Hmm, well I'm torn between the moderate unpleasantness of this establishment vs it's convenience due to its proximity to my home. For the locals, and a few homeless, this is the go to place to get any beverages or snacks you might need. Workers come around at lunch time during the week so it can be busy. They have gas. The pumps may or may not give you a receipt (a personal pet peeve) and you may or may not feel comfortable with the other clientele in and around the shop. But they have gas. And the store employees are nice and quick to print a duplicate receipt for you. Plus it's easy on/easy off from I-30 just before the lake. read more

BAD GAS. Had to have our brand new truck towed to dealership to find out that Sunny's has bad gas. 50% water. Had to have the gas tank drained and the fuel system flushed. Owner won't return calls or accept responsibility. read more

I worked here briefly when I lived on Lake Ray Hubbard. It is an older well used store, but if you get the right manager it's a lovely environment! Ask for fresh coffee! Because there are no refunds! read more

The people working here are great and very polite! But.... this review is for the ridiculously good tacos at the taqueria inside! Their 10/$10 trompo meat tacos are a cheap and perfect lunch for my family! We come here weekly! This is for the taqueria inside of sunny's mart, yes that's right...another gas station taqueria, I'm telling you they are my kryptonite. The ladies inside are always nice and friendly, only problem is they hardly speak any English so for someone who is not broken kitchen Spanglish fluent like my waiter self ordering your food may be a tad difficult. The food is alright and I mean alright in the nicest sense possible. I lived in the apartments behind this place for a combined total of 2 1/2 years and I can tell you the convenience and prices where hard to beat. Nothing is the best version of itself I have ever had, however the chicken quesadilla with red sauce is pretty legit. They also have a $4.49 1/2 pound burger and fries combo with a 32oz soda that is made fresh to order on my favorite bimbo bun ( depending on who's working you may be able to get the hookup on some avocado too), super delicious! I always had to ask for my fries muy fritas because sometimes they were limp. They also serve some ready to go chorizo and egg burritos that where nice when I needed breakfast on the fly after a hard nights boozin. Everything here has always tasted fresh and homemade, just not the most well seasoned I guess you could say, but like I said for the price its hard to beat! Also, not the best area ever ( believe me I know), kinda always feel like Im either going to be mugged or told some ridiculous," My car ranout of gas in frisco, and I need to take the bus to get there/ give me money story", guess it keeps things interesting though! read more

If I could rate a zero, I would. My fiancee and I made an emergency trip from San Angelo, Texas, to Florence, Alabama and had to refuel here on the way in January, 2014. We got about three quarters of a tank of Regular Unleaded gas to fill up, then continued for the remaining nine hours of our trip. About two hours later At 2:30 a.m., outside Brinkley, Arkansas on I-40, my car began to jerk and shake violently and our speed began to decrease significantly like we were running out of gas. At that point, we actually had a little over a half tank, so I got worried. We pulled over in the freezing cold and our car wouldn't start again after we turned it off to see if that would help. At this point, it was about 20 degrees outside and the wind was blowing hard. I called roadside assistance and they towed us to the nearest repair shop. We waited in the now below-freezing cold car for 5 and half hours when the shop owner pulled up and let us inside. He scanned the computer and my car reported multiple cylinder misfires. When it was clear that he couldn't even get the car into his shop to begin looking closer at it, I thanked him and called roadside assistance again to get it towed to the nearest Ford dealership for repairs. My fiancee's brother drove five hours to come and pick us up while the tow truck driver hauled my vehicle away. Five days later the dealership's service department called me to report that the issues were not mechanical, but that my fuel lines had an oily substance in them. Further investigation revealed that the gas in my tank had large amounts of diesel fuel in it! The diesel fuel was the culprit! A week and a half and $351.09 in repair costs later, my car is ok again. I will never return to this Sunny's Mart place again! Terrible experience! Not only did they sell me terrible gas, but the state of the bathrooms caused my fiancee and I to wretch. The place was absolutely filthy! Do not do business here unless you want trouble! Great local gas station, good prices, friendly staff, fresh food at store, western union, money orders, excellent customer service!

I strongly advise not to waste your time or money stopping by this particular Sunny Mart Valero location. Specifically this is the location next to Point Dr off of Interstate 30 in Garland. Please do not mistake this for the Sun City a little further up the service road, as it is actually a Shell station. The Shell has been quite pleasant to associate with and is now "our local family store" we visit almost every day. I recently moved into this area, so I wanted to do some cost comparisons with the local stores/gas stations as my 5 year old son loves to take trips to the store for his rewards when he earns them and I need cost efficient fuel. Being a single mom I have to budget these trips and their expenses since they are so often. I maintain with small rewards and promotions, etc... It works for now while he is so young. Anyways, I had only been to this Valero location one time since I moved here and had no issues the first time. Therefore, why not visit a second time. So one evening about 3 weeks ago, I made this second visit with a friend whom came to see my new neighborhood and exciting new residence by the lake. We drove up to the Valero for some additional beverages about 30 minutes before closing. While sitting in my friend's car pulling out our money and discussing the fund share to split our purchases, this man appears in front of her car with this angry, piercing look on his face and his arms crossed. He was about 5'8, wore glasses, middle eastern descent and had a long sleeved button down shirt on tucked in with his pants a little higher on his waist than most usually wear. We had just pulled up and been discussing things for at most 15 seconds and when I looked up about to get out of the car that is when I noticed this strange man. He continued to glare at us for an additional 15 seconds or so just intensely glaring as if we had committed a crime by being on his property or something. Astonished and confused by his actions I rolled down my window and asked if he needed some help or had a question about something that I could help him with. He instantly began yelling and speaking to both of us in a very rude and irate manner flapping his arms all over like a crazy person. He demanded to know why we were just sitting in his parking spot for the last 15 minutes, not seconds, he accused us of 15-20 minutes of squatting. My friend and I were appalled at the accusation and I asked where he retrieved his incorrect information from. I told him he must have us confused with someone else because we had not been sitting there longer than a few seconds because we had just pulled up. He began yelling louder that I was lying and was about to steal from him and that I knew what I was planning to do and to leave his property at once! I simply replied we had no intention of ever spending money at his ran down shack and poor excuse of a business because of his behavior and insane accusations. THIS MAN HAS NO BUSINESS MANAGING A BUSINESS OR OPERATION. HE IS JUDGMENTAL, IGNORANT, SHORT FUSED, MENTALLY UNSTABLE AND HAS IDIOTIC BUSINESS ETHICS.
