Honest review here. We just returned from a Mothers Day celebration at the Hollywood Casino and The Lounge at Final Cut. We had reservations and had eaten here previously. We all had done OK in the casino and were ready for a few drinks and some good food. The service was excellent! Shout out to the servers at Final Cut! very pleasant and attentive. The drinks were great! The bang-bang shrimp appetizer was very good and pleasantly spicy. The shrimp cocktail was great. The shrimp are large and have a good bite. The cocktail sauce is nice and horseradishy...if you know what I mean. The big mak egg rolls were kind of disappointing??? The wedge salads were excellent. A great wedge is hard to beat. very good. The bread was great. We had plenty, and it was warm. Our table of 4 ordered 3 entrees. 2 orders of prime rib....Disappointing. Not tender. Crust was sooo salty it couldn't be eaten. Really struggled cutting a medium/medium rare cut. :( 1 order of the new york strip....medium, but overcooked. Personally, I would never order a steak medium. Also not tender at all. Overall, the meat entrees were a big disappointment and for this reason, we probably won't return. Brussels sprouts and steak potatoes were also excellent. The absolute worst steak I have ever had! I cannot even get over how bad the food was and the service was subpar. I should have taken a photo of the lousy steaks we were served. Service was slow. We were never asked if we wanted another drink. We decided to get out of there and go somewhere else for our entertainment for the night. We couldn't leave fast enough. My husband ordered med rare and his steak was burnt. No caramelization on the outside but that bitter burnt taste. Unbelievable. Overpriced!!! Appleby's would serve a better steak! read more

The server was very nice and pleasant, very good service by our waitress. Ambience was nice. Our crab cake app was good but very small, could barely share it with my date without getting another. My $14 side salad was disappointing, it was nothing but a plate of sliced tomatoes and a few balls of cheese tossed on it and it was very salty, I didn't eat it other than taking a couple bites. My steak was disappointing too. I got it medium and it came out too dry and burnt on the outside to be considered medium. And again, way too much salt. Stop drowning the food in salt, there's no need for that if you're using fresh, high quality ingredients. Overall I feel this place is way overpriced for a mediocre tasting steak dinner. If I'm dropping close to $300 on dinner for two then the food needs to be amazing; not just okay like this meal was. read more

We usually really like this place but this latest visit the service was poor and the food was lacking. First we waited 45 min to get our drinks and appetizer. When they arrived the cocktails were made poorly and over hearing other tables we were not the only ones. As for the app we got the Crab Cake and at first we thought they forgot to put it on the plate. It was less of a cake and more a tiny clump of crab. The lemon wedge was larger than our portion. Then our waiter came to tell us the specials at which point he told us the app special and the entire specials that were gone at 7:30. The main courses were fine though my husband definitely got to small of a cut of steak and the. We sat there for 30 minutes waiting for our server to show back up and bring us our check. read more

DELICIOUS! I went to try their tasting menu that you can get a wine pairing with. They have a sommelier (who is from France) to explain to you all the wines. It was such an amazing meal. Some of my favorites was the ravioli and steak. I am still thinking about this meal. The chef came out and explained each part of our meal also. read more

Party of 5 of us around 5'ish Niv 28. Seated at a table but pretty much just wanted to order drinks and appetizers before gambling. Waiter was a male whose nam II don't remember but he did not have much in the area of customer service skills & almost seemed annoyed that he had to wait on us. Not very pleasant nor chatty in any way which affected his tip from some of us. Our dri k order was lemon martini's, which were delicious. Our appetizers were some sort of dip,baked potatoes , brussel sprouts and steak bites. Dip was overpowered by way too much cheese & bread for dipvwas too hard to eat, baked potato wasn't that hot,brussel sprouts were okay and steak bites were definitely the star of the appetizers which I would order again.. Overall next trip I would go to the bar to get the reduced price appetizers and ask for different waiter if I was introduced to the same one. again. read more

