I just got literally the best customer service today. I came in last Wednesday and got a french tip shellac with my real nails (i am trying to grow them out). They didn't really come out as planned and began to chip :/ AND THEN, I called sunrise to see if they could fix it, they happily told me to come in whenever! Tina did such an AMAZING job on my nails, they recommended doing dip instead of shellac on real nails because it'll keep them stronger and longer. So of course I agreed. Tina was very attentive and made sure I was happy with my nails through the whole process. First time coming to try something close to home. Had dip powder on my nails and just wanted a regular manicure with regular nail polish. From the get go it didn't seem like they paid much attention to me. There were at least two techs sitting and texting on their phones and finally one looked up to chisel the dip off my nails. I had made an appointment, and after that one manicurist chiseled the dip off I was left to sit alone and wait for some one else. Other people came in after me without an appointment and were seen before me (they got pedicures so maybe it's a specialty thing I don't know). Then that person came, sat for a minute then moved onto someone else next to me, to come back to me minutes later. All the while he handled my nails it seemed a bit rough. I didn't complain because it didn't seem on purpose and I've never had my nails done by a man. Then it happened when he clipped the cuticle and I started bleeding A LOT. He finished the job, escorted me where to sit for my nails to dry without telling me for how long, if he'd come get me etc. I was never offered water or the like (mind you I am 6 months pregnant). He goes on to work on someone else and after 8 minutes I decide I'm just going to leave. Paid and even left a decent tip. I will not be coming back at all. I know accidents or mistakes happen, but the lack of communication or prioritizing your customer just rubbed me the wrong way especially since it is my first time there. Been to other places where they seem happy you came in to give them a try, offer you water at least, and work on you from start to finish, and it seemed to be the norm. Much to my surprise wanting this norm for just a regular manicure didn't happen. read more

Took myself my 2 daughters we were all rushed. My daughters shellac manicure literally took 9 mins. Hands weren't even under the lights for the required times. Very over priced for the lack of services they provide. Toes didn't even get painted correctly. Could have done better myself and saved $170 read more

Unfortunately made an appointment left me sitting for 25 minutes. Magically the prices went up from 30 to 45 doing the same things I did two weeks prior. Between constantly changing prices and making customers wait even though they have appointment I will never return to this place. By the way the explanation for why my nails were uneven was due to some of my nails growing faster than others read more

Came here for the first time as I just moved to the area near Bulverde. Luckily, this place is 5 minutes away from my house and I am so happy! I walked in on a Sunday morning and they were able to take me right away for a pedicure. I got the organic Lavender Pedicure which includes a massage and paragon wax+scrub. Tina did my pedicure today and was so sweet and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. She really took her time with my massage and did a really great job cleaning up my nails. I will definitely be a regular now! Their staff are super friendly and the receptionist was also very nice and accommodating. read more

Trying a new nail place out which is hard to do since I'm so faithful to my regular place. But today I had to and I left very disappointed. Look we spend a good amount of money at nail salons to not be satisfied. The first issue was I was handed the dip color samples to pick my colors and when I finally selected my color, they told me oh that one is extra charge from $40 increase to $60! That's quite an increase, I mentioned that they should be separated or clearly marked that that have a surcharge. I selected the regular dip. One good thing the nail technician did was quickly dip an acrylic nail so I could see the real color. I told her my appreciation because sometimes for whatever reason the color you see on sample doesn't necessarily translate to the actual dip. Two more things happened, first when she told me she was done, I looked at my hands and nails and there was color all over the tips of my fingers like I'd painted my own nails and dip caked under my nails. I told her and she cleaned and removed caked on dip. But this should be standard, I shouldn't have had to tell her to do this. Next, she did not take the dip all the way to the sides of my nails, they are white and uncolored. At this point I'd been there about 1 hour 15 minutes. When I mentioned it to nail tech, she didn't understand me so I asked her for someone that did. Of course the person that came over to talk really didn't care either, didn't offer discount, she did offer to do my nails again, I did not have another hour to sit there. read more

