I LOVE this place! I visited the location in Athens and discovered that they had a location here in Atlanta! I absolutely love the shaved snow with strawberries and strawberry drizzle! Like some other reviewers have stated, it is not like the ice cream we are used to, but its different in a good way! I stopped in last week for a Thai Bubble Tea, and I promise, I have had my share of Thai tea, and the way the girl made it, I literally turned around and went back inside to tell her that it was probably the best Thai tea I have EVER had. Seriously. If you are in to trying new things, come here! If not, take yourself to 31 flavors. I am sure you will find something there. I only -1 star because of the location - SunO should have another location in the perimeter, and if they are only going to have one, they should have made it more centralized, and not in Decatur! :) read more

Another option for Asian dessert that can be found in certain areas for GA. Menu/Price: they do not only serve the ice dessert, they also have crepes and drinks. The menu is very colorful and the pictures makes it easy for you to know what you are getting. Price is on the high side for just ice and some toppings around $6+. You can also choose your own toppings and syrups in the size of small, med, and large if you are not feeling eating a pre-set topping from the menu. Food: I ordered the Suno Pappinsu that I shared with two other friends since it was huge. It came with the original shaved ice with condensed milk. When I first heard about shaved ice I thought it was going to be hard broken down ice, but this is different, this was fluffy soft ice with the texture of the ones that have just fallen off from the sky. It came with toppings of red bean, kiwi, strawberry, mochi, and a cherry on top. This is a good place to try it once or twice. But I still think the price is high for some ice and toppings. Definitely more worth it to share it with some friends rather than eating one on your own. read more

She goes OK and then the other girl proceeded to hand me a bubble tea with ice in it. *headesk* Turns out they cant add tapioca to anything hot because the bubbles will melt. But zombie girl #1 charged my bf extra for the tapioca he requested in his HOT tea (which in the end he didn't end up receiving) WTF. They get a pass for being teens. I would revisit just because I love bubble tea so much. But if that girl is there next time I'm going to order room temperature tea with exactly 30 tapioca balls. Convenient location and a tasty dessert option. I don't know what the other reviews are talking about in terms of different quality shaved ice. The shaved ice here is just as good or bad as any other Suno location I have been to. Nothing exceptional but definitely the same standard "snow." The workers here are great and friendly after just visiting on a Saturday night when it was a little busier than normal, I was told that Scout Mob had a deal for them. We pulled out an iPhone and got the amazing deal. THANKS SUNO STAFF! The mango and strawberry was the group's favorite but the chocolate covered banana like suno was quite tasty as well. Come for a refreshing dessert when you've had a little but too much frozen yogurt. The area is now packed with Frozen Yogurt but they can't touch the fresh fruit that Suno has! read more

Being asian, I have a natural softspot for shaved ice. I came here on the grand opening. The line outside the door was so long that my friend and I gave up long before we got close to the front of the line. Since then, I've been back three times and it's a been a solid experience each time. My favorites are the Puddling Delight and Dirt O' Oreo. The regular sized portions are huge and my friends who are intimidated by that tend to go for the smaller make-it-your-own options. The rating would be higher if not for a few drawbacks. First, the seating is very limited. Second, the AC in this place barely works and really disrupts the experience of enjoying a frozen treat in the middle of the hot Atlanta summer. Lastly, on my most recent trip, the Pudding Delight I ordered was very sloppily put together. Still tasted the same, just bad presentation. But maybe I'm being too demanding. read more