For my birthday and Valentine's Day this year (they are back to back) my boyfriend planned an evening reminiscent of one of our first trips together... in Vegas! We both got dressed up and headed to Hollywood Casino. This restaurant is located inside and we arrived a little before our reservation so we meandered around for a while. When it came time to eat there was a little confusion about our reservations but eventually I asked if it mattered and if we could get a table. Thankfully, we got seated right away. Our server was friendly and attentive from the jump. We ordered a bottle of wine to start and nibbled on the rolls they put on the table. As for entrees, I went with a ceasar salad and the salmon. The boyfriend went with the ribeye. The salmon came with a butternut squash purée, lemon kale, and a maple glaze. I ate every bite of the salmon and the salad was alright. We both had a pretty good experience here but I honestly wouldn't come back unless I was planning to visit the casino. It's not located in an area where I could come just to eat. read more

As a stand alone restaurant review is a 2.5. Service ranges 1-4 but averages a 2. Must be low tip jon as low tier service staff? Food is a 3, some days a 4 but half the time is over cooked OR fatty/cheaper cut of meat than menu indicates. Is mid OK for captive Casino evening crowd but they know that and feels like max profit goal by cheaper ingredients and ? Staff? Came here for dinner for my mother's birthday prior to gambling. Seated at 7:00 PM. It is currently 8:31 PM and still have not received our food. Waitress is very nice but the management is god awful. Waiting this long at a restaurant like this is unacceptable. I will never be coming back. We are absolutely disgusted with the quality. If there is anyone that monitors these reviews that is in management at The Lounge at Final Cut, it would be nice to receive some sort of compensation considering our bill will be over $1000 and this service is atrocious. Proportions extremely tiny steak overcooked twice do not order medium they don't know what they're doing

This place is horrible. The customer service is lacking. The waiter literally told us that we would had to hurry up and order because the kitchen was closing, but we had reservations for 9:30pm and arrived 10min early. He basically tried to rush me through my order. I explained to him that this was our first time trying this place out and he gave us some time, but quickly came back so we just went ahead and ordered. First red flag. We started with the calamari. Horrible choice. The calamari was soft and the breading was falling off. We sent it back and asked for another order fried harder. We thought this would fix the problem. It did not. The second order was harder but too salty, so we couldn't eat that one either. After that we just set our hopes on the entree. That was mistake. I ordered the T-bone steak (medium) with Mac and cheese. The order was delivered quickly, but it was over cooked (well-done) and the Mac and cheese was more like a mini alfredo. I had to send the steak back, but I kept the "mac and cheese" because at this point I didn't think they could cook anything correct. The steak came back medium, but was a weird consistency.....almost like it was steamed or boiled (very strange). The steak was also grey in color, but oddly had some flavor. I think it sat in a bag for a long period of time.....longer than any meat is supposed to. I know this sounds weird. I didn't take a pic of it because I was ready to go after this. We did not order a bottle of wine (like we normally do) because I could not stay in this pretend high-quality restaurant any longer. This place was unbelievably bad. Why even take reservations at 9:30pm if your kitchen cannot or will not deliver the same quality of service during this time? Or is this the standard the cooks/chefs work under all day? Not sure......but they need lower the prices because nothing was worth the money we spent that night (Valentine's Day). We could have received better food at any local bar. I've been here one other time, years ago witH my now husband. Tonight I went here with my husband and in laws for a nice dinner before a show that was playing at the casino. We had a reservation, but when we were sat, I believe we were the only ones in the place at 5:15. Our server came out with a complimentary snack for everyone. It was sushi grade salmon on top of a cucumber slice. Sounds gross but was excellent! For my entree, I ordered the salmon, and everyone else either had a fillet or ribeye. We also ordered the puréed potatoes and the mushrooms and onions, none of which I ate. Next came the bread service, which I wasn't expecting. Full loaf of brioche served with sea salt butter, cinnamon butter and strawberry eddy marmalade. It was excellent as well. Then our entrees came. Everyone's steak came out and looked great, was cooked to perfection and they all enjoyed them. My salmon oh man my salmon was so good! Spicy on the salmon and the saUce was sweet. It came on a bed of collard greens that were so tasty! The first time I came here I have their beef Wellington. They no longer offer this on their menu which is highly disappointing as finally cUt was one of the only places in Columbus to get a beef Wellington. This is why they're not getting 5 stars. My husband had a glass of port, and in laws had some coffee, and we were on our way. We will definitely be back, especially if they add the Wellington back to their menu! read more

