First of all, I have had fraudulent transaction by a male cashier and the owner and manager refuses to assist in this transaction. In addition to that, there are items that are marked from the factory in the gas station. However, the gas station will charge you more than the price that's marked. In addition to the air pumps that are not property of the gas station. If you lose money and call the number on there. No one stands behind you on you losing money. I feel the gas station is very fraudulent with credit cards and you need to watch your self there read more

5 Stars for the price of gas here. This is the cheapest place to get gas in the area. Its on the way to my gym and yoga place. I live in Adams Morgan and you can imagine the price of gas in DC. There is as service station attached here that I haven't used and a convenience store where you can purchase snacks, sodas, etc. You can pay at the pump easily with a credit card or go inside for cash transactions. There is entertainment at the pump with their tv screen where you get recent news. I think I've also used their air pump which cost $1.00 and you can get change from the cashier. Overall, cheap gas and you can get an even more discount if you have rewards from your Safeway Club. Just be sure to swipe your card or manually enter your phone number. read more

Be aware of State Inspection. Took my car there and it appeared that the "inspectors" are looking really really really hard to find something to fail your inspection. Then they give you a quote on the cost to fix the "problem." I would not go there for my state inspection, only for gas maybe. read more

The good: This place has good prices on its gas, it's fairly clean and tidy, it's a get in and out type of a place. The bad: I went here Just for a state inspection which was supposed to be sixteen dollar. The mechanic called me and stated I was charged 86.30. I was charged 16 dollars for the state inspection, 10 dollars for headlamp adjustment (which you can just twist and falls right in it's place), 10 dollars for low beam adjustment properly and stated that they replaced my head lamp (all of my headlamps worked properly and on top of that I was charged 39.91 for new wiper blades. Conclusion: Coming here and filling up my gas all the time you would think that they would wave the 20 dollars for the lamp adjustment, but no. I feel as though I was charged extra for something that could have easily been less than 40 bucks to include the wipers. The shop charges an arm and a leg for their services. read more

The worst attitudes. I got a flat. I told the older Indian man that a rescue would be here soon. He said "you are blocking my tire pump." I told him that he just lost a customer. I will call the station and Sunoco to report poor customer service. I almost called the police because he got near my SUV. My wife took her 2005 Honda Civic for an oil change and a state inspection. The manager or shop supervisor told us we had to pay upwards of 1500.00 to pass the state inspection for a variety of issues like, exhaust, suspension, engine mounts. This obbiously didn't sit right with us so we said we are not going to pay so he slapped a rejction sticker on her car. We took the car to he auto repair shop called KB repair on Van Dorn who thought that that was a little crazy, referrred us to a nearby Exxon. Exxon (Van Dorn and Edsall) said we the only thing we needed were engine mounts to pass for 160.00. This Manager at the first shop (I think his name is Kent) I recall he tried to upsell me the last time I had an inspection done saying my break system needed to be flushed when I just had it the break fluide system serviced and flushed out by my go to mechanic who I trust. It seems like they just wantted to take advantage of my wife or their prices are just way too high. We're never taking our car here for any type of service again. read more

I recently had a flat that required a new tire and they ordered the tire and had me back on the road in a few hours and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. The worse shop I have ever encountered. Do not take your car here. About a year ago they did my rear brakes and I was driving to my moms and heard a knocking noise from the rear, stopped and checked and my lug nuts were all loose, finger tight! I had my girl friend take a video while I tightened them and gave it to Noah. Also, the same service for inspection, it took them three times to fix my check engine light. I should have learned my lesson. I just took my Jeep there for State Inspection, after my Jeep was in there for about 40 minutes, I looked and the mechanic had it up on a lift going through it with a fine tooth comb. I asked what he was doing since that should be done when you take your car in for a service, like an oil change. The mechanic said I should talk to the service manager. So on top doing a lousy job, they have terrible policies there, just trying to scam you for money. A State Inspection should take 15 minutes but not here! I will not even tell you what is wrong now, enough to say, do not take you car to this horrible shop, they should not be allowed to work on cars. Maybe they should lose their license to be a shop and only pump gas. Oh, yeah, Noah said his mechanics use a "torque bar" to tighten the lug nuts, guarantee they did not on my wheels! Good station -very, very clean and average in price for gasoline I've been using the service station for years and have been very pleased. As for repairs, they are not expensive but they are not cheap either... I'd say they fall somewhere between average and expensive, but the quality of the work and honesty of the owner is worth it. I do not recommend this merchant. Price quoted over the phone at the time I approved work and what I was charged upon pick up was two different things. When challeged about the price, I was met with anger. I struggle with doing business with those who operate like this. The management has a lot to learn about client satisfaction, retention and loyalty. Fantastic staff! Get gas here all the time. After about an hour after getting gas I realized my wallet was missing. I went back hoping it was found at the station. This Sunoco is right by my house and I always stop here for gas its usually pretty cheap in comparison to other nearby ones. However, avoid the shop at all costs! As someone that knows a lot about cars, I do most of the work myself and only use these locations for inspections. Over the years I have come here 3 times and each time they will treat me as if I know nothing about cars and I just kind of go along with it to see what they will make up. This is the last time I am bringing my car here! They gave me the usual that I had to re aim my headlights (which I had just gotten done not even 2 weeks ago), and that I needed a new battery hold down which they estimated at around $45, which autozone has this for $4.99) and they also left a dent on my hood! When I came back inside the shop the owner had mysteriously left and would not be back for the day. I had to file a civil dispute with the Alexandria Police Department, this is the last time anyone I know will bring their car here for anything other than gas. The mechanics that were still there just kind of shrugged their shoulders and told me to come back Monday. I hope it was caught on video! read more

