Apple cinnamon topping on chocolate chip pancakes. Meh.
    Anna G.

Not great. I decided I needed pancakes for lunch, and this place was close to my work. They get points for fast service-I did a pick-up order. The ambiance was okay, the lady who took my order and brought out my order wasn't overly friendly. She wasn't mean or anything, just didn't seem bothered that I was there. The place looked like any other diner and lacked personality. The biggest con, however, was that the pancakes were not very good. It's hard to mess up a pancake. I got an apple-cinnamon pancake, and the apple-cinnamon topping looked exactly like the canned kind-gelatinous and flavorless with too-perfect, giant pieces of apple. The pancake itself was overly-bready, a bit on the dry and mealy-textured side. I was not impressed and didn't eat very much before admitting pancake defeat. It was a shame that they did not satisfy my pancake need that day, but I suppose there are bigger things to worry about in the world. Needless to say, I will look elsewhere next time a carb craving strikes.

Came in for breakfast earlier this week, with a craving for pancakes. Being branded as a "pancake house" we thought this would definitely check that box. Sadly, the pancakes fell short for us. Though they looked beautiful, they were a dry and lacked flavor. Coffee was also quite mediocre. The saving grace was my husbands skillet which he said was one of the best he's ever had, and our waitress, who was kind, speedy, and perfectly attentive. If you have kids, this is the spot for you - definitely VERY kid friendly.

Classic American brunch spot. The interior was clean and simple. Our waitress was young and very friendly. The menu has a good selection of everything but not overly extensive. The food wasn't anything out of the ordinary but still a classic American restaurant!

If you're looking for small town charm, diner vibes, and good eats, look no further. You'll be greeted with attentive service who remembers regulars by name and their seating preference, a clean atmosphere with condiments on the table (minus syrup unless you order pancakes, WHICH YOU MUST), and the customers are just as friendly as the employees. We were seated at a booth table where I was able to take in the busyness and people watch. There was a grand table with a huge party that made me happy because they seemed like a warm group of people. I ordered a classic: bacon, eggs, hash browns and it came with a side of pancakes and orange juice. Delicious. There was absolutely no way I was going to finish my entire order and I HAD to a pancake and my bf's pancake home too because it was so damn good. And lemme tell you, it somehow was just as good later on in the day as it was served fresh. How do they do it? Who knows, but it's got me craving more. I WILL BE BACK! Also, shout out to a regular who hooked it up with a coupon for $2 off any order over $10.99! Not sure where she got it from, but they have coupons if you want to save some money!

Was hoping to find a cool little breakfast place to take my daughter to, this wasn't it. We got there at about 6:30, and found the dining room lights off, the open sign on and the sign on the door saying that they open at 7. We thought we would sit and wait in the parking lot, hang out and talk. After about 10 min, we saw people walking in. Went in also and asked about the sign. Was told "oh yeah, we need to fix that". Place is decorated in everything Hobby Lobby. Signs, fake ivy on things, etc. During our breakfast, we needed up realized that the average age of the diner had to be in their late 60s. Service was ok, getting a coffee refill took asking. The food was good, but nothing superior. I got the southwest skillet with pancakes and my daughter got the blueberry waffle. All fine and as you would expect. Good portion size for the money. Biggest issue was the drinks. I got coffee and she got hot chocolate. Both were very watery, with her cocoa looking odd. The color was even weird. Hard to mess up coffee and cocoa, but they found a way.

The service here was fantastic, we went on Mother's Day and were surprised it wasn't packed. Our server was attentive and very sweet. They have a big menu but overall not a ton of veggie options. I got the two egg breakfast with eggs over medium, extra crispy hash browns and pancakes. The eggs were more like over easy which was fine, the hash browns came superrr crispy which I loved. Overall the food lacked a bit of flavor/seasoning but we had a solid meal.

So good, I had started before I snapped this picture of corn beef hash, eggs, & pecan pancakes.

The parking lot was super easy to navigate. The menu was straightforward. I ordered corn beef hash with over easy eggs. I also ordered pecan pancake/s -- I thought would be only one (it was two generous sized). Let me tell you -- anytime I'm in the neighborhood I will be back. The food and service was outstanding!

Irish skillet topped with over easy, look at that melts cheese on the left!!! Bingo!

Today finally came, and I got to visit on a Wednesday lunch. Our hostess and staffs were wonderful and made us feel so special right from the start. Of course, the food was the real highlight. The pancakes were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly buttery. The gumbo was rich and flavorful, well-seasoned without being overwhelming. The grits were cooked to perfection and paired beautifully with the gumbo. Everything felt incredibly comforting on a cold day (see finished plates for reference) We came on a Wednesday morning, so it wasn't crowded at all. Such a relaxed, cozy experience.

