I recently purchased a Kia EV9 from Kia Garden Grove, and while there were some disappointing…read moreissues with the vehicle itself, the service and staff have been outstanding. After taking delivery, we discovered that the AC was not working, there was a significant dent in the fender that had been missed, and the vehicle was not as clean as I would have expected. Needless to say, that was frustrating and took away from the excitement of getting the car. That said, Kia Garden Grove has gone above and beyond to make things right. They provided a loaner vehicle, arranged to have the dent repaired, fixed the AC issue, and even delivered the EV9 back to me while picking up the loaner on the return trip. The staff has been professional, responsive, and genuinely helpful throughout the process. I am still bummed about the initial condition of the EV9, but I really appreciate how they handled the situation and stood behind the customer experience. Overall, amazing service and a great team. I would just hope the vehicle inspection and delivery prep process improves so future customers don't run into the same issues.

    ## Review for Kia of Garden Grove **Rating: **…read moreI strongly advise anyone looking for a vehicle to steer clear of Kia of Garden Grove. They are the textbook definition of "bait and switch" and "predatory dealer markups." I went in to look at a used **2024 Kia Sorento** listed online for **$27,696**. While the initial sales associate was pleasant, the experience soured the moment we sat down to talk numbers. Despite telling them upfront that I would pay the sticker price plus standard taxes and DMV fees--and absolutely no dealer add-ons--the finance manager presented an "out-the-door" price of **over $40,000**. They attempted to tack on nearly **$10,000 in markups and useless add-ons**. When I challenged this, the manager's "best offer" was to remove most items except for a **$1,500 LoJack fee**. This car already comes equipped with onboard tracking services; charging $1,500 for a redundant system is a blatant cash grab. When I refused to pay for something I didn't want or need, the manager became incredibly rude. I ended up walking out, and he continued to make unprofessional comments as I left the building. It is a complete waste of time to negotiate with people who don't respect your boundaries or your intelligence. If you want a transparent buying experience without the "market adjustment" games, take your business elsewhere--places like Carmax prove you don't have to deal with these ridiculous tactics. **Avoid this dealership at all costs.**

Today was going to be the last time I ever came to this dealership for service--because of how bad…read morethe experience was when Randy Doan was not here. Ironically, the only reason I ever got to meet Randy was because of that terrible service experience. I left a review, and Randy personally reached out to me. That call completely changed my perception of this service department. Randy Doan is an exceptional asset to this dealership, and he is the only reason I drive nearly 40 miles to have my car serviced here when there are at least four or five Toyota dealerships much closer to me. Unlike another manager I dealt with during Randy's absence, Andy actually listens. He does not dismiss concerns, minimize issues, or deflect responsibility--he addresses problems head-on and follows through. The other manager Andy was, quite frankly, absolutely useless. When I heard Randy was back from his leave today, I was genuinely elated. While he was out, I needed basic information from the service manager for an insurance claim after another car hit me. What should have been a simple request turned into an exhausting, frustrating ordeal--it was like pulling teeth. Randy's professionalism, responsiveness, and accountability stand in stark contrast to how poorly the service department was managed without him. I truly hope this dealership understands what a gem he is, because I am certain I am not the only customer who continues servicing their vehicle here solely because of him. If Randy had not returned, I would never come back. The only reason this dealership receives five stars from me is because of Randy Doan., WITHOUT RANDY HERE ZERO STAR IS TOO MANY FOR THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT'S MANAGEMENT. I sincerely hope leadership recognizes his value--and also understands just how awful service management was in his absence.

3 stars Short story version: Got my 2026 RAV4 and am happy with it…read more Long story version** (includes some issues I feel I should mention): Purchased from Toyota Place primarily because they had one still available to prepurchase, (& hesitantly due the lack of stellar reviews on here) Worked with one of the internet sales rep, Mark. He was available when I arrived, not pushy and easy to talk to... the negotiating was primarily done with the sales manager though. So it was kind of working with multiple people. There were definitely good and bad overall experiences here. 1st flag was the dealership add ons. It was $$$. Of course you can negotiate some down, but BE PREPARED. It's something that's normal around here but outrageous at the same time. 2nd flag: Over the period of my initial visit then picking up the car out the door-- my credit was run THREE times! 2x during the deposit/initial loan application which Jip (finance) discussed. But, Then again when I picked up the car. The last time, I couldn't believe it. 3rd flag: Got a rejection of loan letter mailed to me due to incomplete information. No heads up. And trying to get help over the phone was frustrating. It ended up just being the vin# BUT had to go through hoops to try and get help over the phone. It was like if they weren't your original contacts, you weren't getting help. (I think you know you are. Mr P) 4th thing. When my car finally arrived, it was missing a couple accessories I originally signed off for. I was missing the crossbars (and mud-flaps which I didn't even think to look for). I felt like something was off. No one wanted to bring up the original listing or sales info to double check. They just said it doesn't exist anymore. Mark did make sure I got my missing bars.. but not from verifying more like "if you believe you were suppose to get them ". And Jip even mentioned the sticker price was close to $1k off. So they wrote a receipt for a $750 roof rack. Keep in mind roof racks are more expensive than crossbars so I thought maybe they are making up the difference in value. Naaah I got crossbars. $750 crossbars apparently (which doesn't exist). Although it's what I initially thought I was getting...The way they wrote up $750 of value on a $350 part didn't settle well with me. At the end of the day I got my car, with the original accessory I signed for (minus mudflaps). But buyer beware. Keep track of your original order especially if you're prepurchasing. I'll give a benefit of a doubt they aren't tracking everything to the T but either this is a huge Quality Assurance issue or someone is trying to take some revenue by leaving accessories off. Again. I love my car so far. And the purchasing was otherwise somewhat ok.

