I'll start by saying the folks running it were super kind and the space was clean! This is a cafe with breakfast/brunch options, and the GF options were more limited. Friends said coffee was ok, the wife got a breakfast sandwich (served on a scone!) and something came over me and I ordered the salmon lox waffle. The lox and waffle were good. If I were to order it again (which I will likely not do) I would ask for no cream cheese and sauce on the side. If this seems like a place you want to go, by all means go! Where do I start with this gem of a amazing place! Yesterday was my first time entering this establishment. My friend invited me to lunch and man oh man was I impressed! Upon entry your instantly greeted with smiles and a friendly hello. The service was honestly 100/10! The ambiance is very chill and relaxing. They also have boars games you can play while sitting down. The food options are so awesome! Sweet or savory waffles, breakfast sammys, treats and Lebanese sammys and treats! I had a hummus and chicken wrap (omg sooo yummy and they make their own homemade hummus!) ans my friend had the garlic chicken sammy (omg soo bomb there was fries in this warm sammy!). My friend also had the peach lemonade (soo refreshing and not overly sweet) and I ordered a raspberry and peach Italian soda (sooo darn good). For a sweet treat to take home I got Baklava and it was also 10/10! Crunchy, great honey flavor, amazing pistachio flavor, ... also homemade. I have to update my review to express my undying love of Green Mountain olive oil, which the owner imports from his olive groves in Lebanon. I buy it by the jug (approx 3 liters). It has such a bright flavor and goes with everything. Insider tip: discount when you return the container. Also, I recently had the opportunity to try their self-made pistachio halvah. Typically, this dessert squeaks in your teeth, and any additions are just overpowered by the sesame flavor. This was absolutely delicious. The texture was firm, chewy, (no squeaks!) and the pistachios were plentiful and flavorful. My friend recommended drizzling carob molasses over it... complete game changer! Incredible flavor. Popped in for Mother's Day and to fill my craving for waffles. Street parking out front is super easy to snag if you're going first thing and theres a cute patio out front to sit with your pupper and enjoy your noms. Being preggo, I went with a smaller iced mocha and a traditional waffle. Hubs went with the combo and fresh orang juice....and a cookie because, why not?! Everything was delicious and truly hit my waffle craving-fluffy and light with delicious syrup! Service was very friendly and helpful. We were looking for a place open early since our baby was jet lagged. This was only spot open at 730am. Menu has your normal savory and sweet items especially waffles. I got the #3 combo underneath waffles which came with eggs, a waffle, and turkey bacon. My husband ended up getting the cheddar and egg on a scone and the scone was delicious. I love that they have their sandwiches on scones! I also liked that you can get full of half waffles. The carob latte was interesting though I don't know that it was my favorite personally. I'd probably try another unique house drink. The service was kind and helpful. I think they were maybe a bit understaffed with drinks as the food came out first. Can't fairly judge this place quite yet. We came for coffees and didn't order food which was probably a mistake. The food looked and smelled amazing (waffles came highly recommended after we left!). The coffee was fine, nothing special. The matcha was delicious. They have homemade syrups (we added vanilla to our matcha) and that was so good. We will need to come back for food. Cute little bakery and cafe that (thankfully) serves simple breakfast dishes up until they close (3pm on Sunday). We tried the filled waffle - called a Washington waffle - that has pastrami in the waffle batter, topped with cheese and fresh apple slices, served with apple butter on the side. There was too much cheese for us because we didn't eat it fast enough. Not a fan of coagulated cheese But overall tasted great. My partner thought it was a bit dry but that's because he loves syrup/sauce on his waffles. The lattes were OK. The Cardamom latte literally has a sprinkling of cardamom, so it wasn't as fragrant as I had hoped. Even with an extra dash of cardamom i would not order that one again. The peppermint mocha was delicious though. All in all, it's a good place to pick up a quick snack or breakfast bite but it doesn't make my "must bring out of town guests here" list. read more