Bf lives nearby so I sometimes gas up at this location. I've found that it's usually not too crowded and the pricing is a little cheaper than other VA locations and on average 5 - 10 cents cheaper than in DC. read more

Beware of taking your car here for state inspections. They said my car needed $1200 worth of repairs to make it pass inspection. Apparently after reading all the other reviews their MO here is to say the engine mounts need to be replaced and they're super expensive HERE TWICE the amount as anywhere else $900, quick work, tons of money back for them. I didn't need all the ones they said I needed just one and the another mechanic who did a repairs said my car should have passed inspection and needed only one $44 engine mount since they had put it into the system already. The other repairs they said I needed aren't even included to pass inspection. Shady and dishonest. Not only will I not be getting gas here anymore I won't take any car here again. Ever and I'm seriously considering reporting them to the state police regarding state inspections since they are in charge of state inspection. read more

A few weeks ago, I brought my vehicle here for a routine state inspection and was handed an outrageous repair estimate. The major repair was the dreaded "engine mounts". This exact scenario happened to my best girlfriend with another mechanic, so I was wise enough to get a second opinion. By the way ladies, if a mechanic tells you the engine mounts need replacing when you come in for a state inspection sticker, RUN! In any case, I did take my car to another mechanic who inspected the vehicle and found absolutely nothing wrong. We're a mile before my in laws place when we start to hear a ticking from under the hood of our '78 Ford Trailmate Class C motor home. We had spent the last few years rebuilding the whole thing. With help from a family friend, we took the entire roof off, then reframed it, rewired it, reinsulated it, and put on a new roof with three brand new ceiling, exhaust fans. Then we installed new cabinets, a new counter a new sink, a new fridge, all with a new stainless steel backsplash and accents. We put in new hardwood laminate floors and had all the cushions reupholstered. From the outside it looks like a relic from the 70's, but inside is immaculate and new. The engine had under 30,000 original miles, and as far as we had been told, was in great condition. We had a mechanic under the hood a few times tuning it up and never had been given any cause to worry so we set out in good faith that we'd make it South from New Haven, then West to California; our first stop Northern Virginia where both my sister's family and in laws live. That's where we almost were when it started that dreadful ticking. Within moments the ticking accelerated and kept getting harder until a loud snap, smoke, and loss of power... on the D.C. Beltway during rush hour. Luckily in between two stretches of reduced shoulders I was able to find and get into a break down lane. I have the wife, two dogs and all our stuff, we're moving across the country and five hours in we're stuck. Thankfully we're about a mile from my in laws house and just about as far from the local mechanic they've been using for years and he agrees to take it. Kent's Garage in the Sunoco at Landmark in Alexandria, VA. From the moment we got there Kent and his team were great. It seems harder and harder these days to find people who do what they say (read my Dixie Sheet Metal Review), but Kent, Bill, and the other guys there proved that there's hope. I was hoping for nothing big on the RV, so you can imagine the shock when Kent calls me and tells me the Engine has ceased. All the usual causes don't seem evident and he doesn't know what happened, but it doesn't look good. If we had any chance we were going to need a new engine, a new water pump, a new radiator, new hoses, belts and sparkplugs, not to mention fluids and two new battery racks. Kent told us that it looked like an engine that blows on a race track. Without many options we take a chance and tell him to do it. The whole way he was never unreachable, and always explained things to us in non mechanic talk. He told us that because he knew we were living out of it, that at any time 24 hours a day we were welcome to stop by if we needed anything. They did everything possible to accommodate us and never made us feel like a burden to them. They kept the deadlines they set except for once by a day, but they called us and let us know they wanted to double check it. When the tire was making a noise the next day we took it back and Bill hopped in and took a ride with us then drove us home to take it back to the garage for a couple hours. He checked it out and stopped the noise for no charge. He even tracked down a digital file of the vehicles manual and gave me a copy on a flash drive. It's this kind of detail and service that inspired me to bring the guys in the garage a twelve pack as a token of thanks. If you have any mechanic needs go see Kent and his guys. They're great and they can fix ANYTHING! read more

