This place is perfect for those cheap and impossible to please types. Why? They say you are getting a foot massage for 35 dollars and you end up with a lot more and the process is phenomenal compared to any others including "first time" or "member" prices and the therapists on average are better. In addition I have yet to walk in and not be seen within 15 minutes and I have never called for an appointment. My first time at this location and I believe they deserve 5 stars. I got a 60 minute foot massage and it was so worth it! Since I run a lot, I get tons of knots all throughout my legs and feet. The next day after my massage, my feet and calves felt so much better. They really know their stuff! The ambiance is very quiet even though you are in a room that is separated with just curtains. I Love this place! I have had many "foot issues" through the years, the latest one being "nerve entrapment" post (minor) surgery to remove embedded glass. Every step I took was painful. I went in for a Half and Half massage, 30 min foot massage and 30 minutes on back and shoulders. The foot massage was just ok. Not sure if the lady masseuse was just inexperienced. The worst part was the back massage which was just a bunch of uncomfortable rubbing and digging of elbows near my spine. I left with more pain than I did when I came in. My family and I have been coming here for a many years and have always been very happy with the services however after my experience today, I am doubtful that I will return. I booked an appointment with Lee at 10:30 this morning and I arrived for my massage at 10:20 and met Lee there. Firstly he said that my appointment was at 11:30 and I said that is not true. He then said that I can come back at 11am and I said no because I drove 25 minutes from Petaluma as I do every week. He then said I can see Beni at 11am and I still refused. I am seriously very frustrated about this as I go to Sunset Foot Reflexology weekly and to be unfairly treated like this is very disappointing. This place really takes the edge off when I'm stressed. They have a lovely ambience and decor, better music than most upscale spas, and the curtains definitely give a nice feeling of privacy. They offer a great $35 (+tip) deal on Reflexology foot massage with a full body rub down included. I always feel a wonderful feeling of "reset" when the hour is complete. However, the quality of the practitioners is VERY inconsistent. Some days they are almost perfect, but often they are either too aggressive (pounding and pulling at limbs beyond a comfortable level) or too soft (barely getting into the tissue). Many of the therapists don't speak much english and so it causes some anxiety in communicating my needs. And often I don't want to try to explain since it's a quiet shared space. Obviously this isn't a private massage and they don't have a highly specialized intake, but it would be appreciated if they would check in every time about the level of intensity you need. That's just basic customer service! I should mention that I am a professional violinist and require semi-regular massage to keep my body in good playing condition. I choose this place because they are easy on the wallet but do a solid job with the Reflexology. I would give a higher rating but the inconsistency of service often leaves me in fear of being injured by an overly aggressive practitioner. If the managers of Sunset are reading: Please establish a better protocol of checking in before the massage begins, make sure the routine is safe and consistent, and then we can all be happy! read more

Haven't looked back since. I make it a part of my physical and sanity maintenance regime, coming at least twice monthly for one hour and every 4-6 weeks for a 90 minute session. I made an appointment, wore comfy clothes and headed to downtown Novato. It's very quiet with open spaces separated by curtains. Whisper your instructions and they will tell you which bed to go to. It was a fantastic and very deep massage. Clothes on. My neck pain went away to almost 100 percent. But because of the price of 35 bucks, I booked another for the next day. Tip well and it's still half price of other spas. May even a third the cost. My friend have been trying to convince me that regular massage is essential to your health. They are right! read more

From your head to your toes (literally) you will have your stress unwound by experienced hands. I've been coming here for over a year now and it is consistently top notch compared to other places. I find it easiest to call ahead and book an appointment on the hour, say 3:00 or 4:00. All the staff is quite good although I've seen Eric a few times lately and he's has a great touch. If you haven't had Chinese Foot Massage, it is completely different from therapeutic reflexology. The treatment is full-body (wear comfortable clothes) and while the feet are rubbed you won't likely have specific pressure points thumb and finger-walked like you will in an ARCB-certified reflexology session. I have been here a dozen times or so and always was happy with the massages, they aren't fantastic but it's pretty good for the price and I like the fact that you don't need an appointment. I went there on Christmas Eve and had the worst experience ever. The woman doing the massage was so rough, I left with bruises on my calves and all across my upper back and shoulders. I asked her twice to please be more gentle. I have a thumb injury which I told her about and she seemed to understand but when it came time to massage my left hand, she yanked on my thumb so hard, I nearly jumped off the table! Two days later, I am so sore from it and still have bruises! I really liked the idea of supporting a local business and I may return (once I am no longer in pain), but I will never go back to her. read more
