Finally popped in here to get a refreshing juice to boost my immune system. I added echinacea to the green juice (glow I think) and it was delicious. I chatted with the owner who was at the counter and she was super friendly! I also tried a freshly baked banana muffin (vegan and GF). Loved it! Can't wait to come back here to try some of their other food or smoothies. This is the perfect spot if you are looking for something healthy or just a quick drink to take on the go.

Super cute vegan Café. Excellent service.super yum juice. Pet friendly! Will be back.

New all-vegan spot just off Shilsole, not far from Market St. They offer healthier vegan food, by way of sandwiches, salads, smoothies, and juices. I stopped in before close, looking for a snack, and ordered the faux tuna salad ($12.50++). The faux tuna contains with chickpeas, celery, carrots, onion, seaweed, sunflower seeds and vegan mayo; and that is served on top of a bed of mixed greens, cherry tomatoes and cucumber. The faux tuna salad was quite solid -- good textures, nicely balanced flavours, though maybe missing a little something to be truly sensational. Lots of greens and fresh tomatoes, which was appreciated. Prices are reasonable, and portions are on the large side (at least as judged by my salad) -- good value for money. I wish they'd drop the organic thing, as I prefer not to pay extra for something that is actually worse for the environment and no healthier than standard food. Oh well. Overall, great spot. I will return next time I'm in Seattle.

Faux Tuna Salad Sandwich yummy! Next time I'll spring for adding avocado

Excellent food service and ambiance - tucked in the corner of the corner of 22nd and Shilshole in Ballard - it's a gem!

Adorable tiny vegan spot in Ballard. Parking can be a bit tricky but we got lucky and found a spot on the street nearby during the Farmer's Market hours. We ordered a couple of smoothies, the tempeh sandwich, and PB&J for our son. Our picky toddler loved the PB&J and there was plenty leftover to take to go. Tempeh sandwich was very fresh and filling, the bread was so delicious! The smoothies were much less sweet than I expected. My taste buds adjusted and it tasted healthy rather than overly filling which some smoothies tend to be. The owner / employees were SO kind and helpful. Everything was compostable. Highly recommend supporting this local vegan business

The service was great, the baristas were super friendly and accommodating. The green juice was delicious, as well as the chocolate iced coffee coconut situation. Would love to come back and try more drinks and food!

    Go green juice!

So happy this spot opened up! Seattle needed a new healthy organic food spot and this place didn't disappoint. They have unique smoothie and juice flavors and my vegan tuna sandwich was so fresh and flavorful, even the bread itself tasted incredibly fresh. Definitely going to be a go-to spot. Can't wait to try some of the other items on the menu next time!

Fresh high quality ingredients, whole grains, unique lattes (no sugar syrups) sweetened with dates, open airy cafe with indoor and outdoor seating, plant filled patio hidden from traffic, bike parking on street corner, all compostable plates, forks, cups for a zero waste meal. Perfect lunch stop after a long bike ride. We were able to leave our bike on the patio within view while eating inside. We had the vegan "tuna"sandwich and tempeh sandwich both very flavorful. I had to save half for dinner as the portion was large, but my husband was able to eat the whole sandwich. We also split the Oats & Figs Cookie smoothie and it tasted just like an oatmeal cookie. Also enjoyed the dense moist banana nut muffin. A delicious hearty meal that left us feeling good afterwards. Amazingly all the paper plates, plastic and cutlery is composted for a zero waste dinings experience. We would definitely return and hope they add a creamy mushroom soup for the fall season.

Go Green juice was very good! Usually with a green juice it's healthy but you maybe have to force yourself to drink it, not so with this, it was actually enjoyable Lol. Lots of neat stuff on the menu. I will be back to try more.

This spot is a little hidden gem! Healthy plant based juice and smoothies, salads and quick bites. And they sell plants! Can it get any better?! I asked the owner, who is lovely, what her favorite thing on the menu was and she said the Faux Tuna Salad with a house organic pickled beets! It was soooo good. I cannot wait to come back and try more. We tried some delicious smoothies too! The service was excellent. The owner is so sweet and I love the vibe inside! Very clean and modern with some cute earthy vibes! Just what Ballard needed!

