TJ's is a great spot to catch a game. We've shown up for a couple of the US Soccer games and just this weekend, the Norway v England match. I will say, it was standing room only for the US match and we were able to walk in 5 minutes after the Norway game started and find two seats at the massive bar. Service has always been great - folks greet you with a smile, check on you often and get you taken care of quickly. What surprised me was their food! My guy is a repeat order on their wings and tried some of the different sauces this last time, all with a five star review. For me, I adore their Green Chili Mac and Cheese. Oh my word. The noodles are swimming in creamy cheese sauce, underneath a hearty green chili. It didn't look like mac and cheese at first glance, but more like an interesting french onion soup, but don't let that fool you. It's there and it's phenomenal. Man oh man! A few weeks ago. Couldn't find a place to get a to go order late...we were very hungry! Found this place open late. Call and I swear we ordered one of everything on the menu. It was a very large order. THE FOOD WAS FRESH MADE VERY WELL. We loved everything! My favorite was the Reuben sandwich. We like the place so much that we ordered again later in the week. This is my secret best sports bar on the front range. I was shocked the other day it wasn't pact with the current sporting event. I do live an open barstool, I also like a place that should remain in the area for awhile. TJs seems to have a weekly special. This week's is amazing, "prime rib" my favorite. Walked in during the Nuggets vs Timberwolves game. It was busy. No hostess that we could find so we sat ourselves on the patio. We had a server almost immediately. Ordered two beers and pickle chips to start. HUGE basket of perfectly round, large pickle chips. Interestingly, they sprinkle a little sugar on them. They came with a side of spicy ranch. We asked if from a bag or made in house. It was the latter, the server saw him making them shortly before we ordered. Yummy! We shared a burger with cheddar, sautéed onions and bacon. It's a huge burger with all the topping: lettuce, tomato and mayo. Pretty darn good burger. We got tator tots and spicy ranch for the side. Watching the game was fun. Food excellent. This wasn't my favorite place. The beer is cold, the building is clean and the food is solid for bar type food. My issue is the service. It's clear this place caters to a "regular" clientele and new faces are not especially catered to. On two occasions now, I've gone in, found a table and sat down. Absolutely nobody talks to me, asks me what I want to drink nor even acknowledges me. If I want something, I go to the bar and order it. Aside from that, I am basically ignored. I see people interacting with the bartenders and having a great time. I, however, feel like a complete outsider and a "bother". If you are part of the in crowd, I'm sure this place is awesome. If you are not in that crowd, be prepared to make the first move on everything. The last time I was there, I simply got up and left after 15 minutes and nobody noticed when I came in or left. Tj's has an excellent happy hour with wells for $2.50. These days that's practically unheard of. I've sampled a few things on their menu. Get the mozzarella sticks, they are nothing short of amazing. Wings are good and the burgers are good. Service can be hit or miss, especially with some of the younger girls who will give you premium alcohol if you don't specify you want a well cocktail. Then you don't figure out until you get the check and it's $6 more per drink than it should have been. Other than that, no complaints. They do trivia on Wednesday's and that's always fun. read more

The food is great. The presentation is original. Service is hit or miss depending on the staff working. There is a group that likes to gossip at the end of the bar, and you can get thirsty waiting for a refill. Be prepared to pay your tab at shift change. Tjs is awesome, I'm very excited about this addition to Lakewood. Tj's is a fantastic sports bar with great food, service, and wonderful atmosphere. TVS are really great quality if you want to watch a game. They're also so many of them that there's not a bad seat in the house. If you want to sit outside, there's a really nice spacious patio with fire pits and heaters and plenty of seating. The chicken wings are amazing, some of the best I've had in Denver. You will not be disappointed by the beer selection tap, they have an amazing selection. After only visiting this bar a few times I can easily see myself going here atleast once a week. read more

We recently discovered TJ's and go there to watch football when we don't get the games we want. Let me tell you about their green chile. I'm a chile head and have tried the green chile from lots of places. This green chile is my favorite when I don't have time to make it myself. It tastes like they bought freshly roasted chile right on Federal. I just bought two quarts to take to a work potluck and I'm super excited. When we eat at TJ's, I order chile and tater tots and combine them. It's amazing! Today I can only give TJ's 2 stars. The service was just awful. 2 tables that came way after we were seated and ordered were served there food before us. We watched 2 tables walk out when the hadn't been acknowledged for an extended period of time. As always we did enjoy the food. We tried this place a few weeks ago and it had reasonable service but the food and atmosphere were GREAT. SO.. we went back tonight but were pretty disappointed. We couldn't get a waitress to come over to save our lives. Our food took nearly an hour and had been sitting a long time before we got it. We had to get up at least 5 times to get our own napkins and condiments. We had to go to the bartender to order food. Bartender was nice and apologized while the waitresses were doing side work and ignoring us. I agree with other reviewers that we really need a good place in this neighborhood so it's kind of a shame. Maybe we'll try them again in a few months if they survive. Give them a try if you want to support a local hangout, but bring your patience. read more

Mix of families and adults only crowd.. Service was great, had a few big beers which we enjoyed. Dinner was good (philly cheesesteak, pulled pork sandwich, chicken fingers). Wow finally a well established bar in Lakewood!! So many TV screens to watch ANY game and the service is great. A great selection of beers on tap with a great patio too. Honestly check this place out. This was our second visit and we shared the jalapeño poppers (amazing) wings and the Cuban sandwich (wowowowow also they use homemade pickles).
