    breakfast croissant (raw dough?)
    Vincent O.

This is the third time i've come to this place and i'm always disappointed. I kept giving it a chance because it's close to me. The donuts were stale. The one time I had a croissant breakfast sandwich, they warmed it up in a microwave. not even toast it. and it was raw dough. never again. the place is clean and the service was o.k.

I first started visiting Sunset Donuts when my family and I moved to the area when I was about 8 years old. Over 25 years later, I still stop by Sunset Donuts whenever I'm in the area and craving GOOD donuts. Since my husband isn't from the area and has never tried their donuts, we decided to pick some up today for him to try. We went around 1pm, so there wasn't a huge selection to choose from; however, they still had some of our favs. Needless to say, he really likes their donuts! Their donuts have been consistently delicious over the many years that I've been having them. Customer service is still great. Staff are friendly and helpful, which is always appreciated. I did note that their hours have changed compared to the ones currently listed on Yelp. So please be aware that the store closes at 5pm during the week & on Saturday. They close at 3pm on Sundays.

    Sexy B.

Bugs inside with all the donuts. Staff tried to cover it up with the donuts tongs when I pointed it out. Raised there prices just to serve food with gnats. Disgusting . They can do better but when I noticed it the covering it up was a huge health and safety issue

Good service. I'm glad they were open so early. Donuts were fresh and they serve ice cream.

Good donuts! As with any other place they're dense the later in the day you go. Not the best but the best in the area.

Best donut shop in town! And they grind their coffee. This place totally outshines the Starbucks next door.

The difference between the 2 salad sizes is $1 so made sense to just get the large. It was a good size salad but would've been perfect if it had cilantro and/or some scallions. They actually forgot smoothie at 1st and I had to find them to make it. The place itself is a good size with both indoor and outdoor seating. They also sell some baked goods and coffee. I think next time I'll get a sandwhich and soup.

They make sandwiches & have pastries. Con: 1. It's hidden. But that just may be a good thing = more seating for you and it allows for a relaxing atmosphere, especially if you want to get work done. Second, the food was insane. Given the reasonable prices we expected the dishes to be small, but they were substantial. I got the Warao pizza (added balsamic) with a kinder milkshake, my husband got the pastrami sandwich with a vanilla milkshake, our daughter got a cheese pizza and strawberry milkshake, and we got a pastellito to try. My husband had to help me with my pizza and we couldn't even try the pastellito because we were stuffed (having it for my snack tonight). And everything tasted amazing - I loved the combination of the Warao, and kinder milkshake with Nutella and kinder pieces, need I say more? And husband eats a looot of pastrami sandwiches and he was impressed with theirs. Third, we loved the vibe. It was a casual place with a modern aesthetic. 10/10 would come back again.

There's a counter area where you can order coffee, pastries, breakfast items, or food to-go, while the left side has a hostess stand if you'd prefer full table service inside or on the patio. The brunch menu was a bit limited, and I ended up ordering the croissant sandwich. The croissant itself was soft and fresh, but overall the sandwich left me wanting a little more flavor. It was on the smaller side, didn't have much bacon, and even with the preserved tomato aioli it felt a bit underwhelming. The breakfast potatoes also weren't really my favorite. They were small whole potatoes with the skins on and heavily seasoned with cayenne pepper. Personally, I would've liked another side option such as fresh fruit. That said, the staff was very friendly and welcoming throughout the visit. For two croissant sandwiches, two iced teas, and a side of fries, the total came to around $70 with tip, which felt a little pricey for the overall experience. The property itself is beautiful. It looks like they host live music and events in the outdoor quad area, and I noticed they also offer wood-fired pizza after 11 AM, which honestly sounds worth coming back to try. Overall, I have mixed feelings as the atmosphere and service were great, but the food didn't quite live up to expectations for me personally.
