My husband and I ent here for the first time yesterday on Easter Sunday. As we entered we saw the breakfast menu on the window. Those croissant sandwiches looked like a great idea. We were greeted by a nice lady and I proceeded to order a croissant sandwich, half way into my sentence she cut me off and said "oh no, I don't feel like making those right now." My husband and I looked at each other thinking we heard her wrong but I ordered a mini coffee roll and a large coffee. This was at 10am and there was not enough coffee left in either pot. My husband decided he didn't want anything. Just then a man came in with a full bottle of Alta Dena milk he had just bought. He told the other younger woman that the milk was bad and tasted rancid, just then this dirty looking man came out from the back and both the woman and the baker got defensive and said they couldn't do anything about it because the date on the bottle was good. The customer pointed out somebody else had left a full bottle in the parking lot, presumably because it was also bad milk. It seemed like the employees were aware of this, their response and defensiveness was to quick. They didn't even apologize or offer a refund. Then the younger woman poured one of the coffee pots contents into the other pot. One was supposed to be regular and the other vanilla. The next group of customers ordered vanilla coffee but got the mixture she had just poured. Once again my husband and I were looking at each other like "wth". The place was dirty, the people in the back looked filthy, almost like homeless people. The coffee was old and they don't have what they advertise. Needless to say that will be the last time we go there. All in all we were in and out in 10 mins. The service towards us was ok, not the greatest but it is a filthy place andI don't trust those people with anything that will go into my body. read more

The staff is hit and miss with their friendliness but hey I wouldn't be miss sunshine at 3 am either. I will start by telling you I am not a fan of do it's. I really do have to be in the mood for them. That being said this is my favorite donut shop in san Diego. A must try ate the powdered whipped cream filled donuts. A staple every time we go. My son is a huge fan of the do it holes and he refuses to eat donuts. They have a small parking lot, easy to menuever out of. Friendly staff and they are open 24 hours a day. Best donuts can be found about 430 on in the morning. Right out of the oven. I wasn't sure if I was the only one to remember the Sunny Donuts being Dunkin Donuts years ago, but they are basically the same. As great as ever!! I normally go to the one on Spring Street in La Mesa and standards & quality is still wonderful after all these years. I love the glazed cruellers: crisp out side with the beautiful moist, chewy inside! And of course the chocolate glazed: the solid chocolate cake donute with yummy glaze. Mmmmmmmmm. I only allow myself to visit once a month now as I became a donut hog (I'll polish off 4-5 in one sitting). So do I ever look forward to donut day! I stop by this place one day and I was really craving donuts so I decided to get a Boston Cream Filled and a glazed donut. The Boston Cream Filled was alright it wasn't the best I've had better but the glazed donut was the best thing I've ever had in my life especially when you drop it in the microwave for like 20 seconds. You could taste the butter flavoring in them and they were just so soft they were honestly better than Krispy Kreme and that's hard to beat so if you want a donut and you want the best glazed donut go to this place and get one read more

We love this place! We usually stop in after midnight to pick up donuts for the morning. Alissa is amazing! Huge smile, greets us with genuine smile and welcomes us back. I drove by this unassuming donut shop for over 20 years. On a cold crisp Oct morning in 2018, I was craving a donut and coffee and decided to finally give Sunny Donuts a shot. I was greeted with warm smiles from Sophia and Sally. In fact they were so nice, I chose to enjoy my chocolate cream donut and coffee at the counter. My family loves doughnuts, especially my kids. We are use to Dunkin Donuts since it's everywhere in New York City. We are still adapting to the west coast but we like it so far out here. I like how this place it's close to us and very convenient since my daughter absolutely needs her donut fixes! They make them fresh and have a lot to choose from. I am especially happy they have what my kids like which is pink frosted sprinkles and munchkins. I've had the maple bar which is sweet and yummy. I like how the donuts have a crunch and soft taste, does that even make sense?! Hahaha oh well, these donuts are really good and satisfying. This is my new breakfast joint. I work near Sunny Donuts. Last Saturday, I needed breakfast before going to work. Since I was running late, I decided to get the office a dozen donuts to make up for me being late. I worked a breakfast sandwich, a dozen glazed donuts and a large coffee. My order was only 15 dollars. I had the best breakfast sandwich ever. The croissant was so fresh and delicious. The glazed donuts were fresh and amazing as well. My co-workers loved them. The donuts here are always fresh. They have croissants too, and iced coffee etc. Usually while I'm buying donuts in the morning, there are trays of fresh donuts being brought out right as I'm buying and that's a great feeling. They do have a credit card minimum ($3 I think) but its much lower than the CC minimum at other donut shops in the area. It seems like a family run business, and it's clear that the family and employees truly care about whether or not you're happy with the service or food. These 1 star reviews are a joke. This is one of your hole in the wall, Asian run, 24/7 donut shops that everyone craves. I have bought donuts there many times and they're always a hit. I especially love their maple bars and apple turnovers. If you go late at night, there's one lady working and she doesn't speak great English so no, you won't get 5 star customer service. This place is a local favorite. Donuts are always fresh! It's quick & easy to get in & out of their parking; average stop time in this place is 5 mins for me. In addition to all of your standard faves (yum bear claws) they have breakfast croissant sandwiches, milk, juice, and coffee. It's not Starbucks so don't expect a caramel macchiato, expect ma & pa shop drip coffee. Seating is bar style only, so if you bring your little one, make sure they can sit on a stool. I ordered 3 dozen donuts and some donut holes for a work event. I got no complaints from anyone so I believe they were good! The one I had was tasty. Service was moderate. It was only $9 for a dozen. They had a great variety and I went before 7am. A lady and them several people came in after me as well. Seems to be popular and it's also in a great location. I would definitely visit again. Donuts are good I had a mother and daughter help me last time and they were sweet . They recommended a few donuts for me to try . Only thing I'm not a fan of is how the donuts are out in the open . To me that doesn't seem clean , for example it takes one fly to contaminate basically all the donuts . And judging by the cleanliness I'm not a fan. I may sound like a prissy little girl but let's be real here it's not the cleanest and you're eating from it .
