Please stay away from this company. I seriously doubt the reviews now though it was these reviews which made me select this company. The service is sub par. They did not update me during different stages of the installation. They come and work on your house without notice. They removed my AC wiring during installation and left. I had no heating for 2 days and I had to call my electrician to fix it ( Sunlight later reimbursed it) The worst was when I saw the total amount they charged me for an Qcell 365w 15 panel system with Enphase micro inverters. They charged me way higher then the latest 400 w panels. I regret selecting this company as now I learned that they charged me $7000 more than any other installer. Even after overcharging, I recently found that consumption meters (250-400 typically for a full install) was not installed and they wanted an additional 600 dollars for the same. Please do your homework. Get multiple quotes for same model systems from same manufacturer from different installers. Don't get cheated by dishonest people! read more

When contemplating solar I was lost in a sea of contractors who seemed legit but I had no idea where to start. Our experience with Sunlight Solar was top-notch from beginning to end. The salesman, installers and technical support was very professional. My favorite part of this company was that the owner called me several times to check in with the status of our electrical panel upgrade (separate contractor) to make sure we didn't need any extra help. He even offered to complete that job for the same price that we were quoted for our electrician. The install only took a day and we have had no issues since. Follow up posting, 2 1/2 years into the transition to Solar, things are going well. About a year into service some micro-inverters needed to be replaced since some panels were not generating the same amount of energy as adjacent panels but once contacted Sunlight was able to send out a repair team and then install replacement ones (under warranty). I would not recommend this company to ANYONE! They are very available before and during the install but after it's like pulling teeth. Long story short... I bought an "EXTRA" panel on top of what they had suggested with plans on eventually purchasing an electric car or running the AC more often during the hotter summers. I was told it would be more than enough to cover the car and A/C with an extra panel... I ended up having to pay for the new solar and SDGE because they sold me a system that was too small for our usage! I ended up having to pay more than the original SDGE bill, making it POINTLESS to even get solar. Even if they were off you would think an extra panel would at least cover the normal usage! so to me, they were WAY OFF. It took MONTHS to get any answers from them and still the result is that it's not their fault or problem. They are the freakin experts and should know what they are doing! If their process of determining what size system you need is wrong/flawed/sucks, that should be my fault, again they are the experts and we trust they know what they are doing. I was excited to finally pull the trigger on solar but now every time I think about it, it's a huge disappointment and regret!!! read more

I shopped around with about 5 different solar providers in my area and thus company was the one I ended up choosing. Their sales rep was not pressuring, and was extremely transparent which is something incredibly difficult to find. I just had a friend get solar and she told me they paid about 5k more for basically the same setup I received and when she showed me the fine print it ended up being almost 20k more. Their install was fast, took about a day and they were able to meet all the requirements of my somewhat strict HOA with not additional charge. I never expected so much from a company such as Sunlight Solar. They went above my wildest expectation! Not only did they give me a great deal on my panels, they also threw in a variable speed water pump, a new gas pool heater, new pool LED light (all Pentair), and the installation too. No hidden costs. Their attention to detail, along with their professional team, such as Charlton, Ed, and Su, did did an amazing job and kept me we'll informed during all phases of the installation. I contacted Sunlight Solar in the summer of 2022 for an initial consul and I was impressed with their representative Domingo who provided information and estimates for various configurations and allowed me the time and space to make my decision without pressure. After I decided to move forward they sent me the various documents and financing agreements. I think I made the right choice to actually own my solar panels and their pricing was very competitive. Since I recently did some remodel work to my hone my electric panel was already upgraded so it was just a matter of coordinating with the City, SDGE, and the solar installers who actually work for Sunlight Solar. I was kept informed during every step of the process with an actual call or email from their production manager. The install day was uneventful and by noon my 14 panels were up but could not be activated until SDGE did their part which took another week. The crew paid attention to details to minimize the effect of conduits etc and paint matched them to my house color. Honestly, I did have an issue afterwards as I didn't like the look of the recommended most efficient placement of a few of the panels, but the company stood behind me and moved a few panels around so I was then completely satisfied. Overall I am a happy customer and have recommended Sunlight Solar to several other friends and clients who had solar installed. read more

This companies customer service is a joke. They rushed thru the financing and then after we signed everything their communication dropped off the planet. Repeatedly late for installations and then for the final inspection with the city inspector they DIDN'T EVEN SHOW UP!! I ended up begging the city inspector to let me do the walk thru for them.
