The pineapple mojito was super flavorful. The location is gorgeous with the white sand beach is right outside the door. There is validation for the parking so be sure to bring in your ticket. I've ordered the Asian chicken salad numerous times. Its tasty and a generous portion, the prices have slowly crept up( like all things). On this visit, it was $20.00. I paid with cash, the total was 21.20. I handed the server 25.00. He returned 3 dollars and 75 cents. I asked him where the nickel was and he said " we round up". Are you kidding me? First of all that is illegal. Second of all, if you're going to round, round down. How many people don't say anything and how much more $$$ do they end up with at the end of a night? They sure are not using that money to invest in their takeout flatware. Its incredibly cheap and flimsy. I could barely use it to eat my salad. read more

I love the song; so figured I'd try the restaurant. We visited on a Saturday shortly after social distancing regulations were relaxed. It was around 2:30; so it wasn't super busy. (Kind of between lunch & dinner time) It was a beautiful day so we opted to sit outside. There is a patio area with great views of the beach, and I read that this is an amazing place to watch the sun set...hence the name. They had a pretty good selection of beers, so we each ordered a beer while we looked over the menu. I ordered a taco salad and my husband ordered a shrimp po'boy. The taco salad was full of toppings & everything was really fresh & yummy. Even the shell was good! My husband said the po' boy was really delicious too and he enjoyed it and the fries that came with it. All in all it was a good restaurant with great service and delicious food. We will definitely come back when we are on the west coast of Florida....hopefully we can plan it to be there at sunset. read more

Well it comes down to what you are looking for but I found the place a little aged and unclean. I mean I like a good dive bar but I found the interior to have a little bit of a bad smell. I just had drinks so can't tell you about the food. This is a great place to catch sorts as it is more sportsbar than beach bar. Great location to. So I wouldn't shy away from the place just have some lower expectations. And maybe the food is good. read more

Our visit was on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. The restaurant was less than half full. Our intent was to watch the sunset after dinner. My wife and I had cocktails before dinner. Drinks were served in plastic hurricane glasses that were full of cracks, charged over $30 for the drinks. Diner was okay. Service was quick and it was obvious they wanted our outside table. There is a board walk for beach access and we asked our waiter if we could use it to watch the the sunset, 20 minutes from finishing dinner. He told us to go out on the beach before getting our parking gate ticket validated with the hostess. On the way to the restroom we approached the hostess with our request and were told NO, I asked Hostess "L", for her name, I was given "L" and showed the "L" hand sign. She kept blaming the Condominium complex for the strict rules. She would only give us 10 minutes extra time after I asked for 20 minutes. We drove to public beach and witnessed a beautiful sunset, just after a rain event. The irony here is obvious, not allowed to watch the sunset at the "Sunset Grill". I can only speculate as to why too much power is given to a young woman who holds the parking validation device. "L" made our visit so negative that we will never return and I will recommend going elsewhere to all we know. Happy future Sunsets, just not at the Sunset Grill. read more

My favorite go to whenever I am visiting Marco. Whether it's a causal lunch or dinner - everything is good. Today I opted for a jalapeño burger and onion rings. There is outdoor seating a available if you prefer to eat while your still in your bathing suit. I was so hungry I forgot to take pics, but I come here so often I will post them next time. read more

Catch the sunset! Great outdoor bar here on south beach. This is basically the public John too for the beachcombers apparently they don't mind ha! Fine kona beer from Hawaii on draft and fresh as all get out. They gather here for the sunset and I hear they cheer when it goes down. I came at 5:30 and there were a few outdoor bar seats. Now 5:56 and packed to the gills. Beautiful sugar mama keeps kicking my chair I knew my ship would come in. Wish me luck. Peel & eat shrimp $13 was fine, served cold w cocktail sauce. Good stuff. Cool bartender the slogan on back of shirts sez DEA. drink every afternoon. And this is the place to do it 11am-10pm seven days a week. Sunsest Grille has possibly the best location on Marco Island, with full views of the Gulf of Mexico. Located in the Apollo Condominium, the restaurant and bar are open to the public. Go for lunch or to catch the sunset, and enjoy some classic Florida seafood. It's very casual, with good service. I always love their Fried Shrimp Basket, especially with a beer or a glass of wine. Sit outside if you can, but the inside space is also quite large. It just gets a little loud with the bar off to the side. Just make sure you get your parking ticket validated before you leave! read more

Visited this place for lunch since it was a cloudy and chilly day and the husband and I stayed close by so it was easy to walk to. This place is located right on the beach. We asked to be seated outside so we could have a view of the ocean and beach. It was beautiful even if it was cloudy. The food was good; I had the cheeseburger. It was good; a little undercooked for my liking with some pink as I asked for well done. The sweet potato fries were very bland in flavor. Husband had the grilled chicken Asian salad which he enjoyed and said it had good flavor and was a good portion size for lunch. This place is worth a visit; I'm sure it's even more beautiful to watch the sunset. I will also mention that the pricing is decent for Marco Island. We paid about $40 for two meals plus two beers. If you want to eat very bad food with a beautiful view this is the place. I ordered a Mai tai it was undrinkable. It looked beautiful I'll give them that but It was all sugar. I never send drinks back, this was my first time. I didn't even feel bad for sending it back. I ordered a beer to be safe. My husband ordered fish and chips and the waitress said it was made with TILAPIA!!! However for $5 more she can use grouper. We decided to get the grouper. It didn't even matter because it was also tasteless bland and a pure disappointment. Worse fish in chips and $25! I ordered a chicken Ceasar wrap. Dry as sand with unseasoned chicken. What on earth is going on in this kitchen? The food came out in less then 5 minutes. That should of been the RED FLAG. When food comes out in minutes that's always a sign food is not freshly made. The only reason to come here is because you are on the beach and are starving. They must be getting tons of business from the beach. But to come in your car and choose this place through your own free will like we did was and is an absolute waste of time. What is saving them is a cold beer looking at the ocean. We had the most brilliant time at sunset grille. We were a bit suspicious at first because of the reviews on this app, but so glad we decided to come anyway. The Mahi tacos were insanely good, hot and fresh, and that sauce!! O!M!G! The cosmo martini was pretty strong but really good. Everyone in our party loved their food. Had a spiritual experience while eating the mahi tacos. They were amazing. Asian Chicken Salad had so much chicken. Everything was so worth it along with an amazing view of the beach! Very limited parking and you must get your ticket validated in order to get out. Located right on the beach with a stunning view of the Gulf of Mexico this is a wonderful place to get a bite to eat and check out the beach. Because of the location the price is somewhat high but when you consider the price of the location it makes sense. I ordered their chicken wings all dummies with their hot sauce. The hot sauce was not really hot but just a bit on the spicy side. They were cooked to perfection and really hit the spot for that something different than fish and chips or a burger.
