Sapphic Hour owes me absolutely nothing. My first event sponsored by Lesbian Land was the perfect way to close out 2025. I usually roll solo and can be a little socially awkward in new spaces, so when I first arrived, I definitely felt nervous and hung back by myself. But as the venue filled up, that feeling faded quickly. The energy shifted--and whew, it was palpable. Beautiful women everywhere, great vibes, and a DJ who understood the assignment. While there was music to dance to, most folks were deep in conversation, networking, and actually connecting, which I loved. The two hostesses were stunning, warm, and very present--working the crowd in a way that made the event feel intentional and welcoming. It was a rooftop situation, and I chose the three flights of stairs over the elevator (growth and cardio). Bonus points for the cute artwork lining the way up. Now, the bartender? Strictly business. Not rude, but not warm either. I'm used to bartenders at lesbian events being a little more social, a little more smiley--this one poured drinks and kept it moving. Neutral, but noticeable. What did hit? The lite bites. Elote and shrimp cocktail were a thoughtful touch and much appreciated. By the end of the night, I felt confident, comfortable, and very much in my element. So much so that I pulled out my microphone and did a few impromptu interviews--because why not? Overall, an amazing experience and a reminder that sometimes you just have to stay long enough for the magic to catch up with you. Would absolutely attend again.

Me and my wife went to Sunset Rooftop Lounge. The drinks tasted really good. They have Christmas themed drinks and the bartenders were nice and fast great customer service.

I first checked out Sunset during the beginning of the pandemi. Not a bad place to be with it mainly being a rooftop bar with great views of EaDo and the downtown skyline. Now, don't let my 3-star rating fool ya. I AM a fan of Sunset, but I do think they could improve in some areas. First, the inside often smells like a wet rag... or some sewage/plumbing issues. I'm sure that can be remedied with better airflow or a hotel-grade diffuser. Second, the cocktails aren't consistent. On my recent visit, the bartender made my aperol spritz in a rocks glass, to which I requested she transfer it into a wine glass (otherwise there wouldn't be much room for the prosecco and soda water). Other than that, everyone goes for the sunset views paired with whatever vibe the DJ is bringing.

After watching the rooftop from Truck Yard next door, decided to go check out Sunset on a Saturday night. I have no idea what's on the first floor during the daytime, but all the action is on the top floor of the building and in particular the rooftop. They have a small lounge area inside too but not why people go there. Drink prices seem kind of high for that side of town - even a simple well drink was over $10 and most of the other drinks are what you'd find at a fancy craft cocktail bars so for an old building next to breweries and casual sports bars, it seemed out of place but I guess that's the price you pay for the rooftop dance floor and DJ. I like the vibe and the energy of the music but for my taste at least, it seemed a little too heavy on the Latin music with some hiphop mixed in. I know, I'm not the target demographic but the East End isn't monolithic group so from my point of view, mixing it up a little more would have been nice. The crowd is mostly good too but there was an incident with a guy breaking some stuff and getting kicked out and there was another guy who was pretty aggressive towards someone in our group who was initially kicked out but then let back in but the staff member explained to them and they seemed ok with it so I guess it's good that the staff actually explains things and doesn't just have a knee-jerk reaction? Would visit here again when the weather is cooler.

Great spot with even better views! Brought some out of town friends during the holidays for a drink. It was the perfect spot to grab a drink, enjoy the houston skyline, listen to great music by the dj, do a little dancing, and people watch. Def stop by if you're in the area and looking for a fun place with a great view!

Here's your view now. It use to be so cute!

My heart is broken. Charged me 20% gratuity without asking said that's what they do. Only noticed when I signed my card receipt. Drink wasn't impressive either. They covered the outside patio totally taking away from the roof top experience/view Like my heart hurts. I really liked this place.

Last stop, this bar is very cute. There's an elevator to the top. The drinks were delicious, strong. And the service was quick, the bartender was amazing. I didn't catch her name tho.

This was my second time coming to Sunset lounge and both times were because a friend was having something there. It doesn't look like much on the outside and you have to take an elevator upstairs to get to the lounge. The lounge itself is small...both inside and out and it will get crowded fast. The bartenders are busy but fast. The drinks are good but there is no food. The views are great but good luck finding parking...it is right near all the other bars and the stadium. So don't be like us and go when there is an Astros game lol. Would I go back? Sure...only if a friend was having something there. Rating? Above average...3 1/2 stars...nothing really stood out but it is a fun place.

