I love coming here for my international seasonings. It makes my food so authentic. They have a seafood boil spot and the hot food bar is delicious. My only issue is when they switch the store around ingredients are stocked in different aisles that don't make sense. There isn't a Caribbean aisle, or Japanese aisle. Things are all over.

    This was post sauce additions.

Love this grocery store and so close to my neighborhood! Sad the new restaurant pho wasn't that exciting. Broth lacked flavor. Not the worst pho I've had, but wished for better. They should keep fish sauce in the tables and work on building that broth flavor! So many good ingredients right at their finger tips. :( bummer. Also the plastic spoon they provided isn't going to help much. Luckily I am proficient with chopsticks.

Sunrise, which has a pretty solid market at the intersection of Kenny & Henderson, recently opened up another location out on West Broad, directly across from the casino. I happened to be out that way a week ago, and figured I would go check them out. They're still opening up, and it shows. Expect to see some unpainted drywall, and lots of unopened boxes. There were a couple of pauses for various product codes at checkout, although the cashiers themselves were both friendly and helpful. The fresh vegetable selection was decent, but not necessarily better than you would find in the much smaller nearby Asian markets (specifically Lucs and Westgate Thai, both on Sullivant). There was a comprehensive, and frankly, kind of overwhelming selection of frozen and packaged goods, and it appears that the back portion of the store is devoted to wholesale supply, in case you run an Asian restaurant. Bulk fish roe, anyone? The highlight was probably the Hong Kong-style roasted meats stand, which had a nice assortment of choices: roasted duck, soy sauce chicken, roasted pork, char siu, among others. I got the duck, and it was as good as at the Sunrise location on Henderson, and probably about as good as you'll find in town. So three stars for now, but I'll check them out again in a couple of months, when they've painted all the drywall, and hopefully increased their vegetable choices.

But this market is so much more than a bakery. It offers an impressive selection of specialty items, including a wonderful wine section and many other unique products worth exploring. I love the coconut cloud iced and I just tried the orange blossom latte. Both were memorable and worth a return trip. I keep trying something different with my drink (food wise) and most things have been misses. The breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich=miss for me and quite pricey for grab and go. I will say the broccoli cheddar soup in the deli/middle was off the charts good at one of my visits in the fall. I have eaten in the cafe once and service was good (most of my experiences have been in the coffee shop area). The French onion soup was fantastic. The spinach artichoke pastry was good. Overall, the coffee is worth a return trip. Definitely a fan for the coffee. Not a fan overall for the food and service.

And it's not just a store. We actually came for the restaurant, which isn't much of a much, essentially the deli counter at the store. But oh, the treasures you'll find. They have a very basic menu- burritos, tortas, etc.- but arrayed in the cases are tons of premade bulk items. You can fill up a container with meats, rice, beans, whatever. Too much to choose from. Drinks were pretty much horchata or hibiscus, but of course you can grab a bottle from nearby coolers, and there is an actual bar right there too. We dined in, essentially felt like a food court. And had some of the best Mexican food in town. Beef in several sauces, ribs done 5 ways, a couple kinds of rice and beans, and much more. I was stuffed. Baby K got a cheese quesadilla and said it was the best she ever had, for what that's worth (it looked really good.) The horchata was very good. My friend had a torta plus some ribs and beef, and loved all of it. Then we went to the market, and it was a blast too. Got some baked goods, candy, drinks, etc. Plenty of dry goods, produce, meats, and much more. Friendly helpful staff, though a definite language barrier so be patient and remember your high school Spanish. We'll definitely be back. Lots of good food to try, and new ingredients to explore. Plus their macaroni salad looked amazing.

Honest review here…read more We just returned from a Mothers Day celebration at the Hollywood Casino and The Lounge at Final Cut. We had reservations and had eaten here previously. We all had done OK in the casino and were ready for a few drinks and some good food. The service was excellent! Shout out to the servers at Final Cut! very pleasant and attentive. The drinks were great! The bang-bang shrimp appetizer was very good and pleasantly spicy. The shrimp cocktail was great. The shrimp are large and have a good bite. The cocktail sauce is nice and horseradishy...if you know what I mean. The big mak egg rolls were kind of disappointing??? The wedge salads were excellent. A great wedge is hard to beat. very good. The bread was great. We had plenty, and it was warm. Our table of 4 ordered 3 entrees. 2 orders of prime rib....Disappointing. Not tender. Crust was sooo salty it couldn't be eaten. Really struggled cutting a medium/medium rare cut. :( 1 order of the new york strip....medium, but overcooked. Personally, I would never order a steak medium. Also not tender at all. Overall, the meat entrees were a big disappointment and for this reason, we probably won't return. Brussels sprouts and steak potatoes were also excellent. Unfortunately the beef was hard to ignore.
