car into Sunland Auto in Mesa. This is the one and only auto service I can recommend without any doubt, whatsoever. From the owner, who answers the phone when you call, to the guy who drives you home while they work on your car- you can count on friendly, professional and HONEST service. I have brought my Toyota in a couple of times now for random engine light warnings. Each time, I was given an assurance that I have done the right thing and that the service I receive is valid (needed) and priced fairly. At Sunland Auto, I trust the estimation of the price quotes and the estimated amount of time for the repair to be as accurate as possible. I know that my car will be running more efficiently after-wards and that my money was well spent. I trust that the mechanics, here, are going to do a solid and professional job repairing and maintaining my vehicle to safe and dependable conditions. It is almost guaranteed that if you are in the shop for 10 minutes or more, you will hear some random customer bestowing compliments and accolades about the service without being asked! I recently went to Sunland Auto Service for a transmission issue. I got a quote from another place, then, when I had the money for the repair a month later, the original place raised the price by $400! That was enough for me to look for another "car guy". I turned to Yelp for the best, and I found them. Bob and his crew not only re-checked the problem and gave me a 2nd opinion, they charged me less than I expected. I needed a transmission re-build, and Bob was even awesome enough to work with me on a payment plan. He treated me fairly, kindly, honestly, and trusted me to pay him back with just a handshake and my word. I will be back to Sunland if I have any future repair needs. The best Auto Service in Mesa, Mechanics that know all makes and model. I took my BMW to them after an inspection was done by Chapman BMW with a list of repairs needed. Had them check the list. The work needed to be done, but the price was a third of what Chapman was charging. Scott the owner is always there to personally take care of you, his service write's are the best, and technicians that know what they are doing the best you could hope for in automotive service. No Coronavirus Measures - I've used this place for years, and they are honest, reasonable, and dependable. BUT - when I was there today, no one was wearing masks nor practicing social distancing. They were acting like the coronavirus does not exist. This is a small place. People entering the office walk through the small waiting room. It's impossible for people in the waiting room to avoid the foot traffic coming through the office, and vice-versa. I saw the owner, Scott, hug a long-time customer, neither of them wearing masks. We discovered Sunland when our teenage daughter's transmission went out. We don't live in the Phoenix area so we didn't have anyone to send her to. We have twin girls, 20 years old, they take their cars to Sunland for oil changes, emergency alternator once and the transmission replacement. I brought my car in for a "second" opinion on the exhaust. I was told by the dealer, it would need a whole new exhaust system, which would cost a lot of money.
