Love his place. Was in the area for work and passed it a couple times. You know the unassuming places are the best. Yelped it and it got great reviews. You also know if law enforcement is eating there for dinner it's good. The woman who I believe is the owner is very sweet and helpful. She smiled about everything I asked about. Zero stars! I used to come here often, kept giving it a chance.. they always got my food wrong or made me wait a long time. One time they even forgot about me, I waited an hour, because I'm a patient person and thought ok maybe they are short staffed, but honestly I couldn't wait longer and When I enquired about my food, the cashier asked me for my receipt and said they must have forgotten about me.. after that I swore I'd never go back.. but then my sister offered to pick something up for me today.. What happened to this place?! It used to be a good place to go eat. I'm sad to see this place turn bad. I had The Sunrise Breakfast which was 2 sausage patties, 2 bacon strips, 2 eggs, some hash browns, and a choice of bread or pancake. So I go with the 1 pancake on the side. My sausage patties bad, my bacon strips were bad, my eggs were good, my hash browns was good my pancake was huge and good. My Dad ordered The ABC Omelette with hash browns and a English muffin he said the Omelette was bad the bacon in the Omelette wasn't cooked and the egg color of the Omelette looked gray. It gave him mild food poisoning. I got mild food poisoning from my meal I ate from here too. I'm sad. What a waste of my money and my time. Well At least the service was good and my Dad's milkshake was good. I won't ever be returning to this place ever again especially after I got food poisoning from eating at this place. read more

This is one of my favorite hamburger places. They give a big hamburger and a lot of thick fries. The whole meal with hamburger, fries, and soda is less than $10. The best deli in town! We have been going here since they opened. It's family owned and the food is always excellent in taste and quality. I love the food here but never seem to get my order right. I went in a few days ago to give them a try again and it looks like they are trying to improve the training. Hopefully they can get it together soon because the food is great. I've been going there for years and just recently have they started messing up on my orders. This place is awesome (5 star) for sandwiches, so we decided to try it for breakfast , but we were disappointed. There were four of us. Three ordered eggs and hash browns and one ordered a waffle. The portions were large and the price was reasonable, but all the food was served cold. There is nothing worse than soggy, cold hash browns and toast. It wasn't very busy and the food should have been hot. We will continue to buy sandwiches here but will not return for breakfast. VERY disappointing. read more

I honestly had to make a Yelp account just to say how good this place is ! I go every Wed around 5pm with my coworkers and the food is always great! I don't know what it is about Wednesday afternoons, maybe different cooks but I love it ! The cashier (Maria) is such a sweetheart and is always so helpful at recommending new things for me to try. She got me obsessed with the New Jersey Devil ! My god it is so good ! The staff is always nice too, and they have a nice vibe going on and can tell they love taking care of their customers. My dad used to take me and my brothers here every Saturday, and I used to order different things every week and loved it no matter what I got. The owners were always working there, and their family were the employees. You could always tell that they cared about their business and worked hard to make the experience, and the food, enjoyable. Now that there are new owners, this authenticity and love put into the food is gone. Now the employees are not really that nice or helpful, and just want to take your order so they get their hourly pay. Why is Sunrise awesome? It has a spongy Astro Turf deck. Bullet holes in the windows and is centered on Campo Road were you can enjoy watching all the "interesting" people roam the streets. This place is classic Spring Valley and provides a perfect location for some free entertainment. The food is delicious and cheap. I would recommend the juicy burger. Big burger, fries and a drink for less than five bucks including tax. Good food, good prices and free entertainment, what more could you ask for? Only thing negative I have to say is no bathroom, no free refills, and does not except credit cards. read more

Good bye Sunrise Deli. I have been coming here for almost 7 years. But since the placed changed ownership (in which they lied about in the beginning talking about there on vacation) the place slowly went to sh*t. It's not the "now" cardboard tasting fries they have, or the burnt chicken nuggets that my son got tonight that really gave the place 1 star. What really did it was the dead lettuce they had under my hamburger and my son's chicken nuggets. I mean the lettuce under the chicken nuggets were obviously for presentation for the food. But when the lettuce is pretty much 80 percent dead and they STILL put it there shows me the character of this place. They just don't care like they use too. The breakfasts are awesome the sandwiches delish. i usually get a turkey and cheese pita. they have lunch combos combined with a soups. i've had a tortilla soup here before that was delicious. one of the better deli's around town. read more

They always have good specials and they are on the signs outside which is what drew me in. However, you get what you pay for I guess but I was not pleased with my food. I've tried several things from here: fish & chips, Philly cheese steak, cheeseburger & fries. The burger was dry, fish was disgusting, philly was ok but I've had better. I mean I want to like them, nice people and all but all food has been under par for me. They don't take credit/debit so you better bring cash! Also it's on the corner and hardly any parking street wise or parking lot which has about 3 stalls. I might give it another shot maybe a cold sandwich since they are more of a deli. I love the Sunrise Deli. I work in Spring Valley and this is by far the BEST place to grab lunch! I have ordered something different almost everytime and have never been dissapointed. The portions are huge (I always have left overs to take home). The prices are very inexpensive, my favorite sandwhich is under $6. All the sandwhiches come with a side (french fries, salad, potato salad, coleslaw etc) and a large drink. They even have delicious milkshakes now. Found this place on yelp and the tj hotdog caught my eye. Sadly Not as great. The bun was hard like if it were microwaved. I got the mac n cheese and was definitely packed and watery with no flavor. I have no clue why people eat here. Maybe no one around this area has ever had a good sandwich but this place is less then even ok. We gave them 2 tries to see if it was a fluke the first time but it wasn't. The avocado on the sandwich I bought had black spots on it and the macaroni salad must have went bad cause it tasted like vinegar. Very gross and low scale food. It was too much sauce for me though. I'll ask for sauce on the side next time. TUNA MELT - 3 out of 5 - My boyfriend packed this for lunch at work. Everyone I work with raves about this place so I thought I would give it a try. I ordered the grilled chicken salad. It took MORE THAN 30 min to get (I called ahead for "faster service"),they didn't have any dressing, my order was wrong, and the lady at the counter had NO idea what was in anything they made. We have come here for breakfast and lunch multiple times and loved it, so I'm disappointed not only to write this review but also to not want to come back here. Ordered our food to go, got home and realized the sprouts I asked for on my sandwich were missing, the avocado that was supposed to come on my bf's sandwich was missing and his shrimp sandwich literally had one shrimp cut in half in half the sandwich. The staff is very friendly and the food is made to order but it doesn't take long for you to get your order.
