Before signing our 18-month lease, we made it clear that we would eventually have two vehicles and asked to be placed on the waitlist for a second parking space. At no point were we told how long the waitlist actually was. After moving in, one person told us we were 10th and then we found out we are 23rd on the waitlist. Management's only solution? Pay $10 every single night to park in visitor parking until a space becomes available. That's roughly $300 per month on top of our rent, even though we were fully prepared to pay the normal monthly parking fee for an assigned space. Had we been told the truth about the parking situation before signing, we would have made a different decision. This is the kind of information prospective residents deserve to know upfront--not after they've signed a lease and moved in. We tried to work with management, explained our concerns, and asked for reasonable accommodations. Unfortunately, we were told there was no temporary solution other than continuing to pay daily parking fees while waiting behind 22 other people. If you're considering living here, ask every question you can about parking and get the answers in writing before signing anything. In our experience, management was not transparent about the reality of the parking situation and not accommodating when we asked for help. I cannot recommend this community based on our experience.

That alone says so much about how much we love living here. I truly feel safe and secure in this community, which is such an important thing for me. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. They always greet you with a smile and are patient whenever you have questions (or call them multiple times like me.) The office gals, Leah, Allison, and Jackie (and I know there is another floater but I can't recall her name right now) are especially sweet and understanding, which makes such a difference in my experience here. They take the time to plan different events for us as residents to help build community and I love and appreciate that so much! Maintenance is also amazing..always timely, professional, and so helpful. We absolutely love Gus!! He's the best and always makes sure everything is taken care of quickly and with care. Paloma really feels like home to us. We're so happy we chose to stay and upgrade instead of leaving. Highly recommend living here!

Recently, I needed to break my lease due to unforeseen circumstances and was open to reasonable solutions, such as a payment plan. However, none were offered. Crystal Chou the manager showed no empathy and made it clear that the buck stops with her because she is the regional manager of the whole southern California, so there is no one else I could speak with. Crystal Chou refused to involve anyone else who might have been able to help. The only options presented were to pay the full amount owed immediately on my departure, assume responsibly until my lease is up or until the unit is rented. last choice is to allow the account to go into collections and ruin my credit. For a long-term, reliable tenant, this lack of flexibility, consideration, and basic human decency is extremely disappointing. However, I do feel I should have some sort of penalty for breaking a17 month lease, 6 months before it ended but being charged $5770.00 early termination fee, plus a month of rent for a grand total of $7020.17 is unfair. Well just make sure you pay attention to the fine print before you sign your lease agreement. Even though it was a nice place to live but due to unwillingness to work with me when my life circumstances change, I would never return as a tenant.

Issues will also only get resolved, depending on who you speak to at the office. It's also sometimes really difficult to get anyone to answer the phone. Jacuzzi is constantly broken, and they swear that the pool is heated, but it is freezing even in 95° weather. People are always smoking, even though it's supposed to be a non-smoking property. I've seen residents jumping the gate instead of using their pool... Just things like that, but I feel really cheapen the overall experience of living here. The property itself is beautiful and the amenities are great, especially the huge dog park and the complimentary drinks and snacks you can get from the office during business hours. Also, their gym is the nicest gym I've ever seen at any complex. They also do fun little things like free smores kits during the winter. The best part of living here for sure is the modern property and the people that live here!

I've been a member of this community since 2007 (that's 19 years)…read more I've seen this property bought and sold a few times. There have been several management teams over the years. This current team is amazing and on par with one of the earlier teams (that was just stellar)! I see the work around the facility, and it is comprehensive and consistent. Grounds are kept and maintenance performed on a clock-like schedule. As we emerged out of Covid, many programs were birthed for the community. One of them is the variety of food trucks for residence who are too tired to cook after a long day at work. The convenience of having food trucks at your doorstep is thoughtful and helpful. The Christmas Lights Decoration Contest is another (the kids love it). I watched them walking through the community in awe of the lights. It is easy to complain about an incident or when something breaks (because its common and expected for them to break). That's why we have a maintenance crew. Sure, they do not always get it right the first time (but neither do you). Response time is quick and the repair is immediate. We are in a prime location where we look can look north at the local mountains or turn south and view the lovely valley and basin below. In my 19 years here, this community continues to provide a safe shelter for me and my family. I have two grown daughters who grew up here. This management team cares and understands life happens and when it does, they adjust and happen right along with it. I would be remised if I didn't mention Vivian Clark and her attention to the community. I know sometimes it doesn't feel like it, but we all appreciate you immensely! Keep up the good work . . . and of course Robert who has been a mainstay for maintenance over the years. James and Nicole Simmons