In all the reviews I have ever done THIS will be my first 100% negative entry. We made reservations based on an email I received via Instagram. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It truly looks like something you would find in Vegas. So far, so good. Let's note the positives of the meal- there were two. My date and I split the crab cakes...big thumbs up! Flaky, fresh and well-seasoned. She also had the French onion soup. Deep and hearty with a decent amount of gruyere cheese. Perhaps slightly over salted but easily overlooked. The meal went downhill from there. I started with the Caesar salad. Mundane. Pedestrian. Tiny. The dressing was run of the mill. Nothing fresh made here. Sadly, the croutons were as soft as marshmallows. We both ordered the bone-in pork chop. Each entree comes with one side dish. My date chose maple-glazed carrots and I chose a baked potato. The carrots were extremely al dente! As if they had been peeled and blanched for 1 to 2 minutes. Much too under cooked. My baked potato was a disaster. Dark and reheated several times over. The interior skin of the potato was scorched black (see pics posted with this review). And then there was the $26 bone-in pork chop. $26. Twenty-six dollars got us a quarter inch thick loin chop that anyone can buy at their local supermarket. No brine on those dry, over-cooked leathery pieces of pork! PLEASE view the images I have posted. You will find the proof of a truly underwhelming culinary effort. We used to love this place. We went on Friday night at 6:45. The waiter said they were already out of Prime Rib. It wasn't super busy, so my guess is they never had any prime rib, which is what we were planning on having. Anyway, I ordered the ribeye and my husband ordered the 8 oz. filet. The ribeye didn't look or taste like a ribeye at all. It looked like a fake premade piece of meat. It was really tough and zero flavor. My husband's filet looked very small, no way it was 8 oz. and it looked fake. I'm not sure what kind of meat they are serving. It reminded me of a McRib sandwich, where it looks like meat, but who really knows what it's is??? Our server was very nice, but the service was extremely slow. Over 2 1/2 hrs for 2 steaks and a salad and never filled our water glasses. I finally filled my own. Too bad it's not good any more. We loved going there when we are at the casino. My original reservation was at 4pm on. 23 Sunday 2018. I was disappointed from the steak the server recommend 16 oz bone in Kansas steak, he say its more flavor and dry aged. It was very under cooked, rare steak, i asked for medium rare pink center cut. The bone was super raw and center of a 2inch steak was also raw. I didn't like that (they) server and manager accuse me of eating half the steak. I promise that i only took two slices and the third slice of raw steak i left on the plate. The manager cody corrected the steak, but he also made it right, by exchanging the steak for a sea bass plate at my request. Also he say the chef apologize. They make good on a promise. Price adjustment to the total bill amount due. The only difference from my first 2 times dining here was the waiters both asked me to cut into the steak, when tonight he failed to ask. He asked if it taste ok, and i say it was fine the first edge of steak bite. The first cut was fine but the next was rare and i cut near the bone very tough to cut i had a feeling it was good quality steak and it was majorly undercooked. I asked for medium rare steak, pink in the center. I wouldn't recomend the Kansas bone in rib eye steak 16 oz, my original plan was to get the 24oz bone in rib eye steak. Spent a very pleasant evening at the Final Cut Steakhouse mainly because of the company. We were at The Final Cut for a pre show dinner meal with our Son and Daughter in Law. ( A fellow Yelper)We had a very early reservation (5:15) so there was not much ambience in the restaurant. We have been to The Final Cut many times but it never (for me) hit all my senses it's hard for me to put this into words but it just doesn't live up to my expectation as an upscale steak-house, service and food were OK but again it just lack something!!!. They have a captive clientele so it will continue to flourish, we will continue to frequent because of that. read more

