    Grilled cheese

Excellent food, atmosphere and service. But beware!... their menu changes with the season, so the images you see may not be offered when you arrive but no need to worry! the staples and whatever is seasonal should please your taste buds. I had the chick pea salad was yumm!! But not what I expected because it was like the consistency of a tuna salad. My husband had the roast beef (delish!) 14 yo had the grilled cheese and loved the crunch of the sourdough, 12 yo had the kids grilled cheese for $5! She gobbled it all up and didn't need dessert because she was full! 11 yo had the grilled kids PB&J. Also enough for her and she too had to forego dessert from being stuffed. Best $5 you can spend!

On my way through town heading towards Madison for golf, I stopped by this spot for a drive-by sandwich order to eat along the way. The restaurant looks like a cool place to hang and the staff was supper-kind and helpful. I ordered a custom grilled cheese sandwich with tomatoes and bacon along with a bag of Great Lakes potato chips. The sandwich was divine...gooey, melty cheese along with crispy strips of bacon and perfectly grilled bread. The parmesan ranch chips were also quite tasty and made for a filling meal before teeing it up down the road. Would love to return, if I make it back to the area.

Some of the best fresh quality food is found in this quaint little cafe. I've became addicted to the beast sandwich and the trek out here once every week or two from Madison just to fulfill the craving I get for it is 1000% worth it. It pairs especially well with the homemade tomato soup. Mouth is watering as I'm writing this now thinking about it. Great drink selection/desserts to top it all off and very nice staff

I really wanted to like this place but I was really disjointed. The staff is angry and the food lacking, if not kinda gross. If it wasn't for the really unhappy and angry girl I might have tried them again.

Went here on a Saturday to grab lunch after garage saling in the morning. The place was pretty busy, but they had seating outside and inside so there was enough room. The menu has a bunch of sandwich options as well as some salads, desserts, and breakfast burritos. We ended up getting the guro sandwich and a build your own, which was definitely the way to go for me. They both came with chips, or you could upgrade to a salad. The gyro sandwich is actually listed as a flatbread. It was pretty solid, if not a little messy. We were happy that we got the side salad with it to balance it out a little and provide some more freshness. It was a little heavy without it. I got a build your own sandwich with turkey, havarti cheese, greens, tomatoes, jalapenos, raw onions, and spicy pickles. It was a pretty solid sandwich and I highly encourage adding the spicy pickles to the sandwiches. They provide a very unique flavor, which is not overly spicy. Overall pretty good food with elevated sandwich shop prices.

I love this place so much.

What an awful, stupid experience…read more This all started because their lattes DO NOT COME WITH ESPRESSO. The staff acted like I was an idiot for asking if the iced lavender latte I ordered had espresso. I'm 40 and have never ordered an "iced latte" from a cafe just to be served cold milk, but that's exactly what I got. I asked if I could get it remade with coffee, and they again brought out just iced milk with syrup. This time I asked for just a couple shots of espresso on the side so I could add it to the drink. They eventually at the end of the meal brought out a mug full of lukewarm espresso - probably 4-6 shots! I added a splash to my drink, mixed, and it was (finally) really tasty! But then I got my bill and they had tacked an extra $5 ($2.95 for the espresso + another $2.00 for ???) On top of already paying $4.95 for just cold flavored milk, I guess? When I tried to explain what happened, the cashier, I assume Karin, got combative and that's when I learned this entire weird experience was because they simply don't include espresso in their lattes! At any point somebody could've cleared this up, the cashier knew exactly what the issue was as soon as I asked about the charges, and was ready to argue! I was told "that's just how they named it" and I should've "read the description". So I would've known they're the only place I've ever encountered that considers just flavored iced milk at $4.95 a "latte". She said "chai & matcha lattes don't have espresso" therefore it shouldn't be assumed a "latte" comes with espresso. Chai & matcha have their own caffeine! It's the caffeine that makes a latte, not milk. Why in the hell am I literally arguing the definition of a latte with this lady??? I was really chill up until this point. I was more incredulous than anything. Served just iced milk twice? Takes almost the whole meal to just get gross overload of espresso? Whatever. But to then be charged an extra $5 (making this drink almost $10!) and argued with by staff? That was a bridge too far. Went from just a weird, bad time to a positively nasty time. Top 3 worst dining experiences. Good job, Spring Green General Store, these out-of-towners definitely won't be back, which seemed to be the point. Hope the extra $5 you bullied out of us was worth it!

Our first taste seemed bland. We were told that traditionally dishes would arrive to the table already seasoned, but some customers found them too hot, so they now let each diner add their own sauce. The lunch menu is comprised primarily of a choice of meat and either rice or pasta, the latter being a leftover from Italian colonization of Somalia. I had the goat and pasta, both of which benefited by the (judicious) addition of the hot green sauce by itself or diluted a bit with the mild white sauce. The goat was a bit tough but had a nice flavor. It came with a lime wedge and some chopped lettuce, onion, and green pepper. My husband had the beef chapati and was "underwhelmed." The chapati was quite soggy and the dish was heavy on potatoes for his taste. We both enjoyed the sweet and spicy Somali tea, a chai type that is enjoyably heavy on cloves. This family restaurant is definitely worth a stop.

A small one was just $2, but came in good quantity, and it was rich and flavorful. Chapati beef roll was my favorite entree. There was a spicy sauce in green bottle. That is super flavorful. That enhances the flavor. Chicken legs over rice was my other item. Chicken was super tender and flavorful. Rice came in good quantity and was flavorful as well. Side salad had an extreme strong kick from raw onion. Portion size was big here. Prices were reasonable. Drinks in the front fountain (pinapple and mango) were complimentary. That was a nice gesture. Other places would have charged a couple of dollars for that.
