Had to make a stop at one of my favorite bakery for the Señorita Bread. Got there about 11am, no lines and was able to pick up 80 pieces of their original ones and ate a few of them on the long drive back to the Bay Area. They also have some with filling, such as Pineapple, Caramel, & Strawberry Cream Cheese to name a few. Haven't tried those yet. If you haven't tried them, you need to. Within a few minutes she had a fresh box of seniorita bread for me - a box of 40. Lots of different types of snacks were being sold as well, but everyone comes for the bread. I remember the original location in Vallejo. This place has the same sweetness, but with slightly bigger pieces (yay!) but a bit overcooked and darker (nay.) We love star bread. We've gone to the one in Vallejo for years and it's the best. We discovered they had one here in Fairfield as well and it's almost as good as the one in Vallejo. It is very organized and has a variety of breads and a couple other goodies to choose from. The service is okay. They keep it short and simple but give serve you fresh señorita bread pretty quickly. I've heard of the famous senorita bread so I had to try it for myself and it lived up to the hype! I got a box of 15 for $12 because there is a $10 minimum for using a credit card but I didn't mind because more than half of the box is already gone. These are a crowd pleaser and I will definitely be back for more. These are so delicious while warm so sneak one right when they hand you the box because it's the perfect temperature. Then just pop them into the toaster oven or air fryer for a bit to warm them up later. read more

I have always loved coming here since I was a teenager and I am glad to see that they are still in business. This is definitely a once in a while treat for me, but I cannot wait for my next visit. I have no complains at all about the Señorita Bread. The bread is always freshly warm and very savory. My complain is about the customer service I received today. I asked for 4 boxes of 25 count señoritas. The lady said I had to wait 10minutes and I said it was fine. During my course of waiting more people started to come in and there was a line. Once done she brought me the boxes and rudely said in front of other customers that next time I had to order ahead because it was too many. First of all, there is nowhere in the store that it states to order ahead. I read a review on yelp stating they got 80 and sounded like no issue there. Regardless if I would have ordered ahead or not those boxes she would have sold to the next customers, so what was she upset about. Plus if I don't live here in Fairfield and come often, how are customers suppose to know that. The only thing I can think of is she got overwhelmed maybe bc there was people behind me. But before I walked in there was a customer that left with two boxes. Regardless I felt it was rude and not the way to deliver the message. If they get overwhelmed they should put something outside and indoors stating to order ahead. Besides that señoritas are always delicious. read more

The Fairfield bakery provides good service and excellent baked good. I also buy the pan de Sal, hopia, ensaymada, and more. I used to frequent the Vallejo location because it is the original and also it's closer to home. But I've noticed the quality in the sweetness has gone down in recent years. Luckily, the Fairfield location and this Vacaville/Fairfield location still keeps the sweetness level just as I remembered. Even though it is out of the way, I don't mind the drive because I know the quality of the food I am getting is not compromised. The hype for señorita bread is real, but I get it... BUT the star of my show? Carioca! I've always looked forward to these at family gatherings or when my Mom decided to bring me a treat when I was in elementary/middle school. Finally, I got the chance to try the carioca from Starbread and it was just like I remembered. Fragrant from the caramelized sugar with a touch of crisp upon first bite and then you're introduced to the bit of greasy and chewy goodness. Just divine and four carioca balls per skewer provides just enough of an indulgence. $2 a pop! I'll be back to grab some señorita bread again soon. There's absolutely nothing negative about this place. I was in the area and I had a craving for something sweet. I searched and was excited that I could get my fill of some Senôrita bread. I came here anticipating a long line. But no? I'm used to seeing a line at the one I go to in Sac, but not here. It didn't deter me a bit. I went in, bought two boxes of fifteen pieces of bread. While waiting, I noticed they sold cold ones too! I'm accustomed to buying them hot out of the oven. But since I can't eat both boxes, it would've been a good idea to buy it cold. So I bought two boxes and a bag of the cold ones. What caught my eye also was that this store also sells fresh made lumpia! My store in Sac doesn't sell them either! They also don't sell pork rinds like this place either. So I bought some lumpia too, and damn, @$.70 each, that's a deal!