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, they were nice. However when asked about the luxury pedicure with shallac the nail tech told me 45. When I checked out I was told it was 65. I had my two teens get a shallac mani pedi ... they both had the luxury pedi with shallac. So that was 20 each for just shellac. I guess I wouldn't have cared so much if I was told at the beginning and upfront but after I was kind of shocked. 20 for each to add shallac to a 45 dollar luxury pedi. 25 more and you get another lux pedi! I think 10 is the going rate but I do not remember. I think i was overly charged. But service was good. The job they did was good. My kid said the wax was really hot so I guess the tech could be more careful. Just make sure you ask how much it is before you get your stuff done. read more

First time coming here. This place was recommended by my friend. I made an appointment the day before. I got there and they sat me down right away. I showed her a picture of what I wanted my nails to look like and she said "No problem". Vicky was very sweet the entire time. They have A TON of colors (dip, shellac and regular) to choose from. Their prices are very reasonable! For dip (tip nails added on), a design, and a toe polish it was $60. I know several nail salons that are $50 for just the dip alone with no tips and no design! I will definitely be returning! read more

The absolute best place about this nail salon is their hours. You can go on a Sunday morning at 8:30am. That is a huge plus for me given that other salons in the area on a Sunday don't open until 11 or 12. I hope they never change this about them. Besides the hours the nail Salon was an average nail salon. The tech was nice and it was clean inside. The price was good for the area I would say it was not over priced. I got a pedi and mani and they both look good. I have been to bad nail salons and this one is not it. If you are in the area I would recommend this salon. read more

My mom, sister, and I were able to schedule pedicures over the phone about an hour in advance. We were 10 minutes early but they seated us as soon as we arrived and we were all done in about 35 minutes! Although I appreciated the efficiency (and quality), my sister was disappointed in the brief amount of time spent on the hand massage as well as a mistake the technician made (a small bump that resulted in a divot in the polish on one of her fingers). However I still wanna give 5 stars because we were all pretty happy with the result :) read more

I loved this salon until recently. I had my nails dipped there and I was satisfied. When I came back to change the color a lady took off the dip by using an electric file. She took off the entire top layers of all ten of my nails. I could feel how thin my nails were when she was finished and asked for no polish as they were so week. My nails completely broke off and 4 of them are so frail I'm in pain. My nails are gone and sone are so far back that the bed of my fingers is exposed. I will never go back. I believe she used the tool to expedite her service and get more people in her chair. My nails won't be the same for months. I had been going here for months but I am actually in pain after what she did to my nails. The entire time she was complaining about the dip job her co-worker had given me. I was fine with the dip, I was not fine with what she did. read more

I have been going to the same nail salon for 12 years, but haven't been happy recently (broken nails, lifting, polish choices,etc). Wanted to try somewhere new, but I am picky, so I was hesitant and nervous about going elsewhere. I chose Sunrise mainly because it not only had good reviews, but a lot of them. My daughter and I both went in, her for a mani and me for fills. We were served right away even without an appointment. The place was busy but not loud and noisy. It was clean and well kept. They had a ton of color choices! I chose a solar/acrylic fill with shellac polish, and she chose a shellac mani. Mike did my nails and was very attentive and asked lots of questions to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. He checked with me every step of the way. He even had recommendations to lengthen the life of my fills. He was very professional. He worked very quickly, but I did not feel Rushed at all! It was nice to not have to take 2 hours out of my day for this process. I thought it was fairly priced, very comparable to other salons. The true test will be how long they last. If I can get three to four weeks, I will be a very satisfied ** Update: three 3.5 weeks later, I am going in for fills. I have one broken nail (totally my fault), but other than that my nails still look great. read more

I WON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. I went in hoping to get good results. My mom wanted a simple french tip work. The guy who did my mom's nail was nowhere cooperative. She kept on asking it was too short and it wasn't at par to what she wants but the guy kept doing it. The manager was understanding of what happened but the guy was the reason for this one star and leaving this place disappointed. read more

Love this nail salon! I have lived in Houston up until Nov 2012. I had the hardest time finding a nail salon that came close to my old salon.. (Went through 7 before a co worker referred me) Til I came across this spot. I typical get deluxe pedicure and manicure with shellac. The color variety is the best in town! Very up to date with selection.. I think it's safe to say they have over 100 colors to chose from. Salon is very nice and clean. I recommend Andy for pedicures and his wife Ann for manicures. read more

