Iced mocha, orange juice, and cookie
    Jessy P.

Popped in for Mother's Day and to fill my craving for waffles. Street parking out front is super easy to snag if you're going first thing and theres a cute patio out front to sit with your pupper and enjoy your noms. Being preggo, I went with a smaller iced mocha and a traditional waffle. Hubs went with the combo and fresh orang juice....and a cookie because, why not?! Everything was delicious and truly hit my waffle craving-fluffy and light with delicious syrup! Service was very friendly and helpful. Everything was super clean and made breakfast super enjoyable while being physically uncomfortable haha! We will definitely be back after baby girl arrives...though I may be sending hubs over for pickup!

Blueberry Lemon Scone and Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte

The cashier was very friendly and the atmosphere was cute. My Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte was very good. I would definitely recommend it. However, the scone was very dry. It did have good flavor though.

I love that they have their sandwiches on scones! I also liked that you can get full of half waffles. The carob latte was interesting though I don't know that it was my favorite personally. I'd probably try another unique house drink. The service was kind and helpful. I think they were maybe a bit understaffed with drinks as the food came out first. Very lovely ambiance and dog friendly which were awesome! We would certainly come back and I really want to try some of the lunch items!

    Washington Waffle Cardamom Latte

Cute little bakery and cafe that (thankfully) serves simple breakfast dishes up until they close (3pm on Sunday). We tried the filled waffle - called a Washington waffle - that has pastrami in the waffle batter, topped with cheese and fresh apple slices, served with apple butter on the side. There was too much cheese for us because we didn't eat it fast enough. Not a fan of coagulated cheese But overall tasted great. My partner thought it was a bit dry but that's because he loves syrup/sauce on his waffles. The lattes were OK. The Cardamom latte literally has a sprinkling of cardamom, so it wasn't as fragrant as I had hoped. Even with an extra dash of cardamom i would not order that one again. The peppermint mocha was delicious though. All in all, it's a good place to pick up a quick snack or breakfast bite but it doesn't make my "must bring out of town guests here" list.

    Homemade Labneh wrap

Came here for a Sunday brunch after working out nearby. Been meaning to check it out for a while since it's not far from where I live. It is an unassuming cafe but has a good deal of food to choose from. There is a menu of coffee and a lot of tea as well. The menu items are mostly breakfast sandwiches and waffles. They even have savory waffles. I decided to try the labneh wrap with fried eggs as it was recommended and sounded like a unique dish. I like that there is a middle eastern influence here and some of the pastries sound enticing. Unfortunately I didn't love the wrap, mainly because it seemed a bit stale/dry and was not heated up at all. The filling was pretty good and I did like the combo of the eggs with the labneh. There was also some fresh tomatoes and arugula inside which was a nice touch. The service was decent although you have to pick up your food and bus the table yourself so it's not like a full service restaurant. I would like to come back here to try the savory waffle possible or perhaps just a pastry and tea.

    8oz coffee mocha

Seeing all the Waffle options here, I always wanted to try Salt and Sugar. Came on a Saturday morning to finally try one and warm up with some coffee. Mornings definitely seem to be the busiest, with mostly with folks getting takeout coffee to go, but there were a number of folks like my party dining in. I got a Hot mocha to start which was good. They have two styles of waffle offerings - sweet and savory, hence the titular name of the cafe. I got the "Cobbler", a sweet waffle that had lots of fresh blueberries, streusel and whipped cream. It was quite good, not too crispy, but not too soft either. The savory waffles include options like the Hummingbird which is a waffle stuffed with spinach and goat cheese, topped with nuts or the BLT waffle which has of course bacon, tomato, cheese, with pesto and more. I like premise of being primarily a waffle spot and cafe. There are over well over 10 waffle styles and combinations to choose from. There isn't Waffle House out here, so this is the next best thing!

A cute Lebanese coffee and breakfast stop in Ballard. I can see this being a popular stop for local Ballard residents who live down the block, but not a place people out of town go to. The ingredients they use are fresh and simple, like an extravagant home-cooked meal. Their menu goes on!

Ordered a scone and chocolate chip cookie. Both were stale. The cookie was inedible. Not what I would call "fresh" baked.

It's definitely one of those places that immediately makes you want to settle in and stay awhile (and we had no power so, we certainly did!). It was that good. Perfectly delicate, fragrant, and memorable in a way that makes you immediately want another one. The service was lovely, the atmosphere was great, and the food and drinks were outstanding. Truly such an incredible spot and I'm already looking forward to going back. One thing to note is that, in terms of alternative milk, they only have oat milk, which was a bit of a letdown. I also tried the infamous honey cake, which was impressive with its many layers, but I found it overwhelmingly too sweet. However, it's not an ideal place to "work from home". While there is free WiFi, there lacks adequate seating and tables fit for working. There are two benches with low coffee tables and two rows of bar stools without backs, no "regular" tables. It made it difficult to work, but it would be a cozy spot to have a conversation with friends or read a book. The other downside is that they close at 4PM, which is quite early.

I'm not a tea connoisseur but you could really taste all of the flavors in the description of the tea. It was very light. I definitely want to come back to try other teas. I really like the ambiance/design of the place. There are many seats for people to study and/or hang out. It was super busy on a Saturday though and we barely were able to get a seat inside. We walked by Victrola Coffee Roasters, and were quite excited for their unique theme. The interior was quite interesting as expected. There were patrons sitting all over the cafe and we assumed it would be a great experience. I ordered their honey lavender latte in their smallest iced size and an oatmeal cookie. The baristas made my drink and had forgotten my cookie, so we had to ask for it. The rating comes from the drink itself. I think I revived about 70% milk and ice. I couldn't taste the coffee at all. When I asked my partner, he said it didn't taste like coffee either. I could also barely taste the honey lavender in it. Generally, my coffee is always strong or too sugary. It's been a while since I've had a drink like this. The cookie was also odd. I was very disappointed. Overall, everything about it was not the best. Just okay.