Came here for a Sunday brunch after working out nearby. Been meaning to check it out for a while since it's not far from where I live. It is an unassuming cafe but has a good deal of food to choose from. There is a menu of coffee and a lot of tea as well. The menu items are mostly breakfast sandwiches and waffles. They even have savory waffles. I decided to try the labneh wrap with fried eggs as it was recommended and sounded like a unique dish. I like that there is a middle eastern influence here and some of the pastries sound enticing. Unfortunately I didn't love the wrap, mainly because it seemed a bit stale/dry and was not heated up at all. The filling was pretty good and I did like the combo of the eggs with the labneh. There was also some fresh tomatoes and arugula inside which was a nice touch. The service was decent although you have to pick up your food and bus the table yourself so it's not like a full service restaurant. Seeing all the Waffle options here, I always wanted to try Salt and Sugar. Came on a Saturday morning to finally try one and warm up with some coffee. Mornings definitely seem to be the busiest, with mostly with folks getting takeout coffee to go, but there were a number of folks like my party dining in. I got a Hot mocha to start which was good. They have two styles of waffle offerings - sweet and savory, hence the titular name of the cafe. I got the "Cobbler", a sweet waffle that had lots of fresh blueberries, streusel and whipped cream. It was quite good, not too crispy, but not too soft either. The savory waffles include options like the Hummingbird which is a waffle stuffed with spinach and goat cheese, topped with nuts or the BLT waffle which has of course bacon, tomato, cheese, with pesto and more. I like premise of being primarily a waffle spot and cafe. There are over well over 10 waffle styles and combinations to choose from. There isn't Waffle House out here, so this is the next best thing! read more

I only write this less than spectacular review because I no longer see the owner who I absolutely love. I ate here almost daily in the spring and summer of 2024, And the food, service and energy was second to none. Lina and Anna behind the counter were an absolute marvel. It seemed as soon as Lina Left, and the owner went to Lebanon, the place took a very bad turn for the worse. I recall seeing Anna over worked and under paid , and when I came and she wasn't working on certain days, the food was terrible and service was almost hostile. I don't know what happened, but I chose to not frequent the place nearly ever . Today I came in , ordered a small slice of quiche and an iced coffee, and spent 20dollars on it. It took them 30 minutes to reheat what appeared to be brought in quiche and burnt cold brew. By the time the food came , a family of 4 that ordered food that took actual kitchen work to make, was served well before me. The quiche was dry and the center was still cold. After about 8 minutes it was brought out to be burnt to a brown/black. I took it to the counter to show it was burnt and inedible and I that I needed a refund because I didn't have time to wait for another quiche. The server didn't apologize, got on the phone to the owner/manager and said a customer wanted a refund for a veggie quiche, not saying why. Over summer for a work trip, I walked in at lunchtime on my way back to where I stayed and ordered a chicken pesto sandwich with gluten free bread to take out. The cafe is lovely. With COVID going on, it was a bit sad to see empty seating except for one customer. Of course, wearing masks and distancing is required. Friendly services. Cashier also seemed a bit sad in the eyes when I asked how they were doing. I waited for what seemed a while for my order, but I did not mind looking at the art on the walls or just out the windows and thinking in the pleasant space. My sandwich was hearty with its marinated chicken, pesto, onions, artichoke hearts, swiss cheese, and some lettuce. The gluten free bread was pretty good. The cobbler waffle exceeded my expectation. I don't know what they did to the batter but the waffle was crunchy and it was just great! This place is so unique and I really wish they played up their Lebanese menu more because it's amazing and, for this area, super affordable. Super fresh too! One of the wraps I got I think was $9. I asked someone who used to work there why they only play up the more American menu they have and they told me it's because the current owners took over the business from people who had that menu first. Both were great! He also ordered a breakfast sandwich and enjoyed that thoroughly. The bread was more of a scone/biscuit and he thought that was different and tasty. I ordered the cinnamon toast which was the one negative. The toast was super thick with not enough topping. I like my cinnamon-sugar:bread ratio to be much heavier on the sweet stuff. I only had a bite and decided it wasn't worth the calories. Very sad. I had my heart set on enjoying that toast!
