First time here! Amazing!!!! The food is so fresh and so flavorful! The staff is very warm and welcoming! TBH I have never cared for paninis. So I really didn't have much expectation going in. We got the pesto chicken panini. My hubby and I shared a whole. We both agreed that the flavors are so delicious! Like, flavor upon flavor! And you really only need a half because it's so filling!!!! Or son got the bacon avocado. That was delicious too. I also got a half Cobb salad that is so fresh! The chicken is real chicken that they cook in the restaurant. You can really tell the difference! So much fresh ingredients! The little cookies are way too good! Def get those too!! We got the variety package for $5 and all are so yummy. Found this great little breakfast & lunch restaurant in Escondido. Fabulous breakfast sandwich ( bacon egg, avocado, tomato, cheese on sourdough bread- it was huge & yummy! Small is not an understatement. They have 6 small (2-person) tables inside and 5 small tables outside. Lots of locals that the staff address by name. The owner is very sweet and personable. The food is fresh and prepared daily. They get their micro greens from the Escondido farmers market. The Good Day Sunshine breakfast panini is very yummy. It's made on sour dough bread with house roasted chicken, bacon, egg, tomato, havarti, Muenster, and parmesan cheese. The sunshine sauce makes this panini pop. It comes with a small side of fruit. $8.75 for a half sandwich is a little expensive but worth it. read more

This mom and pop cafe is so cozy and the food was also delicious! I was greeted by the friendly staff and the bright pop of color from the interior of the cafe. I ordered the lemonade, along with the chicken tuscan panini and soup of the day which was tomato bisque. The lemonade was very refreshing as it was made fresh with real lemons and non of the artificial powder or sugars. The tomato bisque soup was also made from scratch as you could taste the tomato seeds, and it was the perfect balance of not being too salty or overpowering. It paired very nicely with the sandwich as I would dip my sandwich into the soup. As for the sandwich, it was very tasty and they were quite generous with the chicken. The sandwich was toasted perfectly and it was nice and crispy. It also came with a little side or fresh orzo salad and a pickle. We came in on a Saturday and it was packed, inside and outside seating. We ordered Welcome Escondido sandwich and another breakfast sandwich with drinks. Time was slow waiting and waiting and waiting for our order. The first time we asked to follow up says it's in the queue. Then we waited and waited for another 20min. In short we we got our food an hour later. To my surprise the sandwiches were fresh and delicious. The cashier apologized for the wait because it came as a surprise that so many people came in. Excellent little hole-in-the-wall with superb, friendly service and a creative array of delicious and healthy food and beverage options. I had the tuna melt, which lists as its ingredients mild cheddar melted over solid white albacore tuna mixed with mayo, mustard, and relish. It's griddled on tasty sourdough and served with a tiny side of orzo pasta side and a pickle. It was very good, but not great. The cheddar brought a certain bitterness to the sandwich that didn't go well with the delicate tuna. The tuna seemed to only have mayo as I could taste no hint of mustard, and there was no relish that I could see or taste. Given the very low cost of orzo pasta, they could include more than the 2 oz. cup. The pickle was standard commercial issue from a jar and while that's fine for most restaurants, I'd expect fresh house-made pickles from Yelp's #3 restaurant in the country. This was a cute little spot. Super sweet workers. I ordered the avocado toast. I was expecting the avocado to already be spear on the toast but it wasn't. This is my new favourite breakfast place. I was hungry after spending all night studying for a job interview (it went really well!) and decided to see if any breakfast places were open nearby. This place had a five star rating, which I'm sure most of you know is unheard of, so naturally I had to check it out. From the moment I first stepped inside, everyone was super friendly and accommodating--but when I came back in to order, they really blew me away. The woman taking my order asked me for my name and actually remembered it and used it throughout my time eating here, which made me feel genuinely cared about. She also gave me a couple small cookies to eat while waiting, which was a really nice touch. In fact, her personality alone made this experience so enjoyable that I will definitely be coming back. It seriously brightened up my whole day. The Italian soda was really good. It was actually my first time ever trying one. I ordered blackberry and cherry--and she went heavy on the blackberry because that's one of my favourite flavours. I