Aside from that, you definitely get a huge huge huge bowl of shaved ice for around $7.00. I got the "Suno" and it had tons of stuff on it: red bean, mochi, ai-yu jelly, etc. In my opinion, they could have put less condensed milk on it... because mine was definitely drenched. Short of the long: Tasty bubble tea for a good price and delicious shaved ice desserts. I have already come back! Location: At the edge of a little strip mall. Easy enough to get to and there is plenty of parking in the area. Interior: Small and a little haphazard, but A/C works well and it has a small store feel. More of an aged feel even though I don't think it is that old of a store. Service: Great service. The young woman who made our drinks today (we ordered two large bubble milk teas) was very attentive to them - she did some thorough checking of the lids/cups to make sure there were no leaks. She actually found a crack in one of the cups and promptly poured the drink into a new cup and resealed it. So we were grateful she found the crack before we did on our drive home! Food: Delicious bubble tea. Out of the places we have tried in Atlanta (Sweet Hut, Honey Bubble, Quickly's), my boyfriend ranks this the best for black bubble milk tea. I guess my expectations is too high when it comes to Suno. I came here not too long ago and ordered a crepe along with the black milk tea. I would have to say that my experience here was disappointing. The place barely have any room for the patrons to seat and enjoy their desserts. My crepe dessert did not have any "Suno" inside. All I got was the toppings. This is fairly because they had a rush of crowd that came in after me. But still, this was no excuse. Their prices is quite high as compared to other locations. Overall, I would have to say that I probably would not visit this place again. The drink was just "alright" and not having any "Suno" inside my crepe was a bummer. I agree with Katharine S.'s review. Main Points: 1) Flavor is ok. 2) Options limited to HUGE! 3) Needs more price point options. The menu options are only available in the super huge REGULAR size. This is plenty large enough for two people, so take a friend. You can recreate the options in a small size, but the staff did not recommend it because "the cost of the small would be about $6.50, when a regular size is only $6.07." Not knowing anything about the place before we walked in, the "build your own" option was a bit daunting. If they could add a smaller size for the menu options, I'd be tempted to try more. The $6 MONSTER...er, I mean Regular...is too much for me. With that said, the Mango Tango was pretty good. The kiwi was fresh and the mango jelly was full of flavor. The green tea ice cream was a nice surprise, light and refreshing on a humid June evening. The Mango SunO as a base was light in flavor, but had a good creamy shaved ice texture. I rarely get Suno now just b/c HoneyBubble is closer to me but.. when I do go... Parking is great. Huge lots - each time I go, I always find parking. Definitely a major plus! I've always had great service. Definitely nice folks there. Whenever I go, I am told to use my UGA ID for a discount or 2. Suno is already cheap as it is... so, I tip a little bit more since I get discounts. I worked in the food industry in college, so I know how it feels. Drink - I only get Thai tea. I like it. Nothing crazy. The sizes are pretty decent. It takes me a few hours to finish it haha. My bf and I walk around Emory/the surrounding areas whenever we drive over. Emory has awesome bookstores in the area! Not a huge fan of their shaved ice.. But VOLCANO IS SO GOOD. NOM. TRY IT! I usually can't finish it, but when I attempt to.. yum, never a bad way to end your day ha. This place is also very close to Emory's dorms - Clairmont. I used to hang out a lot with Emory folks so Suno would come up often in our "where can we go for desserts!?" convos back in Undergrad. #goodtimes There's also a Publix near Suno & another café in case you're actually hungry or want coffee. For Atlanta, it's just aight. The options are decent, and the staff is nice. If you want more sweetened condensed milk on top of your shaved snow, then you can simply go back up and they'll squeeze some more in your bowl. I guess you can go back as many times as you want--not sure. They don't layer the toppings in the bowl; they simply place it all on top. I got egg pudding (in ice cube shapes) and strawberries. While piling on top makes for great Yelp and Instagram pictures, it does not make for easy spooning or evenly spread toppings throughout the dessert-eating process. I learned from a shaved snow pro friend that consistency is important, so I am very particular about that now. She's tainted me. The stuff here is more shredded than long pleats of cold, cold snow/ice. Shredded does not have the same mouth feel as the long pleats. It's distinctly different and much less mentally impressive. I probably will not be back ever until they perfect this shaving method. I prefer Classroom 302 in LA. Too bad it's on the other side of the country. My little niece is in love with this place. Picked