I've been meaning to write this review since 3 months ago when I got my hair cut...better late than never? It was a great experience! I didn't know what to expect and was a little hesitant because I didn't see many pictures of women's haircuts on Yelp. I was also hesitant because I had really long hair and was gonna get all chopped off. But Jason talked to me about it and showed me exactly what he was going to do. After he cut my hair into a long bob, he helped re-highlight my hair. I couldn't be happier with my hair and I may go back soon to get it trimmed! I attached my picture of my hair currently. Been here numerous times in the past year or so. Have had a few different people cut my hair as I usually walk in instead of making an appointment. If I do make an appointment it is usually with Holly or Jason, but again, I've only had great experiences here! I also take my two year old son here and they do a great job with him. I've been looking for a new barber/stylist and found this place on yelp. I read nothing but good reviews on them and for one reason or another decided to give Holly a shot, based on the reviews. The place is mall, but really quaint and cool (both literally and figuratively) inside. Both stylists were really friendly, even the guy that was working but not cutting my hair. But Holly did an AMAZING job cutting and styling my hair. This has only been my 2nd haircut this year and will definitely be returning back in 6 weeks. I can't recommend this place enough. I've been going since 2016 because I always get a haircut that I'm excited to show off and it comes at a price that's beyond affordable. I used to be the type of person that was nervous going into a haircut. Not since I've found Sunset Clipps. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed, and I love the name/beach hut design. I get my haircut by Jason. He does an efficient job and is great at figuring out what I want even when I have trouble describing it. I always leave feeling more confident than when I walked in. Jason is also the shop owner and I thoroughly appreciate our conversations. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in his work and the shop itself. I look forward to my haircut every time. Jason delivers a top-notch cut every time!! When I was growing my hair out after 15 years of DIY buzz-cuts, he knew exactly what I was going for. The last time I was in, he gave me what he called his "groom's cut" for a date I had that night. He worked some serious magic because I wound up marrying my date, a woman I hadn't seen in 30 years. I'm SO glad to have a reasonably-priced place for my family's haircuts, and I can walk there! Kids are only $13 and the cut my son got was just what I wanted -- even when Jason thought it was done I asked for a little more off and he complied without giving me any grief -- and I was right it looked great ;) I have a really unique style on him (for a 4 yr old) but Jason listened to me and did as I asked. Everybody LOVES my son's hair. Last weekend I drove by the local kiddie salon and saw the line out the door before it even opened--whew! So glad to be out of that nightmare! And Jason worked in a kid shop for years -- he can really do kid hair! My husband then went in and got the best cut he's had in YEARS. He has really full hair and slightly curly, and people usually make him look like a little boy or just do a buzz cut (neither works). Jason worked with his long hair and it's looked great even as it grows out. Tomorrow I'm taking my daughter for a bob -- which Jason claims is his specialty so I'm very excited to see what he does! I'm sure I'll be in there one day soon. One word of warning: his personality can come off a little distant at first, but don't worry, he warms up and is a really super nice person. I was a little taken aback at first (I'm very outgoing) but once we got over the personality hump it was fine, and I decided to make it a point to say in my review not to be worried if this happens to you...just hang out a bit and you'll feel comfortable in no time--and you'll have a great cut on your head! read more

I have never felt so unwelcomed in a barber shop or salon in my entire life. I walked in this morning with my 3 young boys and was not even greeted with a "Hello", but rather a look of agitation. The owner has the rudest disposition towards kids! The first few times my husband or myself felt this way we just shrugged it off and thought maybe he was having a bad day. However after the 4th or 5th going, we have now decided that even though this barber shop appears to be kid friendly, it is definitely not. We will no longer be giving our business to Sunset Clipps after the repeated rudeness and feeling of our kids being an inconvenience. And honestly it does suck because the two girls who work there are so awesome to our boys and give great haircuts...but the owner has taken away business for them by his horrible attitude. read more

Owner is unkind unprofessional and lied in clients face that a client does not have an appointment, when in the clients phone (me) has app. In the phone clear as a bell ,there's a copy of the exact time for the appointment. Instead of rectifying the problem when he saw I was correct & had the correct time, I basically was treated like total crap and left and will never go there again. I have read other reviews about the owner being arrogant and not very nice, unfortunately I that same treatment yesterday. It was very saddening, I had brought a little cake for him and simply left it there and left never to return again. The vibe in the place was a lot of unhappy miserable people probably trickling down from the owners attitude, and his way of treating people and handling people unprofessionally. Instead of even touching base with me later in the day to rectify the problem and invite me back or apologize he chose just to go along with his day leaving my day screwed up because of him. An incident like this did happen a year ago when I came in for an appointment and when trying to discuss what approach we might use he again was rude and I left. I thought that maybe he was just having a bad day and went back to him about a year later which was most recently and he was fine. But then when I went back the yesterday, day a couple of months later for a cut ,I received this treatment again!! I'm writing this so people can understand that if it happens to them ,it's happened to me and other people clearly on his reviews don't take it personal. I hope Jason learned something from this but it doesn't look like it because a lot of his reviews are quite wonderful but he's not paying attention to the ones that aren't good where he has treated people specifically unkindly, and disrespectfully, in the exact mean way for no reason, no Rhyme or Reason whatsoever he just chooses to be mean all of a sudden out of nowhere. This is not earth-shattering and all of us that have experienced that have moved on down the road and found other places to spend our money and to enjoy having her hair done.