My friend ordered the tomato feta toast and it took over 25 minutes when we were the only ones inside, then came out looking completely different and tasted gross, with soggy bread, missing the side salad. $16 with tip for that was unbelievable. They could have atleast cut it down the middle for us lol. I ordered the toasted banana chia pudding and they lost my order then it took 40 minutes, not even busy inside. The food itself was WAY overpriced and not good for a place that looked nice and pretty. It didn't have the advertised cashew butter and tasted like nothing at all, consisted of three total ingredients that should have cost $6 at most. Not sure where the "toasted" of toasted banana chia pudding went. Would not recommend, we wished we had gotten açaí bowls from a place nearby instead, they would have hit so much harder smh. Wasn't full after either. The woman serving us wasn't great. I haven't written a yelp review in a long time but thought this was worthy of my opinion.

It ended up being so tasty that I came here twice within a few days. The first visit, I got veggie tempura appetizer and chirashi rice bowl. A bit on the pricier side, I still wanted to give it a try. The veggie tempura are actually not separate pieces of vegetables in tempura, but kakiage (shredded veggies fried together) - still pretty good though. The chirashi rice bowl was fantastic - beautiful presentation as the fish came on the side, pretty fresh, and I appreciated the small details, like the wasabi stem inside the scallop and the shiso leaf/sprouts that accompanied the dish. The service was fantastic as well, considering I had a table for one during lunch hour. My second visit I was on the go, so I got the Classic sushi burrito, which again was maybe a little pricier than I would like, but it was worth it. Rice, fish/poke, crab mix, cucumber, avocado - it all mixed nicely wrapped within the rice paper outside, and was convenient to eat for takeout. Definitely recommend giving it a try if you're around the area and feel like treating yourself to more than a soup/salad/sandwich...

I am so grateful for my experience at Life On Mars. It turned out to be the highlight of a…read moretumultuous Seattle trip and I look back on it fondly. We came here mostly for one thing: I absolutely could not wait for their gluten-free vegan chick'n pot pie. A pie i'd been waiting months to try. A pie unlike any other pie. A pie that I still think about to this day. We walked straight into a Cardi B drag show. And by "walked into" I mean we opened the door and Hot Pink Shade sashayed right in front of us. It was exactly the kind of welcome we love. It was also the first green flag in a sea of green flags at Life On Mars. I could barely sit still as I waited to order my GF/VG pot pie. We got the drinks outta the way (a peach hard cider for me and a fancy-schmancy cocktail for the lady). I was positively GIDDY when Anna came to take our order and I blurted out chick'n pot pie excitedly. I nearly died when she said they didn't have any. Normally it wouldn't have been such a big deal, but I was from out of town and had literally been craving this damn pie for months! And I lied, I didn't nearly die but I DID nearly cry and that's almost as bad. Even the bestie lamented about what a let down this was. Anna. Dear, sweet Anna. We must have looked really hard up because this sweet baby angel offered to ask the cooks if they could whip one up special just for me. Let me tell you why this is a big deal: For one, she didn't need to do that. That's going above and beyond, and she was such a graceful little buttercup when she did it. Second, making a gluten free biscuit is a finicky, precise, detailed process. It sucks, honestly, and I don't blame them for not having them every day. I nearly cried when she came back and told us the cooks said YES. And this time i'm not lying. It was beyond the type of customer service i'm used to. It was.... humane. It was...empathetic. It was...totally first world problems but it meant so much to me! Especially since Anna said it had been a DAY and she was at her wits end. For her to have a rough day and still have the grace and compassion to make my stupid GF/VG chick'n pot pie dreams come true.....well, yeah, it made me a bit teary eyed. The pot pie was delicious, as expected. It was nostalgic and comforting, like a big hug in a bowl. The flavors were rich and deep, the biscuit soft and flaky; it was one of the most delicious things i've tasted on my GF/VEG journey. Between the food, the drinks, the customer service and the drag show......this was five stars all around. No doubt. I don't see the GF chick'n pot pie on their menu anymore. Maybe it's a seasonal thing? I hope it comes back, i'll be checking. And when it pops up again, so will I. Thank you, Anna. Thank you to the cooks on 2/19/26. Thank you to Hot Pink Shade, ISIS and King Leo Mane.

