Everything went fine. Business was in an industrial area and there was a lot of construction going on. The urns and such they display have all been discontinued, and there were a lot of empty boxes piled up. Prices seemed better than most, for the most part. Everybody was nice. We ordered some things and asked for cremation ashes. When our orders came in, they had gotten one wrong, and when I told them they went into the back to correct it. Mistakes happen, but I don't know how I feel about the handing of dividing ashes in a back room. Regardless, they were pretty accommodating. One other thing, when I was leaving the girl there gave me a big hug upon leaving. Although I appreciate the gesture, I'm not sure how appropriate it is unless the client is the one to initiate it. The doors are locked, and they appear out of business. The website does not open. My mother's obituary no longer exist. It was never put in the newspaper obituaries. I have waited a year to write a review, but my negative attitude about this place has not softened with time. The man I dealt with was Mike Walters. He was uncaring, unresponsive, and downright creepy. He reminded me of a creepy undertaker character from a horror film. We used this facility for the cremation of my father. Our initial contact with Stacy was pleasant enough although the location was not the best. We paid on site and were told that the cremation would take place in 7-14 days and they would mail the remains to our out of state home. It took over a month to actually receive the remains and the return address on the shipping label was for another funeral home/crematory- NOT for sunrise cremation. We never authorized transfer of the body to another facility nor were we contacted about this. Something shady is going on here and I would highly suggest you use another facility for your needs. read more

Do not take your loved one to this place..... Ellen is so rude, absolutely no compassion concerning your loss.... We used this place because they were on a list provided from Hospice my brother was at when he passed.... Sunrise Cremation shouldn't be operating, they have no compassion and refuse to do anything for you unless you want to pay more money, all about the money.... But the worse thing about them is they don't care.... We couldnt afford the additional money to rush my brothers cremation and they purposely pro-longed getting my brother ready for his services, and we had to continue with our services without my brothers remains due to family and friends arrivals..... If we would have paid the additional money the outcome would have been the same...... I will be advising the Hospice place that recommended Sunrise to remove them from there list.... The other person at this place, Thomas, had lack of compassion also and he confirmed with us that my brothers remains would be split per our request, when we picked him up they didn't split his remains and we.had appointment for his burial so we never got them split as requested, his excuse was we didn't pay the $25 so he didn't split them, that wasnt what we agreed to..... read more

Please don't leave your loved one with these people. It's a joke and a sham that they are even in business. My father died, and my mom in her grief was looking for cheaper places to have him cremated and get him back to her asap. Some idiot, came in the door to take my dad away and said "so... Are you ready for me to take him or what?" That right there is the epitome of their customer service. After many many chances tht we gave sunrise, and after being let down, yelled at, and even looked down upon we chose to contact boulder city funeral home. They picked up my dad from this horrible place right away, and when we sat down to speak with boulder city memorial, he explained that Sunrise is a horrible place, and he couldnt tell us how many complaints he personally had recieved over the years. So our question to him? Well how do they stay in business? Can't we report them to the board? Well sure you can report them. If they were affiliated with the board! But sadly they are not accredited. Please people stay away from Thomas and this sham. Your loved ones deserve better. read more

They deserve no stars. We called to get prices and get answers to our questions. They were very polite and helpful, on the phone. Once we got there, to get the paperwork done, also very helpful. The problem laid in after giving the money, we had left a blank spot on the application and were going to get back with them. After, trying to get everything arranged and finishing up what we needed to do, I called back in a week and asked what the status was. It took several calls before anyone would even answer the phone. Thomas finally answered and in an angry voice said "you were supposed to call me back with the information, I'm waiting on you". We told him to just put "unknown" and asked how long would it take to get the ashes. He said about a couple days and we could pick it up next week. Our beloved laid 9 days in their office before being cremated (hopefully the body was in some type of refrigeration unit; we hope). It took roughly 2 weeks from time of death for us to get her ashes. The establishment was in an old run down building. The front office was OK; not the best. The next room we sat down in to fill out the paperwork was small and was next to the back room which was separated with what appeared to be some type of curtain. Until the money was in hand, the experience was good. It was, after the fact, wherein the problem laid. In the line of business that they are in, they should have more empathy, however, not in their case. For Thomas to have taken that tone, basically shouting, was inexcusable and we will never require his services, ever again. We will, also, let everyone else know about Thomas. read more

