Vegetable Cheese Enchilada Plate (vegan option)
    Diana C.

Server was very kind and helpful. The staff were attentive and seem to really be integrated into the neighborhood. The vegan enchiladas were good and I loved how many of the items could be made vegan! It was a really chill and sunny place. The vibes were very fun and communal and I'd definitely come back!

    Their PEZ collection!

We came in as a party of two on Saturday at noon and were seated right away. I love their cozy atmosphere-they have fun art on the walls, cheerful colors, comfortable seating and friendly service. Fun fact that I did not know until this visit-they are the oldest vegetarian restaurant in all of Seattle, and they are happy to make their offerings vegan upon request! I enjoyed a latte and the Huevos Rancheros with tofu. The Huevos Rancheros used fresh ingredients-I do love avocado with everything, and the potatoes were well cooked. I would recommend getting the red AND green sauce with this-why choose between two good things? This was a hearty meal! I was unable to finish my plate but appreciate the generosity with the portion size. We split a Rhubarb crisp between ourselves (perfect blend of sweet and sour), and left with happy bellies. Can't wait to return.

    Humous Roll Up
    Alison B.

This place claims to be the oldest running vegetation restaurant in Seattle so I have been excited to try it. It's nestled on a residential street under an apartment building. It is usually busy for weekend brunch. I came mid week for lunch and there were just a few people in there. The staff was very unfriendly and it took over 10 minutes to take my order. It's also fairly pricey. I had a hummus roll up, which was tasty but basic. I just felt very uncomfortable in the restaurant for some reason. I might try it again but for now there's other options in the area with more enticing menus for the price.

    The Deluxe - loved!
    Kelcie Lei A.

I ordered The Deluxe, and I loved!! If you're into sour cream, guac, red/green sauce (I asked for both), cheese.. you'll love this! Flavors melded altogether, and it was so so good. You can choose for either black beans or home fries, and I asked for both too. Home fries were nicely seasoned. I wasn't able to finish my whole plate, so they definitely give a good portion! Service was great. Staff was attentive and nice. I came in on a Saturday morning, and it wasn't busy at all. Definitely a great find in Roosevelt, if you're looking for a delicious, filling meal and to get seated right away. Great ambiance. I would come back!

Euripedes breakfast with tofu + lemon poppy seed waffle
    Lana S.

Great breakfast/ brunch spot! I got the Euripedes, and subbed the tofu for eggs, my husband had the lemon poppyseed waffle. I also got the seasonal berry smoothie. Everything was delicious, filling, and fresh. The cafe is just the kind of funky neighborhood spot that I love. Service was friendly. Everything on the menu looked great so I'll be back soon to try more!

    Sauteed Veggies & Tofu

In a world where nothing is the same... It's nice to know you can still go to the Sunlight and order the Sauteed Veggies & Tofu with Lemon Tahini dressing. Life is that good~

    Huevos Picante

Love the ambiance of the place. It has a pretty chill vibe to it, showcasing art from a few local artists. The staff were very friendly, cheerful and accommodating. The service is great and the food was beyond our expectation. Loved the tempeh here. It's crisp on the outside and smooth inside. I am not a huge fan of tofu as it is more on the chewy side but i liked the tofu here. The green sauce is great and the sour cream was fresh. This is a vegetarian restaurant (egg included) and several of the items can be made vegan or dairy free upon request. Definitely coming back again here !

Ordered the deluxe with over medium eggs and green sauce on the side. I also asked for half beans and half homefries, which they accommodated without a problem. Service was good, coffee was great and refilled often. I haven't been here in years and remember why I liked it so much before! Used to get the vegan highlander. That was great too. Definitely worth it and will be back to show them some neighborly love more often!

    Vegan McKenna

Went on a Sunday morning around 10am and it was packed! There was a long line at the front but we were luckily able to sit at the bar with no wait. Overall, it's definitely a diner vibe. Food was hearty but overly salty and my clothes smelled like grease when I got home. It's a good size for the price and the coffee is...coffee. Would be great way to cure a hangover. At least there's a decent amount of vegan options!