I went here on a Friday dinner, right after the dinner / pre-theater rush, as this place is right next to Paramount Theatre. I got the chicken schnitzel and the Practical Magic cocktail. The chicken schnitzel is quite lovely. The potato salad and the pickled cabbage can be a bit tangy but it cuts the fattiness of the chicken schnitzel. I also enjoyed the curry mustard that goes really well with the schnitzel. $32 is a little bit higher than what I would want to pay, but the quality is there. Practical Magic is quite a pretty cocktail - it has gold stars sprinkled on top. It is a more tart drink with beet and a smokiness from the mezcal. I enjoyed it When the bill came, it was quite an interesting check cover since it says Paybill instead of Playbill. Those theater booklets you get in Broadway shows. Service is pretty good. Thankfully they are open today on the Fourth of July (they will just close a little earlier for the holiday), and I was happy to see that not much has changed since my last visit. Without even realizing it, I ended up ordering the exact same drink I got the first time: a Matcha Float with mochi. I guess you really can't go wrong with it because it's still just as creamy and satisfying as I remembered. The only tiny downside is that it only comes with three small mochi balls, so for almost $9 I wish there were a few more. However, the quality of the matcha is consistently excellent, sooo I don't regret coming back. They have wonderful customer service too! The employee helping me at the register was incredibly patient while I stood there trying to decide what to order. As an awkward introvert, I always feel a little flustered when ordering, but she never made me feel rushed or uncomfortable. She asked my sweetness preference for the Matcha Float, whether I wanted to dine in or take everything to go, and even carefully packed up my yuzu green tea packet with the rest of my order. She was very kind and thoughtful so just wanna say I really appreciate how welcoming she was. Even from my last Seattle visit two years ago, I still remember the employees being helpful and friendly here. I also have to recommend their desserts from my previous visit. (I skipped the sweets this time due to my budget but I still suggest picking up some of their sweets!). The Matcha Basque Cheesecake and the Matcha Tiramisu were both absolutely delicious, and I still remember how amazing they tasted even two years later. The tiramisu is only around $7 and is definitely worth trying if you're a matcha lover. This visit, I picked up their yuzu green tea packet to take home (last time, I got the hojicha). Each packet contains 15 individual tea bags and costs about $10 (not bad for how much tea is in each tea bag). They also sell matcha powder and other tea goodies. I'm looking forward to brewing the yuzu green tea at home since a good cup of hot tea is always comforting, especially when I'm sick (I've been recovering from a cold so tea has been a lifesaver to warm me up!). I actually stopped by for lunch since I didn't eat breakfast, and ordered the Sukiyaki Don (it was much more satisfying than I expected). I was craving a beef bowl and Nana's was one of the few places in the area within walking distance from my work, that was actually open for the holiday today, lucky me! It came with miso soup and a soft-boiled egg, and I was pleasantly surprised to find tofu and mushrooms in the bowl alongside the beef. It left me FULL, my tummy happy, heck yeah. Costs almost $20 but worth satisfying a craving. I won't lie.. I somehow managed to spend about $40 today between my meal, drink, and tea to take home. More than I intended to spend but no regrets, because everything was delicious and the quality has remained consistently high over the years. The only thing that made my visit a little uncomfortable wasn't the café itself. There were quite a few homeless individuals lingering around the front of the building, so I decided against dining out front like I had originally planned since I wanted to enjoy the nice weather, but one of them was panhandling me so I promptly left (thankfully I asked for my order to be packaged for takeout). That's obviously outside of the café's control, and it didn't affect the food or service at all. They still had many seats available inside but probably because it's the holiday. If I recall, the place was packed during the afternoon when I last visited on a weekday. I will still say that Nana's Green Tea continues to be one of my favorite matcha spots whenever I'm in Seattle. Between the consistently high-quality matcha, delicious meals and desserts, excellent selection of teas to bring home, and genuinely exemplary customer service, it's a place I'll happily keep returning to whenever I'm back in town and have the time to visit.