enjoyed the Wake Up Escondido sandwich too, but actually what really impressed me was the little bowl of cantaloupe and honeydew that they included on the side. Whenever I've had these fruits in the past, they've been bland and disappointing--but these were fresh and tasty in a way that has me completely reconsidering l those flavours. Maybe I've just never had them properly fresh/ripe before? Bottom line: If you're in need of a mood lift, this place is guaranteed to turn your day around. I will mention some improvements they could make in my opinion: Use better quality bacon and make it crispy not super floppy. Cook it fresh to order. Use freshly cut avocado slices instead of using a mash. The mash just gets brown and doesn't taste very fresh and falls out of the sandwich. Arrived at 11 on Saturday after our morning hike and the place was packed. We were greeted as soon as we entered and were provided with instructions on how to order (At the register or via QR placed on every table) Managed to find a seat and looked over the menu. Placed a takeout order (a whole California Club and a strawberry lemonade) at the register to take advantage of the Yelp check-in deal. We were excited to see the worker behind the counter make our lemonade by hand, using real lemons and strawberries. He brought it out and called our name after about 5 minutes. Tasted amazing, definitely a change from the artificial flavors we are used to at other locations. We sat there and watched as more and more patrons came and the small restaurant was packed. All tables in the front of the place and inside were full and people starting going into the back, where there is more seating. 30 minutes passed by and we were still waiting for our food. We didn't think anything of it since it was packed from the lunch rush and we only saw 5-6 workers. We waited for about another 15 minutes and started getting impatient (it was now noon and according to the receipt, we placed our order at 11:18 AM) This is when we started to realize orders were being brought out for those who came in way after we had placed our order. We waved down a worker and told her it was nearly an hour since we placed our order, and we asked her to check up on our order since it was busy and they may have forgotten our order. I watched her go behind the counter to check the tickets and then she checked behind the register where we assume they place all the takeout/delivery/pickup orders. She grabbed a bag, opened it, checked inside, reclosed the bag, and then walked over to hand us the bag. No apologies or anything. We knew the food had gone cold but we were starving and just wanted to leave at that point. Unfortunately, on top of the everything being cold, the bread was also soggy from the steam and moisture as it sat in a bag tied closed for who knows how long. This was when we became very annoyed, we saw the worker check the contents, she knew the sandwich was cold and yet she still handed it to us. Some suggestions for this establishment, separate call-in/pickup/delivery orders and takeout orders placed at the restaurant. This would eliminate situations like this from occurring. It was our first visit and we waited for our food because we thought our name/number would be called out, like when our name was called out for our strawberry lemonade. A lot of other places call out a name or number whenever their takeout order is ready, this is a pretty common practice. Another suggestion is to offer to remake the food if it's been sitting there for an extended period and has gone cold. I understand that sometimes the customer is late to pick up food after calling in an order or placing it online. In those situations, this is the customer's fault and it is unreasonable to remake an order, however, in our situation, we were waiting inside the whole time. This is why there should be a separation between those orders and the takeout orders placed in person. TLDR; Worker called out our name for our drink and we assumed our name would be called when our food was ready. Took almost an hour to receive our takeout order we placed in person after asking another worker to check in on it. It was sitting amongst what we assume to be the online/call-in orders. read more

The food was terrific. I liked my meatloaf panini. My friend liked his breakfast one, and...I can't remember what the other friend got, but he enjoyed it. We also got brownies, which were excellent. I have to knock a few stars off because the service was bad. I think we waited 45 minutes for our food. We weren't sure if we could sit at the table and they take or order, or what. And...we needed internet access for something, and they told us, after we tried a few times with their code "It's hard to get service when we have the music playing through it." Uh...okay. Well, if a customer requests something like that (since it was a business meeting, sort of), how about we shut off the music for a bit?