SCAM CITY - BUYERS BEWARE…read more Buckle up, story time. I've been looking for a Lexus SUV for my family for a while. I saw Vision Hankook on Cars.com, and the LX570 was priced very competitively and looked amazing in pics. I spoke with Mateen, who was very eager and friendly, so this gave me high hopes. He also texted me videos and even more pictures, which had me salivating, thinking it was an amazing deal. I WAS WRONG. As I'm coming from San Diego (2 hours south via train), I told him it was important that the car be ready for me to see and that a local mechanic (near the dealership) review it. I would obviously pay for this service. Mateen had no issues with this and was *confident* the car would pass with flying colors - perfect! Our appointment was set for the following day at 11 am. The following morning, I take the day off work and book a train ticket to head up for our mutually agreed appointment, less than 24 hours prior. This is where things go wrong. 3/4 of the way up to our appointment, I received a text: "I apologize for today, I have to cancel, I just found out the owner sent the car to auction yesterday afternoon, it won't be possible to view the car today, it should be back tomorrow, can you come tomorrow?" ABSOLUTELY NOT. But also, why would you take a car to sell at auction, then tell me it will be there tomorrow? Mind you, Mateen had sent me pictures of the car the afternoon prior, so I don't know when this would have happened. I explain that I am on the train and will not cancel the appointment; I will still go to his office, OR I will take an Uber to see the car at the auction. At this point, I am committed. I could sense that scared Mateen a little. He scrambled, said the owner had been notified, and that he would have the car at the dealership by 4 pm that same day. Extremely frustrated by the lack of communication and professionalism, but I've already committed time/money to this journey, so I'd like to see it through. When I arrived at his office, Mateen greeted me very apologetically and had me wait in one of the cubicles next to what looked like a TikTok spam bot center with multiple cellphones ringing and chirping over and over. I informed Mateen that I'd like to speak with the owner and find out where the car was so I could see it at the auction. He said we were in luck! The car was on its way. Great!! 15, 20, 30, 45 minutes go by. I ask Mateen, "Do we have an ETA? If the car isn't coming, I need to book a train home." He says, "Oh, let me get the owner." Out comes another man, whose name I was not able to remember, and he says, "Oh, the car is next door at the mechanic." Weird, it was supposed to be at the auction...? "Yes, it WAS at the auction, but we just got here because we found a small leak in the radiator, and we are replacing it now for you - you can go see it if you want." I AM SO GLAD I LOOKED AT IT.............. HALF OF THE ENGINE WAS OUT (I have pictures) The intake manifold was off the engine, there was dried coolant all over the block and in the intake port itself. This means there was a gasket leak, and it probably overheated. Not only that, the mechanic didn't even have the car on proper jack stands or a lift; the front wheels were off, and the car was sitting on its base suspension on the ground!!! What probably happened was, they KNEW a mechanic would call this out, so they tried buying time to quickly fix it/patch it up so I (or some other sucker) would buy it, not knowing about the ticking time bomb under the hood. As someone who has worked on engines before, I know that whole process takes time, removing the sensors, bolts, manifold, etc. So the car was NEVER at the auction, and they were caught in a lie! After all this, Mateen, knowing I had just caught on to their ruse, has the gall to ask, "So would you like to come back and test-drive tomorrow?" Needless to say, Mateen, I would not... Like I said - BUYER BEWARE

When I visited the dealership and checked out the 2018 Mazda 3 hatchback, I requested to take the car to my 3rd-party mechanic to get a second opinion and Jay had no issues whatsoever letting me test drive the car and drive it over to the mechanic by myself. I got the thumbs-up from my guy and he said everything looked great under the hood and I drove back to Karland Motors and we started talking numbers, Jay was very transparent during the process and called multiple credit unions trying to get me the best interest rate and lowest monthly payment...Since he knew this was my first car-buying experience he made sure I was explained everything thoroughly and gave me good advice along the way. Karland Motors doesn't tack on ANY unnecessary fees (besides the obvious sales tax, registration fee w/ DMV, $85 document fee, $29 title transfer, $60 emissions test). They were very flexible with me scheduling a test drive and letting me check out the car. They were flexible with a pre-purchase inspection at the local dealership which took longer than expected, and payment and paperwork was very quick and easy thanks to Paul. Ben Auto offered a very competitive and fair price below market value for my car and no negotiation was necessary. This was my first solo serious car purchase for me and I'm very happy I found these guys. Since I bought it, the car has run beautifully over 1000 miles in the first month and there were no issues at pre-purchase inspection. Also had a clean title and AutoCheck report before purchase, and no recalls. Only a fuse and couple of light bulbs needed to be swapped in and Henry took care of that immediately with no appointment necessary. Made me feel like I owned the place. Also, don't be fooled by this humble little dealer when you show up. They may not have all the shine and "perks" of the big guys, but you'll get none of the b.s. and a great car at a great price.