I went into this restaurant to grab some food while waiting for a friend who just happened to be on a good run on one of the high stakes Blackjack tables. The restaurant is located right inside the casino so it's very convenient & well designed. Now on to the food, I had the dry-aged New York strip steak, with Mac & Cheese and Calamari as an appetizer. The food took awhile but that I didn't really bother me because I got caught up watching the March Madness games on the two TVs located inside the restaurant. When I did my food, however, made it all worth it. The Calamari tasted fresh & crispy. The Mac & Cheese was delicious. The only thing that didn't blow me away was the steak. I selected medium rare & it was well cooked but it was a bit too salty for my liking. That's literally the only thing I didn't like. While we couldn't make a reservation online for a party of 8, they did accommodate after giving them a call. For a Saturday evening, the service was great. Courteous and quick. Started off with one bottle of wine and the waitress quickly recommended two bottles (great idea!). The cost was decent given the casino location (under $40). Our apps arrived within 15 mins. Caprese salad was good. Calamari was OKAY. A few of us paired in two and shared a ribeye medium rare. It was delicious! Would recommend to split if you're not wanting to get too full. Also ordered mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Great combo. It was one of our girlfriends birthday. The waitress happily brought yummy dessert where we each had a spoon to split. Would definitely go here again. Though... I hear the menu had more options before the pandemic. Hope they will add more items. read more

Ate here for the first time in a couple of years. They need help. Went from a great steakhouse to something close to Ponderosa. Had the calamari and it was too breaded and salty. Filet was good but not great. I was looking forward to the jalapeño potatoes as I thought they did these scalloped back in the day. Potato soup is what it resembled. Don't roll the dice here. We made reservations for a birthday dinner on Saturday, December 30th, haven't been there since the pre-pandemic, thought it would be fun. Drinks were good but the service was slow and the food was ok and extremely overpriced. Biggest disappointment of the meal was the "scallops ($16) and 6 oz Lobster Tail ($38) that we added to our Filets. Both came out cold and when we said something to our server he said that he could have Chef heat them up. Apparently doesn't know seafood. When we sat down, our server asked if we were celebrating anyting, and we said yes "a birthday". At the end of the meail he brought out this little dish of maybe sherbet with spoonful of whipped cream. As a gesture, I'm not complaining, but to find $2 on our bill for a birthday dessert was just too much. Food was mediocre overall, 45 mins between ordering our entrees and receiving them, and the $2 poke in the eye ... never again. You would have a better meal, experience and night if you would just go to Applebees and give the server a $200 tip. read more