up the kids' SunO - shaved vanilla ice (ice baby, sorry I couldn't help it), chocolate syrup, Oreo crumbles, M&Ms, and more chocolate syrup - and she completely tuned out the fact that I was running boring adult errands to Target and Walgreens and got disoriented on the drive home. All joking aside, SunO has an impressive selection of bases - shaved ices (vanilla, coffee, mango, thai tea, mango) or ice cream (green tea, vanilla, chocolate, strawberry), fun toppings (mochi, lychee, nuts, gummy worms), syrups, and healthier topping choices (fresh strawberry, kiwi, mango, red bean). I was dehydrated and dragging tail, so I opted for the Thai Tea. It was creamy, caffeinated satisfaction. SunO is a delightful marriage between an Asian bubble tea house and a American-style ice cream/yogurt place. Suno is like an old friend that is always there for me when I'm feeling down. There milk taro tea with boba is my favorite I have ever had. There location in Decatur is in a really busy area, so sometimes finding parking can be a little bit of a challenge depending on the time you are going, but making it in is the treat. I've been coming to this Suno location for years now. Some of the staff has been the same for that period of time, which is what keeps the quality level high. Each time I walk in, the interior always smells like it has been freshly cleaned. I love coming here for the boba tea and, occasionally, their shaved ice too. My favorite tea flavors here are taro and Thai tea. They have three sizes to choose from and will customize your drink the way you want it. The fact that it is near Emory drives a lot of business, and you will see that students with ID get discounts. Also, each day of the week has its own deal, like Ladies day and things like that. When the weather is nice I enjoy sitting on the patio adjacent to Suno indulging in a sweet treat while the cars on North Decatur zoom by. The shaved ice dessert with fruit was really yummy - the ice was like eating snow. We got the one with mango and strawberry and thought it was very light and refreshing. I also tried the crepe because I love green tea ice cream and red bean, but I won't be trying that again. The crepe has a plastic-like consistency and there were a lot of Frosted Flake-like things under the ice cream. If there had been more ice cream, I probably would've been more satisfied for my $6. I saw some previous comments about staff....but our guy was super friendly, and patient- huge plus since we came in with four children in tow. Sigh. As far as the suno, i couldn't notice any difference between locations. I guess my bowl wasn't totally running over, but at that price point, who cares. Besides sometimes all that extra shaved ice makes it hard to get the neon sweet juice on every little bite. Aside from a weird preference for the passion fruit syrup...I gotta remember to request that only, Suno is pretty much a huge hit in my book. This place does not have table seating inside...but we just hunched over on the little benches that surround the windows and enjoyed our goodness. Oh- one more thing. They make the hot wheel pies, but they said that the red bean one was not popular, so they only make the custard ones, which makes me so so so so sad. Love this place as an alternate choice when craving dessert. I'm typically a fro-yo fan but their "mango tango" and build your own desserts are great and low in calories. The service here is always consistent and it's always great to have the option to take our dessert to go. My friend was searching for shaved ice so without having to drive all the way to Duluth we opted for this SunO's. Walking in, I probably should have called her and said turn back. Haha. There was an odd smell to the place that smelled very similar to a public restroom. We ignored it, and decided to grab drinks while we waited for my friend to show up. Aside from service, everything here was just disappointing... and that's being nice. The service was perfectly fine so thank you for that at least. It all really started when we tried to order the Thai coffee. They were out of it. Okay, it's advertised, it was probably popular and just sold out fast, I thought. So we got a coffee mocha slush & a simple strawberry boba tea. The slush was fine and what you'd expect, the tea was okay, but the boba weren't the best and were rather hard in the middle. I actually didn't even bother finishing this, it just wasn't good. Our friend arrives, and we decide to get two suno cups. I got a green tea red bean which I was told I could only get in medium which I have a problem even finishing a small, but I really wanted to try it, so fine. Then they say they