Sunset Bagels is a staple in my household! With it being so close by, I find myself running over there whenever I'm too lazy to cook. The variety alone keeps me coming back--I've tried their breakfast sandwiches, smoothies, wings and fries, burgers--but my go-to is always the Philly cheesesteak with fries. So good! The staff is always pleasant, and the establishment is consistently clean, which is something I definitely pay attention to. I remember when it was first built, and honestly, it still looks just as fresh and well-kept as day one. I also love how spacious it is--there's plenty of room to dine in comfortably. It truly added value to the block. My only qualm is the parking situation. With so many people frequenting both here and Frida's, parking has gotten exponentially worse. And since they're open 24 hours, there's often a noisy crowd in the late-night/early-morning hours, which I know can be disruptive for nearby residents. read more

I really enjoy ordering from sunset bagels. They have a wide variety of breakfast and lunch items and there's always something new to try. I specifically enjoy their salads such as the Greek and the Sante Fe. Their food is so fresh and they also deliver without a minimum which is convenient. The only reason I give them 4 stars is because the wait time is always a while, whether you order ahead or order in the store it takes some time for the food. However they do have signs in there acknowledging it and they are busy. I will continue to order here as it's a clean place, delicious food, and a great spot in the neighborhood. read more

As a California girl who is constantly bombarded with trash bagels, bagels are probably my favorite thing about visiting NY. I've never had a bag bagel here, and Sunset Cafe is no different. We're visiting my in-laws for the holidays and this place is walking distance from them. My MIL recommended it and I'm glad she did. I got a sesame bagel egg sandwich with scallion cream cheese & a large Hangover Survivor (apple, beets, lemon, carrot, ginger juice). The bagel was solid and overall the sandwich was satisfying. Below is a picture of a salad that was given to my neighbor. I warned her about this place. Think she'll listen now and stay away. Giving anyone an old salad is NOT ok especially with their prices. She also requested for the shaved cheese to be placed on the side which didn't happen , instead she received two different salad dressings. The service and ambiance was ok. read more

This is likely my last review of this place. I really can't stand it anymore. I keep trying to look at the glass half full and give them the benefit of the doubt, but I think I'm done. The food is OK. Nothing to write home about, but OK. But the service has possibly gotten worse, which I didn't think was possible. No less than five people behind the counter, me and one of the customer, and it still takes 15 minutes to get one bagel with butter and one cup of coffee. I don't even know how that's possible. I could make five of those orders in that amount of time. Yapping, joking with each other, I don't know. Then I had to ask one of them to turn the music down, after he had to ask me three times what I was saying. Maybe if you turn down the crappy rap music, you will be able to hear me. It's like a Saturday Night Live skit in there. Highly unlikely that I will ever be back. It's really a shame. All of those workers are very lucky that I don't own that place because they would have been on the unemployment line a long time ago. And now the kicker, just got in the car, and my order is wrong, as is usually the case. One bagel with butter, not toasted, and surprise, surprise, they toasted it anyway. Scotty, beam me up. First, my order said it was ready so I walked all the way over there for them to tell me they never turn on the machine to receive my order, which is obviously a lie if I had a notification saying it was ready! I must say since moving to the area and grabbing breakfast, lunch, and dinner on occasion from this spot- I havent been disappointed yet. The place is always clean, organized, and extremely friendly. The food is tasty (order a BACONEGGNCHEESE) and so are the hot drinks. Im a latte snob and Karla makes it JUST PERFECT. Never coming back. My last order, never received an item-was told I would get a refund, never got it. Called back and asked to speak to manager, none available and non wanted to take the call because it was "busy". allegedly took my number from diff shits and never got a follow up for days... my order before that, literally got the WRONG order delivered, had to call about it - this time the manager says their "personal" delivery driver will send my correct order and guess what??