let me start by saying, this is the first review I've ever given last Friday night I had a reservation for 4 people at 6 pm I was with my wife, mother and her new boyfriend This was approximately my fifth time at the restaurant and always for the most part had a positive experience . This experience was certainly different. the restaurant was about 25% percent filled. we were treated by a very friendly waitress and we ordered drinks and apps. my moms wine, my wife's and I diet cokes were served in a timely manner. But we were missing two bottles of beer. One of the 3 apps was served by itself, still no beer. We reached the 45 minute mark of the dining experience. Still missing the two beers for my wife and my mom's boyfriend. Also missing the two other appetizers. I left the table and found the manager. I explained that we still didn't have drinks for two people and missing the other apps. He assured me that he was on top of it. The manager brought the two beers. Somehow the bottle of beer spilled on my mom's boyfriend. The two other apps came minutes later. Once we reached the 90 minute point of the dining experienc, I asked the manager when will our main courses be served? He sniped, I'm sorry everything doesn't come out all at once. I explained we ordered two med rare steaks and two pasta dishes. He then said they had a couple bigger parties that were holding things up. I explained that my wife and I have a sitter for the kids and want to gamble. About 15 min later or main courses showed up. We're now an hour and forty five minutes in and we finally have our food. The food was fine and we declined dessert because we just wanted to leave. The waitress brought the bill and said the manager was very sorry about the experience and as compensation he took the two beers off my bill. Now I've worked in restaurants for many years. It's common practice that when service goes Bad the manager does a table touch at the end of the experience I paid the bill and still left a 25% tip. Because like I said the waitress was nice but for one reason or another the experience went bad. Also, I have worked in restaurants for many years and know how hard the job is. However, when one is paying for a premium experience it's not outside the lines to expect at least a good experience. Instead we just received excuses and sarcasm from the manager. Too sum it up, I was mostly disappointed for my mom and her boyfriend. we still had fun that night. But the experience at the final Cut certainly was negative on the evening. Partner treated me to a belated 35th Birthday dinner. We had tried Final Cut Steak and Seafood a few years earlier during 614 Restaurant Week, and we left less than impressed. So we both entered not to trilled about going back with the menu prices, but we both believe in second chances. (Plus I wanted to get my gambling on) It was a Friday night around 730pm. We did not have a reservation, nor were we dressed to impress. (both of us had on jeans and a nice shirt.) Partner walked up to the stand and asked how the long the wait would be, the hostess asked if we had a reservation, and after hearing No, asked for his name, and so other items, and asked if we wanted to eat at the bar area, or table. We picked table. A different hostess seated us, and we had just sat down and the server was already there, asking if we wanted a water, were we celebrating anything, and told us about some signature cocktails and wine list by the bottle or glass. (Side note, we've been on a low carb diet for a few months and this was not a cheat meal.) We didn't order any, but I know next time, I'm drinking the cocktail menu because they all sounded amazing. We placed an appetizer order of Jumbo Bacon Wrapped Shrimp. Should have taken a picture, because it looked like something off of Top Chef. It was the perfect size for an app for two. The shrimp didn't know they were shrimp with their size, and the bacon was staller. Partner ordered the porterhouse, and I ordered the filet topped with Claw lobster meat. Both steaks were cooked to a perfect Med. Seasoned well and served hot. The porterhouse was as large as the plate. We also ordered two sides, which are to be shared, so one said will be perfect next time. The Brandied carrots and truffle mac and cheese. (We did cheat on our diet with the carrots and mac and cheese.) The carrots were out of this park. Honestly, I think I could go back and just order the carrots. I didn't eat the truffle mac and cheese, but partner said it was just ok and nothing special and compared it to a Velveeta shells and cheese but classier. Thanks to our server explaining to us Dry Aged, cook times, cuts and other items, we felt confrontable in the choices we made. The server really put this visit over the top for us. We had a very enjoyable dinner out and we were able to talk, have a good meal, and kick off our weekend, and my 35th Bday. read more