So I recently moved up to this area and have been looking for a good nail salon place to go to. I found Sunrise Nail and Spa through reading so many positive yelp reviews and thought I'd give this place a try. I did a walk in on a Saturday morning and they were booming but I literally only had to wait 5 min and it flew by from checking out all these color selections. Anyways, the place was pretty clean and organized well. Comfy. I chose to do the dip powder (w/ acrylics) and went for a natural look since I do have to keep it professional for work. Kelly was the one who did my nails that day and she did an amazing job. She was careful and patient with me and made sure that I was satisfied with the look of my nails. It came out really well, she did a good job with recommending the color as well as with shaping and cleaning up. Overall I'm pretty happy with coming to this place and she took a very good care of me. Definitely will be coming back here and I recommend this place. read more

Another pedicure, another bleeding cuticle. Is the average nail tech too rough? Are the tools dull? Do I have weak skin? Every time I get a pedicure I leave with at least one bleeding cuticle, and this salon was no different. The technician was very nice, but the cut cuticle doesn't work for me, especially to the tune of $45. I did like that each chair has a clear plastic shield suspended from the ceiling separating customers from technicians, and everyone wears a mask. Hand sanitizer is available at the entrance. read more

But their customer service was still great and the guy I had did phenomenal. I get pedicures all the time but this guy scrubbed hard and did an excellent job cleaning up my feet!! Had a good experience! Nape seems very experienced and good but she doesn't speak much English. We get by with other people in the place. Only 1 star because I can't add ZERO STAR! Went there yesterday afternoon to get dip powder applied & only because my regular guy is on vacation. The guy never put dehydrator on my nails! TOTALLY skipped this step. Consequently the dip powder did not adhere properly to the nail. One nail chipped yesterday & 2 chipped today. I would go back to fix it but I'd rather have a refund of my $47, which I know I'm not going to get. Bad first impression. If this is the guy that does the dips, he has terrible lazy technique and doesn't wash his hands prior to starting and he should not be servicing customers!! AND he only put 2 coats of powder. Again, terrible technique & bad for business. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS. read more

Both my Mom and I have been going to Sunrise regularly for years. We have always been very pleased with the attention to detail and the variety of colors and services they offer. Ann always does a perfect job on my shellac manicure and pedicure. She pays close attention to detail to be sure your nails look perfect. The prices are reasonable and competitive to other nail salons. Like many salons, they do get busy at certain times so I recommend making an appointment. read more

The employees at Sunrise Nails always do an amazing job on my nails. I go in for a fill on my acrylic nails and I get a new person each time. Every one of them has done excellent work. They take their time and work to achieve the best natural look possible. I went somewhere else for a fill while in a different area at the time and their work doesn't come close to the perfect work achieved at Sunrise nails. I highly recommend this place. Everything was super relaxing, excellent relaxing music, dim lights, I think at one point the massage chair had me so relaxed I fell asleep and my leg fell off of the little foot bench! The complimentary cosmopolitan was also excellent! Everything was super clean, they clean chairs and tubs immediately after each person. The only thing I didn't like is that I got regular polish, not gel, and they don't have a quick dry spray to dry your nails. Not even a quick dry polish, so even being super careful, 2 of my nails got scuffed. If I come back here, which is likely, I am bringing my own quick dry polish. My skin reacts badly to the UV lamps and I don't want to be forced to leave with wet polish on my toes. I may even bring my own quick dry spray.

When I got to the store, I was told the code wouldn't work even though I was assured it would as the store said they needed a bar code to scan? Selena, the Experience Manager told me to call Customer Service and speak to a live person. I went back to my car and spoke to a rep and at first the rep didn't know what I was talking about and thought it was in select stores. I explained the memo that was given to the employees who said it was a Pilot Program and that they needed a Bar Code. He said he couldn't email me a bar code and could just give the same type of promo code given in the first Chat. I asked for Corporate's email or phone number but he couldn't give me one? I went back to the store and explained it to Selena and she offered to call Customer Service and explain it from her end. She said it's a hit or miss with the ones answering the calls. She was awesome intervening for me and was put on hold a couple of times til they figured out on their end, me talking to the phone rep and handing it back to Selena. I think this took about 20 minutes while Selena was even multi-tasking! I was so impressed at her going above and beyond to help me out, have a positive, patient and upbeat attitude while we talked about The Spurs making it to the NBA Finals in between holds on the call. It took the edge off the situation. She was able to work it out and accommodate my Comp'd Brow Wax. Now that's stellar Customer Service!!! Thank you Salena!!! :-)