Husband got the ham & cheese omelette and felt the same. We split kids pancakes to get the toppings on the side. OMG people don't lie these are an indulgent and amazing treat. 4 stars overall because there are literally 0 modifications which is kind of annoying in my opinion. Like, they were out of hoagies and there was no way to say - I'd still get the sandwich just put it on different bread. Or I don't want mayo. Find that odd. I guess it's a choice but it does deter me from rushing back or trying more on the menu, and be aware if you go. Ps does seem there is an allergy option so if you do have an allergy I suppose you can check that but I'm not sure how to note what you need a change; didn't see it in the QR-only ordering.

We thought we had to wait for a long time, but it actually went quick (like 5 minutes) when we got there. We did not realize this place had an upstairs, until our waiter guided us. This place looks very large on the inside compared to what it looks like on the outside. The restaurant also had an rustic atmosphere. With exposed pipes, rusted decor, and 80's memorabilia on the shelf. We ordered coffee here, and one of them came in a Christmas cup. Even though it was six months away. My wife chuckled on how they served her coffee in a Christmas cup. Mine came in a plain white cup. But I still excessively chuckled on how funny the menu is and the staff are. The staff are very attentive to how your food tastes and make plenty of funny jokes with you. They also are very descriptive on what the specials on pancakes and omelettes are. As well as being very honest. I ordered the Benny's Got Beef Or Belly with Brisket. I know, long name. I watched the weather while my food was being prepared, and occasionally looking at the PBS TV nearby. My wife was drawing with my 11 year old daughter (and writing "secret messages") as their food was being prepped and prepared. When my food finally came out, I immediately took a bite. The brisket was very juicy and tender. And the eggs were delicious on the side. I tried this place several years ago. Was still the same good taste that I remember when I took my wife to this place. Very amazing place. Will come again.

Fantastic food, mediocre service…read more I took my partner her for his birthday, we were planning to celebrate with friends over the weekend but I wanted to treat him to a romantic dinner with incredible food in a laid back environment and this completely fit the bill. We had been previously for brunch but neither of us had been for dinner so we were really excited. From the moment we walked in the vibes just felt off. Not bad, just off. I made a reservation for 7pm. When we pulled up at 6:55 I noticed that my reservation confirmation showed 6:45. I'm certain I made it for 7:00. Not sure what happened there, and not blaming them for that, but I'm curious if that's why things felt off. When creating a reservation it prompts you to include any dietary restrictions and whether you are celebrating anything. I included that we were celebrating a 40th birthday. Despite the restaurant being relatively empty we were crammed directly next to another table despite other 2 tops being available. We were close enough to our neighbors to hear their entire conversation. It's a small space, I get it, but it felt odd especially since several tables around us remained empty for the 2 hours of our visit. I enjoy a leisurely dinner but that not what this was. The service was just that slow and inattentive that it took that long. We saw our server visit the table next to us several times before we were even greeted. I waited about 10 minutes before finally going to the bathroom and that's when he decided to come to the table, so if there was a greeting, listing specials anything at all I missed it'. He came by again when my partner was in the bathroom. We had already waited a while, I would not have minded waiting a little longer for us both to be present for the greeting. I want to be clear that the service was in no way bad, it was just very lackluster. The only real issue we ran into was waiting a very long time for one of our appetizers. Not the end of the world, but for the caliber of restaurant that this is I would at least expect attentive or kind or personable service and it was none of those. He was nice enough, but was very much an order-taker only. We were not offered any suggestions or recommendations at all, it felt very transactional. The kicker was as we were leaving we see someone (not our server) approaching our table with a dessert and a candle. They specifically walked past another party towards where we were sitting (the table next to us was gone by this point). We had paid our bill about 10 minutes earlier and were just walking away. I think "oh they are bringing him a birthday dessert how sweet!" So we sit back at our table only to see the same person backtrack to a nearby table and bring the dessert to them. I was mortified for thinking it was for us and actually sitting back down. We leave, there are 3 people standing there (including the person who brought the dessert and saw the whole thing) and no one even acknowledges us leaving. It was all just so bizarre. I wasn't expecting rolling out the red carpet and certainly wasn't expecting anything for free for the birthday, but I was expecting *some* level of hospitality, especially when I made it explicitly clear we were celebrating. My partner does not treat himself to ANYTHING nice and it was a milestone birthday. I wanted to make it unforgettable. We loved our food and again, didn't have a *bad* experience, but I chose to dine out to make him feel as special and well taken care of as he makes me feel and this just didn't hit the mark.