I took my vehicle here for an inspection, and was failed due to an airbag/seatbelt light that was on. They told me that it would $100 to run the diagnostic program to find out what the problem was, and then whatever the parts and labor would be to fix it. I refused to pay and took it to another mechanic which is a few blocks away, they ran the test for free and within 10 minutes told me that it was a part (a seatbelt sensor) covered under a lifetime warranty by Honda (my car is 11 years old, so I didn't think there was any type of warranty on it). Honda fixed the part for free, and I spent nothing at all getting it diagnosed or repaired. Landmark Towers Sunoco was going to charge me $100 just to run the test, and then who knows how much for parts and labor. They are using their license as safety inspectors to create more business for themselves, hoping to take advantage of people who don't know that most mechanics (and Pep Boys, AutoZone, etc) will run the diagnostics for the vehicle's on-board computer for free. read more

I pretty amazed to see any ratings other than 5-stars for Landmark Towers Sunoco as I have been getting all my auto repairs done with Kent and his great team for decades and I couldn't ask for a better repair service. For example, I once went to another station for my state inspection. While the vehicle passed inspection, the manager gave me a long laundry list of repairs he recommended to the tune of $2,000. I took the list to Kent and asked what he would charge for the same services. He checked each one out on my car and said the only item that needed to be done was a hose replacement. He could have taken advantage of my lack of mechanical knowledge and said he could do the whole list for $1,500, but he only recommended one minor repair off the entire list and saved me hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Now that is an honest mechanic! In 1990, I took in my aging 1968 Bronco in because it was leaking gas, Kent checked it out and then called me to say that he could do the repair but the car was so old and had deteriorated so much over time, he recommended that I save my money and get a new car. Again, he was willing to put my interests first, rather than just doing a repair to collect a fee. Another time I drove with a problem just as his last mechanic was getting in his car to leave for the night. That mechanic took his coat off and solved my problem! Landmark Towers Sunoco has kept my vehicles up and running long past their normal life spans and I consider myself very lucky to have discovered this honest and thoughtful garage! read more

Gas prices are typically the best around, however, watch out for their upselling auto repair business. The charges for a recent, simple repair kept getting larger - even after discussions with the mechanics. While they were giving me the repair rollover, another customer was yelling about the amount his repair bill totaled. This used to be a great service station. We took both our cars here for 5 years straight. Lately they've hired some technicians that do not communicate very well in English and get defensive and surly when someone questions anything. Quality, trustworthiness and customer service have gone way down hill. It's a shame. The owner/manager, Kent, defends his guys stiffly without thinking too much about it. I recommended this business to many people over the years, and feel that I can no longer do so. Because I live close by, I decided to stop by for a oil change right b4 a busy holiday weekend for myself, as I pulled in I noticed NO customers were ahead of me (the first red flag). After being told they could do it, I handed over my keys and went to the waiting room. After about 30 mins I was told my car was ready for check out, I paid the cashier and headed out to my vehicle. As I put my key into the ignition, it would not budge at all, so I thought maybe the "technician" forgot to put the car in park. However after checking, both the drive shift and the emergency break were in park, I calmly walked back into the shop to let the "technicians" know that the car wouldn't start. One of the "technicians" followed me outside and was also unsuccessful in getting the ignition switch to budge. Next to come out was the "manager" whose idea of fixing the problem was to pound on it with his fist. After about 10 minutes he gave up and informed me that my ignition switch had SUDDENLY gone bad (the same ignition switch that worked fine when I arrivef 30 mins prior). I informed him that I was going out of town and this was unacceptable, I came in for a SIMPLE OIL CHANGE. He told me that a new part would have to be ordered and it would not be in until the next day after I was already scheduled to be in another state. After I told him I'm not paying for damage to my vehicle that happened in their care, he assured me that the owner would "take care of it," so I took a bussiness card with the owners info and WALKED home. The next day I called the owner to let him no the situation, he responded not with a apology or remorse, but with confrontation and aggression. He flat out called me a liar, saying he believed my ignition switch was already messed up (eventhough he wasnt even present when the incident occurred) and he would not cover the cost of anything. After telling him that was RIDICULOUS, he said I was "arguing" with him and rudely hung up the phone in my face. I woulnt wish this type of "service" on my worst enemy. Do yourself, your wallet, and your car a favor and avoid this place at all cost.. your car will thank you later. read more

I bought an old 300zx that turned out to be a lemon. I only paid 2500 for it and less than 24 hours my car broke down by near kings dominion. Money has been tight since the passing of my mother so it was all I could afford and had it towed to the Sunoco. A mechanic named Zeiki ( excuse me for misspelling of his name) the mechanic called me and told me my car is a piece of sh$&! Last thing I wanted to hear. I can't speak for other mechanics and the owner Ken does take pride in his shop but that one mechanic is his weak link. Good news is I found another mechanic who was able to fix my car way below what I thought I would have to pay. Just from the poor attitude il never have my car fixed there and they could have made $1000. I'm assuming mechanic was lazy an doesn't take pride in his job, again I can't speak for the other mechanics just the on who told me my car can't be fixed or tell me what was wrong other than telling me its a piece of sh$&! read more