Went to Sunset last Wednesday evening and it was...interesting. My friends and I walked in and it looked like a warlock/witchcraft convention was going on. Alas, I am not easily deterred. One of my pals was ready to turn it on around and get out of there but I just had to check out the rooftop terrace I had seen from below while we were walking along the street towards the place. Plus I figured, we're here let's just check it all out. Besides as a Yelp Elite, I've pretty much always got The review I'm gonna leave in the back of my mind. Gotta make sure I've got enough to comment on. Anyway, the terrace had great views of the city and the weather was nice so it felt great. The crowd however was very, again...interesting. There was a gentleman there wearing a full face mask, eyes covered and all, who was smoking a pipe filled with god knows what through his mask. In another area there was someone twirling batons/ribbons. Oh and just b4 you step outside there was a vendor selling "party favors" to patrons. Don't get me wrong, the people watching in this place was top tier. Oh and in another area on the terrace there was someone selling crystals and gems and things. Well, turns out every 3rd Wednesday of the month is Rave night. That explained a lot. The bouncers at the door advised us as we were leaving that Fri and Sat are "normal" nights. I would possibly try this place out on one of those nights if I'm in the area in the future but admittedly the online reviews of this place don't have me too excited to run back. It was hard to decide between 2 and 3 stars.

It looked dark, clubbish, and fun (exactly what I was looking for) and I couldn't wait to come here. After a 25 minute Uber ride we were downtown and walking to our destination. At first we could not find it but thankfully a nice gentlemen showed us where it was. Upon walking in, darkness with these bright lights paved our way. We sat down at the bar, but realized dancing did not start until 10pm. The bartender came over and said to us "we have a speakasy behind door #3" we were like WHAT! Let's go. So, we walked down the dark hallway and pushed open door #3 (hence the name) to find this super cool speakeasy bar. Dim lights, really modern decor, comfy suede chairs and best of all, some really great cocktails. If you are ever in Downtown Houston, I highly recommend you coming here. I promise you will have the best time. We did not stay for dancing.

I didn't catch the bartender's name, but he greeted us immediately. There was only one other patron and the staff was decorating the bar with Christmas decor. The bartender informed us that the bar wasn't fully stocked but asked us what types of drinks we like. Based on my preference, he suggested a Martinez. I had never even heard of a Martinez but I was open to trying it. He made it, looked at it, and said it didn't come out right. He asked if it would be okay for him to redo it which I of course obliged. I appreciated the fact that he didn't serve me a drink that wasn't properly made. The wait was worth it. The Martinez tasted like a sweeter Negroni and I really enjoyed it! I'm glad I was able to visit one of the oldest bars in Houston. It was super low key and chill which was a perfect way to end our evening.

Friday after work during happy hour and the prices could not be beat, especially with their lobster bites (was sitting at about $30, and we got them half off!) Drinks were fantastic! I selected the "Golden Cadillac" that comes with a miniature bottle of Grand Marnier inside of it. Very good. My company decided on an array of appetizers for his "main course", while I went with their Fried Salmon (served with Mac and cheese, and collard greens). Omg! So tasty! The pepper was prevalent throughout, but it did not over power the flavor! I make collard greens at home (and learned from one of the best), and even I found theirs to be pretty good! My company selected fried ribs, along with the lobster bites, and crawfish queso dip, and their wings! I tasted what he got, and we both agreed that the wings were "off the chart" delicious with a beautiful straight off the grill smoky flavor! So good that he got another order to go! Lol. What made our experience there amazing was our server Ray (Rajean = think "the 90's TV Show "Living Single"..."smooches"!)...she was the best!! From her hello, to walking us through the menu (as first-timers), her recommendations, her energy, her smile, and her being very relatable. Loved her! My only gripe was the bathrooms, the ladies room needed attention (and could use a spruce all around). It doesn't help that it is a bit small, but yeah, they need to focus some efforts on ensuring it's upkeep. As for seating and parking, there is a bar area and limited seating toward the front of the restaurant, but it does extend to back of the house with additional seating. There is also patio seating as well. Because this place seems popular, it is best to reserve ahead to ensure your seating. Parking is very limited! They do however, offer valet (but at $20+). There is off-street parking, but be careful since this is a residential area and nothing is secure. All in all, I really had a great time and left with my belly full! Definitely worth checking out! What was lost is now found! Enjoy!