Good service and attentive; however, not much available in the way of vegan food. Their attempt was futile and disgusting.

This particular location was pretty empty at 1:30pm, though it was a rainy Tuesday. The interior is clean and modern. Parking is hard to come by in the Fremont area, but we were able to find parking near the Fremont Troll. We ordered the Jalapeño Business Warm Bowl and the El Sombrero Salad with chicken. Jalapeño Business (4/5): I liked how unique this bowl was. The use of raw chopped jalapeños gives it a fiery kick, while the Tilllamook white cheddar adds a nutty and salty creaminess with a Pacific Northwest flair. The pickled red onions add the acidity, while the black beans, chicken, and jasmine rice provide the body to make this bowl quite filling. The warm chipotle sauce binds it all together with a smoky chipotle flavor -- but in the menu photos the sauce is a small drizzle over the top, while in my bowl the sauce was doused and inundated everywhere like a biblical flood of chipotle sauce. The bowl was still good, but the photos don't match what you get. El Sombrero Salad with chicken (3/5): This one is actually vegetarian so we added chicken for some protein. This one was pretty mid -- the roasted corn and raw chopped jalapeños were nice touches but the romaine didn't seem like the freshest, and the leaves were too cold like straight out the fridge. Overall, I think Evergreens is a decent choice for salads but Sweetgreen is still my gold standard.

Let me start off with how incredible the staff are at this place, it felt like being at your mother's home after a long semester in college, where not only does the food drown your sorrows, but the joy of Meg and Russ makes you walk out feeling refreshed and recovered from whatever life had thrown your way. Russ definitely makes the meanest latte while making muffled grunts, but hey he's a cool guy who will make way for a traveler to feel welcomed. After a long flight in I needed the jolt to make me feel like I was alive like the monster in Frankenstein. If anyone needs any other reason to go, the flapjacks alone are my favorite item. 100/10 would recommend. It was ironic because I don't even like autumn but this redefined my frontal cortex with how explosive the flavor of these are. The last time I was there Meg asked what I wanted and I said "basic breakky with bacon" and she looked at me up and down, almost threatening to kick me out for saying "the B word" and goes "boy the salt alone will kill you, we don't do that here" as she Z snaps me with an Attitude only a mother could provide to check you. . She did have ham, and I went on my merrily Monday through Friday way to cause menacing agendas in the Queen Anne hood. Just as a conclusion, eat here if you want to feel loved and cared for... One of the best places I've been to.

So I'm sad to see the decline in this establishment. Upon entering I immediately noticed the worn upholstery in the booths. A serious makeover is needed. So trashy. But I get it times are hard. My food arrived on a chipped plate - time to throw it away folks. The counter server was very friendly as normal so that's a definite plus. However the BLT I ordered looked like they threw all the ingredients on the toast with no real prep. The tomato jam was not jam but pieces huge chunks too big to eat. While I'm glad they aren't skimping on the ingredients it was piled so high that it was challenging to eat. I ended up eating it in pieces with my fork and as such lost the tastiness of a combination of the flavors as it quickly became a deconstructed mess. A huge plus - the Seattle Fog was probably the best "London" fog I've ever had !!! Bravo. Not sure I'll come back again this visit. They have so much outdoor seating, on both sides of the cafe, which I really like. Way more than downtown. Food came out super quick too. My go to order has always been the Mr Breakfast plate, it's super hearty and full of great breakfast foods. However, the price has increased exponentially and quality has definitely gone down. I used to pay around $15 for this plate and it included bacon and now it's $17 + an extra $4 to add 2 pieces of bacon. (The bacon is totally worth it though). The potatoes recipe need to be completely refined, or they need to offer a substitution option for them. They are overly soft and they don't have nearly enough seasoning. That was the only thing that remained on my plate when I was done! and the soft boiled egg tasted a little off to me, like it had been sitting for a bit long. Other than that, the Turkish eggs and chopped chicken salad were very fresh and good. Staff were super nice when ordering at the counter, coffees and pastries were good as well. Overall I will come back here, just would like to see some quality changes with the Mr Breakfast as it used to be very good.