The Gentleman who actually runs the place in an office behind the receptionist. He is a complete idiot . After two weeks I called to find out how the progress on my wife was coming along he said oh we tried to call you numerous times but the connection was bad. When I did go to pick her up she was in this generic box in like a grocery bag I asked where was the urn that I purchased for her he looked all confused and didn't know what I was talking about. He said all we forgot to tell you there is an extra charge to transfer your loved ones, needless to say I had this turn there before the cremation took place so I don't know what kind of transfer they are talking about. They said it's because we didn't purchase urn from them that it was company policy to charge extra to put into another urn .What really bothered me is he never even brought the earn out with my wife's ashes it's like he was going to keep it. The guy is a creep and I would never go back there again . This was a trying time for my family and myself and since my wife 30 years complications to melanoma cancer they need to have better customer service someone who has a little bit of empathy. If I can give them less than one star I would but it's not because I never wanted so much to just punch somebody right in the face but I know it wouldn't solve anything I hope when the time comes his family gets the same treatment that he gave me. read more

After calling around to find a place to cremate my father, these guys seemed to have the best price. However it took almost TWO MONTHS for his ashes to be returned to us. Every time we called there was some excuse that was blamed on the doctor not signing the death certificate in a timely manner or correctly. They suggested we call the hospital in hopes of expediting the process but the hospital said they are only authorized to deal with the mortuary. My father was returned home well beyond the 14 business days that they say would be the maximum time it will take to complete the service I paid for. Additionally, they made a mistake typing up the information for his death certificate and put in an incorrect date for his birthday which will cost even more money and time to fix. When I called to address the issue I was met with a very inconsiderate attitude and didn't have any fight left in me to deal with it. You may be better off spending a bit more to receive better service and care for your loved one. read more

Sunrise Cremation has been wonderful to me and my family, not once, but twice. First with my father in 2003 and recently with my husband's passing on Nov 30th. I don't remember the first person we worked with for my father, but he was wonderful, as was Daniel O, for my husband. They were very caring and respectful in handling all aspects of our loved ones as well as our needs. I would highly recommend them. They were very caring and compassionate and not "about the sale", like traditional funeral homes I have been to, where they prey on your grief and fogged judgment for making decisions that will put you in the poor house. I do not ordinarily write reviews, but upon reading the first, I must interject. Sunrise was the forth place I contacted after my husband died. My initial phone call to Sunrise was answered immediately by Thomas,and all of my questions were resolved honestly and accurately. Other places of business had placed me on hold, played horrible elevator music, and eventually transferred me to a person who fiend empathy. When I was in the middle of my tour of the third place I consulted, I knew instinctively. There was only one person I trusted to care for the love of my life. I wanted my darling to be in the very best hands. I chose Thomas. Not Sunrise, not La Paloma, though they furnished the room for an incredible service, and not Desert Memorial, who had me emotionally contracted from the beginning. Afterall, they picked him up from our home, and I wanted to be loyal. All was said and done, and I know my Baby was in the best of hands. In response to JK, I am sorry you were frustrated. I, too, had blank spots because I could not remember Shawn's parent's names. They died before I could meet them, and as you know, during such a stressful time, one's mental recollection is not it's best. I told Thomas that it was okay to put "unknown", and that he should just get my baby back to me as soon as possible. When I discovered their names and wanted to add them to the death certificate, it was too late. I think if Thomas expressed any hesitation, it really was to meet your needs. Wish there was an option for no stars. I was never able to get ahold of anyone. After having a family memeber sent there i called to see if they had made it. Never heard from a soul. I left notes on the door, their business hours do not apply to the lady that works there i guess. No phone call was ever returned. After a note and a few voice-mail still nothing. Over a month had gone by and still no word from them that my loved one was ready to be picked up. Were they never going to call?! Customer service was horriable. I would't take my loved one here. They take advantage of your grief and get as much money while tourtering you. My friend died in april and still isn't interned. I paid them to ship remains to the cemetary for service. A month later I called to arrange the service and was informed the VA cematary didn't even have the remains. When I called Sunrise several times with no answer back I finialy was told they didn't ship because they needed more money to fill paperwork for the VA cemertary Why didn't they tell me that before.
