I had a very disappointing experience with Sunland Tire off Bonita in La Verne. I brought in my 2023 GMC Denali for a new tire replacement, and immediately after their service, the front left tire pressure sensor stopped working. I never had any sensor issues before they worked on my truck. When I brought the issue up, they wanted to charge me $140+ to replace that sensor and recalibrate the others. That's unacceptable considering the problem started right after their service. What made the experience even worse was the manager's confrontational attitude. Instead of trying to help resolve the issue professionally, he actually dared me to leave a review. Based on how I was treated, I do not recommend this business for any automotive repairs. I went to this location in Covina because I did carefore my experience in LA verne. However from the moment I walked in the energy and authenticity was there. I had bought a Groupon and couldn't use it because I had bought one before. Nevertheless Matin, Daniel, Tony made my experience great they where all so helpful and informative and friendly and when above the normal level that a sing women gets at a auto shop. I felt seen and the went above the normal and even honored the Groupon price and did a little extra for me. All in all I will definitely will be going back and would recommend going there. Got a quote for 4 tires out at $173/ea and they sold me ties for $203/ea and gave me the dumb look like "oh but we already mounted them" then complained about how they f'd up. I brought in my Truck for new tires and an oil change. I'll start off by saying I was a Diesel Mechanic for years and normally I do my own oil changes and figured since the tires are getting put on I'll get the oil changed as well. Big mistake on my part. Why 1 star. I went to pick up got there earlier than they told me it would be done. I got there just in time to see the mechanic in my truck go flying into the street and back into the parking lot and up on to the rack to do the alignment. That's not how you treat customers vehicles. Second thing I get home with my truck park it and by dinner time as I was walking by I seen oil on my driveway. So I slide underneath and there was oil dripping from my skid plate. Remember you this truck is only driven when I'm going on trips and since I had the truck serviced by Sunland I have put on maybe two miles and it was serviced October 3rd and today is October 22nd. I looked last night seen more oil under my truck and just spent a while under my truck trying to clean the oil out of all the areas they didn't clean up after themselves. These mechanics they have are unprofessional and should be fired. They have NO PRIDE in their work!!!! I WON'T be going back to them not even for the free tire rotation. I'll do it myself at least then I'll know it is done right and professionally. read more

Run, don't walk away from this place! I came here for an oil change through a Groupon and after my mechanic did a complete check-up on my vehicle, found that the oil pan had been damaged from some idiot putting in the bolt completely wrong. He said it looked like they used one of those air tools to force it in, causing damage to the bolt to where it did not seal against the pan, causing oil to leak. I had to pay over $600.00 to get this fixed, and when we talked to the manager at Sunland, he said that there was a notation in the work order about the pan being damaged - which they NEVER told me and they never provided a copy of the work order at that time. This place is shady and dishonest - go somewhere else! read more

BEWARE. Check your tires before you leave the lot. Picked up my vehicle after getting work done and after driving away, less an a mile, there was a problem with a tire. Immediately I went back and asked for them to take a look and I had a huge bolt in my tire! Mysteriously he went directly to the tire with the bolt, hmmmm. This is actually the 3rd time I have had an identical bolt in a tire after leaving their shop. They are either extremely careless about leaving stuff laying around or they do it on purpose so that they can add a new tire to the invoice. read more

I came in because my wheel had popped, and some of my lug nuts couldn't be removed due to them being stripped. The guy working on my car had taken an hour or so on my car and I had left it over night because I couldn't take it anywhere. I came in early the next day because I have a buddy who said that he could remove it and when I get there my car was up in the lift, so I asked the mechanic to bring it down so I can just take it. They charged me 160 so they could drill a hole into my screw, that I will now have to replace, and when my buddy got to me, he had taken off the nut in less than 10 minutes. He didn't do it with any machines, just his wrench and his arms. I went back to tell them that paying 160 to drill a hole was 1) completely unnecessary 2) a stupid price for me to pay for something that had no result and now I will have to replace. The guy later claimed that he had the nut remover piece in order to take off the nut, and that he was about to use it. But speaking of unnecessary things, my question is, why was my car up in the air? My buddy had no problem taking it off in the ground. My buddy had said that the only reason they couldn't take it off in the first place, was because they didn't have the proper tools, because drilling a hole wasn't necessary. He is also a mechanic, so take that as you will. All I know, is I'd rather just wait for my buddy to get off of work to come look at my car, rather than bring it here. read more

Here is why: - After paying $155 for a diagnostic, he provided an estimate that I sensed was too high and when I began to try to understand the breakdown, he became annoyed, and the numbers he provided did not make sense to me. - When I arrived to pick up the car, he did attempt to work the numbers to lower the price, but I was still feeling gouged and needed to see where the money was going via a breakdown. He showed it on the counter, then put it away out of sight. - Diagnostic was provided verbally, but he refused to give me the breakdown because he accused me of intending to go price shopping. I retorted that I felt he was gouging me. I wish I had the detailed breakdown in front of me, but I *think* he said each coil was $187. If you're gonna be expensive or at the top of the cost bracket you better be good. I live locally and would love to support local small business but the common consensus is that they're too expensive and don't do the best of work. Forgetting to put on an oil cap when your soul job was to just do an oil change is ridiculous. One time mistake?maybe... more than once is negligence. To patch a tire was like 35-40$. To do a basic alignment STARTED at 90$. If you join their club the prices come down to normal (still very high) prices. If this were my company I'd make some changes. The internet can make or break you and if they had some solid well rounded mechanics and fair prices with backed up solid work they would be much busier. Rather than trying to sell stuff just fix what people came in for and show them the "wrong" stuff you found. But you see if they create urgency then there's a need to to get it done ASAP. GREAT SERVICE! Ken really went the extra mile. I recently bought a car and purchased a tire protection plan. These warranties are valid for "any licensed mechanic." What they don't tell you about these warranties when you purchase them is that they do put a burden on the mechanic in that there is a long phone call required for the mechanic while the warranty company collects all relevant information. This can be time consuming and a busy mechanic can easily just tell you they don't have time to go through the hassle. Ken did go through this process and now my bad tire has been replaced. All I had to pay was the recycling fee (less than five bucks). I'll definitely be returning to Sunland! read more