This was my 4th time dining at Final Cut Steakhouse at Hollywood Casino Columbus. The first 3 meals were outstanding - especially the New York Strip. Prior to tonight's meal it has been 2 years since last dining at Final Cut. This restaurant has declined drastically and the New York Strip steaks didn't resemble the steaks from our first 3 meals; however, price remained the same. Truthfully, I've had better steaks at Applebee's for a fraction of the price. Our baked potatoes were only slightly warm - definitely not even close to hot. What the heck happened to this restaurant? After years of my wife and I telling each other we will eat here for our birthdays, this is the year we did it and what a disappointment. Service was good at the beginning and the first round of food was good. We split the cheese platter and shrimp cocktail. After that it went from bad to a disaster. French Onion soup was ok but nothing really to write home about. My wife's salad was limp and soggy. You would expect more from a high-end restaurant. Dinner was absolutely terrible. I ordered the $45 ribeye steak (medium) and she had the shrimp scampi. Both of us had the glazed carrots and I added the sautéed onions and mushrooms. The sauteed onions and mushrooms had the most flavor for my dinner. The carrot dish was undercooked, and my steak was over cooked. This piece of meat was less than a 1/2 thick and maybe 4 1/2 inches in diameter. The shrimp scampi was way short of being in a rich creamy sauce and just did not meet what you expect for the money you are spending. We were never approached by another server the rest of the night except for the person that refills the water glass. No one ask us how our dinner was. Could not get out of there fast enough. We really do not mind spending money in high dollar restaurants, but this is this first time I have ever written a negative review for these types of restaurants. So here's the deal. I take a lot into consideration in writing meaningful reviews being sure to take into consideration the obvious and not so obvious. I like to give a common sense review that is geared to the average diner just like me. I have to say that leading up to this review I scrutinized previous reviewers and committed myself to walk the impartial line. So here it is as fair and real as I can be. Long story short...3 stars. The good: Generous portions Interesting atmosphere Quality food ingredients Nice presentation of plated items The not so good; Too expensive Poorly executed delivery of food. Luke warm at best Undercooked meat per generally acceptable standards Overcooked and limp vegetable sides Bland wait staff with little enthusiasm or knowledge of preparation methods Suspected staged desert and not fresh to order Booth seats not conducive to intimate couples dining Limited side dishes lacking vegetable selections Shallow wine offerings Yes, more negative than positive but an honest review of what really matters given the high price of experience. They have what it takes to make this a unique experience but failed to execute properly. Unless serious changes are forthcoming, it will be a while before I venture back for a second visit. Columbus had so much to offer that it surprises me this establishment hasn't worked harder to shine amongst the other stars in the market. I went to this restaurant, located in the Hollywood Casino, because I am a serious carnivore and because of its 4 star rating award from Forbes Travel Guide. My dinner companions and I were curious. We arrived on a Saturday evening for our 6:45 p.m. reservation with Open Table. We were immediately served a "taste" from the Chef. I can't remember what they called it, but it seemed to be some sort of pate. Actually, very tasty and giving us high hopes of what was to come. Unfortunately, that would be about 50 minutes later, when our meals arrived. Thank goodness for the brioche bread served. I have never had this sweet bread served at any other restaurant I have been to, and it was a nice change. I'll keep it simple. The steaks, were pretty good, not great like you would expect from a 4 star restaurant with a price tag to match. We had the small filet tenderloin and the prime rib. The prime rib was warm, bordering on cool until you poured the Au jus on it. The rib eye tasted much better, and would recommend it. Everything is a la carte and you can quickly rack up the cost. Our sides included asparagus and horseradish mash potatoes. The potatoes were overly salty. We asked our waiter to advise the Chef of the excessive salt, and he not only agreed, but he took it off our bill!! We were impressed with his responsiveness. The atmosphere was fine. big booths and tables. The booths are not really conducive for a party of four to have conversations. Decor is not memorable, but it is in a casino. You will find people of all kinds there, and similarly dressed. Don't sweat what to wear, "whatever" works. We would recommend making reservations, when we were leaving, there were groups of people waiting. To be fair, this was my first visit. Both the food and service were incredible. Yes, pricey-but no more so than comparable fine dining restaurants (such as Mitchell's). The owner greeted us and led us to our table. The ambience was perfect for a romantic dinner. I ordered the filet topped with lobster claw and we shared the a side. We chose the lobster smoked gouda Mac n Cheese. It was incredible! Our server, Tiana, was knowledgeable about the menu and very efficient. We will definitely be back. To address some of the complaints I saw before dining there; it seems like many of them are dated when there was different management and some complaints are just unreasonable. Prices change, and sometimes restaurants are crowded and staff are overwhelmed by it. If you want cheap and fast, go through a drive -thru. read more