Dr Bucay was recommended to me by my esthetician after a sudden onset skin issue was still afffecting my face after seeing another Dermatologist in the Stone Oak area. After an extremely brutal outing in the sun using a new sunblock lotion that was recommended due to its ability to block excess sweating, I began having a "breakout" of sorts over the next several days. Instead of clearing up, it continued in other areas but the original spots didn't completely heal! At the ripe old age of 58 you can imagine my shock as to what was happening with my face. I lived my whole life thru my teens, pregnancies & menopause unscathed by acne breakouts (with the exception of an occasional pimple every 10years)! After visiting a different Dermatologist, I showed him pictures at every stage of the breakouts incldg what happened with my eyebrows from onset to when they became "holes" & how they looked when "healed"! He ran a myriad of tests & prescribed me numerous creams etc, but nothing worked. His response was it was caused by me picking my face! I told him I hadn't nor had I ever picked at my face &!I wasn't a teenager! I couldn't believe that was his diagnosis. Mind you, I had actual crater-like "holes" that took forever to close but left behind the hole in my skin! Tweezing my eyebrows even caused inflammation from where the hair was removed & created holes/gaps in my brows in the spots where the hair was plucked out! After waiting 2yrs for my forehead botox, i decided to risk it & attempt it again. I explained the situation to my esthetician & showed her the photos to see if she had seen this before or had any suggestions. She hadn't but referred me to Dr Vivian Bucay for a 2nd opinion. Although, the wait time for an initial appointment was 6 mos., they were able to see me sooner due to a cancellation & the timing was perfect due to a breakout at that time. She looked thru all my pics, took pics of her own, ran addl tests & 1. Agreed it wasn't caused by me picking my face. 2. Felt is was more viral & wrote up a complete plan, incldg what to use & NOT to use in my skin care repertoire. Sked a followup in 6 weeks & when I returned, she saw a completely different person! I have been walking on air & singing her praises to everyone & anyone I know! She listened, didn't make assumptions, came up with a plan & solved the issue. Almost 1 yr later, my face hasn't had any addl breakouts & the "holes" have almost all completely healed & filled in. I am getting my smooth face back & so very very very thankful to my esthetician for referring me to Dr Vivian Bucay who saved my face & made it possible for me to go out in public again!!!! Her office & staff are the best. I can only imagine that the Hardy Oak office is just as good & the Dr's there are just as amazing as Dr Bucay! I was also planning to take advantage of the spa amenities afterward and grab lunch at one of the restaurants. About 10 minutes before my appointment, I put on my robe and headed to the waiting area. As my appointment time came and went, I watched every other guest get called back for their massages while I continued to wait. After another 10 minutes had passed, I finally went to the front desk to ask what was going on. The manager came out and informed me that there had been a miscommunication and my massage therapist was unable to make it to work that day. Unfortunately, there were no other therapists available and no alternative appointment times. I was simply told they were sorry and that I would need to reschedule. At that point, I broke down in tears. This wasn't just a massage, it was my birthday gift and my first opportunity to step away from the chaos and demands of postpartum life. Having that experience taken away without any notice was incredibly disappointing. To their credit, they did offer me a complimentary massage whenever I am able to rebook, which I appreciated and accepted. However, this was a very disappointing first impression. A simple phone call before I arrived could have saved me the time, effort, childcare arrangements, and emotional letdown.

Definitely will not come back, I've been informed that they lie about using Shellac, instead they use Gel color on customers' nails (gel nails are lower in quality, they lied because Shellac supplies cost double). They would fall off after 4 days, the store was not very organized. Definitely will not recommend to anyone. Don't be fooled!! read more

They are very loud with their language. My feet began to hurt and crack after my pedicure service. In addition, I'm not sure if their tools are sanitized because I did not see them taking their tools out from any sanitizer. read more

He gave the short look I was going for, and the nails on the top don't look so bad even though some are more squared than others but the major problem is what's underneath between my nails and the acrylic. I wish I could ignore how terrible it looks but they're also very uncomfortable. He attempted to fix this by filing the acrylic down but it's just bad. I waited over 6 months to get my nails done to not only not get the color I wanted but also a mess that can't be ignored. I just moved to the area and was really hoping I had found a nail salon I can go to but my search will continue.