I contacted the leasing office, and Michael immediately reached out to Robert from Maintenance, who came right away to assess the situation. After looking everything over, Robert determined that Frank, the specialist, would need to evaluate the system. He kindly offered to install a portable air conditioner in the meantime, but I declined, thinking the issue might be resolved quickly. By Sunday, Frank arrived and discovered that both my indoor and outdoor AC units needed full replacement. He explained that the process could take up to three weeks. This was difficult news, especially because I am currently on medication that makes heat exposure risky-and temperatures had been in the triple digits. Understanding the urgency, Frank contacted Vivian right away and then installed a portable AC unit within 30 minutes. It worked wonderfully, and I was incredibly grateful. On Monday, Vivian called to let me know the AC vendor was ready to schedule installation. I was shocked and thrilled. Shortly after, I met Ramiro, the general manager of maintenance, who confirmed that installation would take place on Wednesday. It is now Wednesday evening, and I have a brand-new indoor and outdoor air conditioning system installed in my home. Thank you to Michael, Vivian, Robert, Frank, Ramiro, the new office lady, and Willie (the vendor) for working together so quickly and compassionately. You made me feel not just like a resident of the Sonora Community, but a member of the Sonora Family. Thank you for prioritizing my safety, my health, and my comfort! My family and I are truly grateful! Thank you all again!

So I noticed all the old reviews were deleted. ..FYI. I…read morelived here 6 years with my family and watch this place go majorly down hill. First off these are NOT luxury apartments. The kitchen is all your basic cheap laminate. Theres crown molding that only goes through half the living room and the appliances are crap. We went through 1 microwave, 2 washers, and 3 dryers. The first two dryers killed so many of our clothes because if a shirt had screen print on it the dryer would catch it and twist it up and it would have to be yanked out between the door and the part that spins the clothes. Only the downstairs units have the hard floor and door bells. The side exit gate is always broken and it would stay open for months. There's already a transient problem in that area. You have people constantly trash diggin through the dumpsters and homeless people walking in and riding their bikes through the property. Also we've come across them sleeping on our stairs at night. No night security and tons of people without parking passes would park in the lot. My car was keyed the first year living there. Constant calls to Upland PD cuz of all the ghetto people in our building fighting each other and yelling outside at 2am. The only cameras on property are over the office. And at the gates. My car was involved in a hit and run in our parking lot and the office claims they could not release or let us watch footage of the person who did it nor would they look. So instead of being able to catch who did I I had to pay for my car to get fixed. The front call box never works. I know this because my friends dropped off my kids after school during the week and could never get in. So they would have to wait till someone let them in or came out. They didn't have maintenance for a bit so having anything fixed was a waiting game. They had someone really good running their maintenance team the first few years we were there. He was the only awesome thing about that place until I heard the manager let him go. The office staff has been a revolving door as managers have changed and staff were constantly new. No one ever answers the phone or returns your message. The last 2 years we were there they hiked the rent up 10% yearly. In this complex you have to pay for trash, water, sewer. I've lived in many other apartments and never paid these things till I moved here. Also if you move out, don't clean. They take $200 out of your deposit to pay someone to come in and clean. I'm still dealing with the office on the amount we owe after move out. Even though I paid for the days on the portal I'm still being charged for more days. Plus your utilities are two months behind. So even though we are no longer there we have to pay 2 months of utilities because of their system. Stupid! Don't recommend.