are out of red bean. I really should have said "No, I don't want it" at this point, but for some reason I said fine.. I apparently wanted that green tea suno. Once I get it, and it's as stated, a pile of green tea shaved ice with mochi and condensed milk. Without the red bean, it looked pretty sorry, and for $6 I was also pretty sorry. Listening in on other people's orders also revealed they were out of a lot of things, not just Thai coffee and red beans. They were out of a lot... I basically ended up throwing away all of what I got. It was kinda boring to eat a pile of just green tea shaved ice after all the mochi and condense milk was gone. And while my cup was piled up to the brim my friends wasn't even filled that high, supposedly to be able to keep the toppings from falling off. I was eating dinner next door, but wanted something for dessert. I popped into SunO out of curiosity since it was so close. The cashier was very patient with me- explaining to me the entire concept and what my options were. The SunO dessert is like shaved ice, not frozen yogurt. I got thrown off by Yelp's categorization of ice cream & frozen yogurt. But since I was there, I was gonna try it. I decided to get the build your own SunO dessert. I got original SunO with banana, caramel, and chocolate syrup. The total with tax was $4.02. It is a bit thicker than most shaved ice. And the milks and syrup make it very dense. In a good way. It does melt very fast so this is something better to eat in rather than take with you unless you are VERY close. Overall, I thought it was good for it what it was, but it is not a dessert that I crave. 4 stars due to the wonderful employee who helped me. read more

Atlanta's Asian Dessert community has moved closer to Agnes at this wonder store. They serve shaved ice treats, smoothies, slushies, and BUBBLE TEA! All of the ingredients are local and fresh. The teas and boba balls are also made in house. They even offer a "Making Theater" where customers can watch their order being made. Service is quick and friendly and costs are very low. The servings are also very generous. The store has a very open and airy feeling so you're more than welcome to sit and enjoy your treats. For those who have never had bubble tea this is a great place to beginning your journey into Asian desserts. read more

I walked in wanting to get some shaved ice on a scorchingly hot summer day, but after seeing how unclean the place was, I ended up getting bubble tea for just grab and go. The tables were stained and tiny little station with straws/utensils/napkins was not clean either. The menus felt sticky too, so tried not to touch it or hold it while ordering. --so that was my first impression of Suno. The girl who took the orders and made the drinks was not friendly at all. When she messed up my order, there wasn't any apology saying sorry. Just a shrug with "I'll make a new one", which I refused. Seemed like she was the only one working, so people behind me would have had to wait. Oh, and by the time I walked out of the place back to my car, all the ice in my drink was already melted but my drink was still lukewarm. I added my own ice once I got home. Ice-less drinks just feel weird.... 10% student discount is available and Suno punchcard for medium drinks, too. But I think I'm going to stick with my usual Sweet Hut and Kung Fu Tea for bubble tea. It was a little confusing to figure out at first because we couldn't find an accessible menu until we made it up to the register. At that point I'd already like to have an idea of my order so I can keep the line moving. Signage around the room primarily tells you about a few of the shaved ice choices, but you can create your own combination and they also have drinks. We really enjoyed the unique Thai tea flavored shaved ice with the condensed milk sauce. The coffee jelly wasn't my favorite but my husband enjoyed it and I definitely like the interesting concept. I came here a couple times for the milk teas when I was in the area which is not much anymore. Not terribly sweet, which is great. I usually get a green or black tea with egg pudding and add the lychee jelly. These are iced teas and not slushy like most places. You can get bubbles and they seem very fresh and tasty. They would get another star for wheel pies which the other location has- I love these things! This is a hangout spot for me and my friends during school breaks and the atmosphere is pretty cool. The actual place is super small, but they also have a small outside seating area. At first, I thought the prices for the shaved ice to be a bit expensive, but seeing the size of it, it was definitely more than enough for me.
