Sapphic Hour owes me absolutely nothing. My first event sponsored by Lesbian Land was the perfect way to close out 2025. I usually roll solo and can be a little socially awkward in new spaces, so when I first arrived, I definitely felt nervous and hung back by myself. But as the venue filled up, that feeling faded quickly. The energy shifted--and whew, it was palpable. Beautiful women everywhere, great vibes, and a DJ who understood the assignment. While there was music to dance to, most folks were deep in conversation, networking, and actually connecting, which I loved. The two hostesses were stunning, warm, and very present--working the crowd in a way that made the event feel intentional and welcoming. It was a rooftop situation, and I chose the three flights of stairs over the elevator (growth and cardio). Bonus points for the cute artwork lining the way up. Now, the bartender? Strictly business. Not rude, but not warm either. I'm used to bartenders at lesbian events being a little more social, a little more smiley--this one poured drinks and kept it moving. Neutral, but noticeable. What did hit? The lite bites. Elote and shrimp cocktail were a thoughtful touch and much appreciated. By the end of the night, I felt confident, comfortable, and very much in my element. So much so that I pulled out my microphone and did a few impromptu interviews--because why not? Overall, an amazing experience and a reminder that sometimes you just have to stay long enough for the magic to catch up with you. Would absolutely attend again.

Me and my wife went to Sunset Rooftop Lounge. The drinks tasted really good. They have Christmas themed drinks and the bartenders were nice and fast great customer service.

I first checked out Sunset during the beginning of the pandemi. Not a bad place to be with it mainly being a rooftop bar with great views of EaDo and the downtown skyline. Now, don't let my 3-star rating fool ya. I AM a fan of Sunset, but I do think they could improve in some areas. First, the inside often smells like a wet rag... or some sewage/plumbing issues. I'm sure that can be remedied with better airflow or a hotel-grade diffuser. Second, the cocktails aren't consistent. On my recent visit, the bartender made my aperol spritz in a rocks glass, to which I requested she transfer it into a wine glass (otherwise there wouldn't be much room for the prosecco and soda water). Other than that, everyone goes for the sunset views paired with whatever vibe the DJ is bringing.

After watching the rooftop from Truck Yard next door, decided to go check out Sunset on a Saturday night. I have no idea what's on the first floor during the daytime, but all the action is on the top floor of the building and in particular the rooftop. They have a small lounge area inside too but not why people go there. Drink prices seem kind of high for that side of town - even a simple well drink was over $10 and most of the other drinks are what you'd find at a fancy craft cocktail bars so for an old building next to breweries and casual sports bars, it seemed out of place but I guess that's the price you pay for the rooftop dance floor and DJ. I like the vibe and the energy of the music but for my taste at least, it seemed a little too heavy on the Latin music with some hiphop mixed in. I know, I'm not the target demographic but the East End isn't monolithic group so from my point of view, mixing it up a little more would have been nice. The crowd is mostly good too but there was an incident with a guy breaking some stuff and getting kicked out and there was another guy who was pretty aggressive towards someone in our group who was initially kicked out but then let back in but the staff member explained to them and they seemed ok with it so I guess it's good that the staff actually explains things and doesn't just have a knee-jerk reaction? Would visit here again when the weather is cooler.

Great spot with even better views! Brought some out of town friends during the holidays for a drink. It was the perfect spot to grab a drink, enjoy the houston skyline, listen to great music by the dj, do a little dancing, and people watch. Def stop by if you're in the area and looking for a fun place with a great view!

Here's your view now. It use to be so cute!

My heart is broken. Charged me 20% gratuity without asking said that's what they do. Only noticed when I signed my card receipt. Drink wasn't impressive either. They covered the outside patio totally taking away from the roof top experience/view Like my heart hurts. I really liked this place.

Last stop, this bar is very cute. There's an elevator to the top. The drinks were delicious, strong. And the service was quick, the bartender was amazing. I didn't catch her name tho.

This was my second time coming to Sunset lounge and both times were because a friend was having something there. It doesn't look like much on the outside and you have to take an elevator upstairs to get to the lounge. The lounge itself is small...both inside and out and it will get crowded fast. The bartenders are busy but fast. The drinks are good but there is no food. The views are great but good luck finding parking...it is right near all the other bars and the stadium. So don't be like us and go when there is an Astros game lol. Would I go back? Sure...only if a friend was having something there. Rating? Above average...3 1/2 stars...nothing really stood out but it is a fun place.

Went to Sunset last Wednesday evening and it was...interesting. My friends and I walked in and it looked like a warlock/witchcraft convention was going on. Alas, I am not easily deterred. One of my pals was ready to turn it on around and get out of there but I just had to check out the rooftop terrace I had seen from below while we were walking along the street towards the place. Plus I figured, we're here let's just check it all out. Besides as a Yelp Elite, I've pretty much always got The review I'm gonna leave in the back of my mind. Gotta make sure I've got enough to comment on. Anyway, the terrace had great views of the city and the weather was nice so it felt great. The crowd however was very, again...interesting. There was a gentleman there wearing a full face mask, eyes covered and all, who was smoking a pipe filled with god knows what through his mask. In another area there was someone twirling batons/ribbons. Oh and just b4 you step outside there was a vendor selling "party favors" to patrons. Don't get me wrong, the people watching in this place was top tier. Oh and in another area on the terrace there was someone selling crystals and gems and things. Well, turns out every 3rd Wednesday of the month is Rave night. That explained a lot. The bouncers at the door advised us as we were leaving that Fri and Sat are "normal" nights. I would possibly try this place out on one of those nights if I'm in the area in the future but admittedly the online reviews of this place don't have me too excited to run back. It was hard to decide between 2 and 3 stars.

I would limit groups to 3-4 people to avoid the crowding around the wine wall. I say that because the place feels more of an intimate experience that should be reserved for solo dates, dates with your significant other, or when you really need to have a heart to heart with someone. When I went, there were two large parties and the number of tables did not compliment the size of the space; it felt too crowded with all those people there. I enjoyed the smooth process of the wine experience but warning, you'll be surprised at how much you spend at the end so come during happy hour! The menu truly complimented the wine selection; my favorite being the shrimp. My only complaint is there is a major room for improvement in the lack of sweet treats. The only option was bread pudding (which I never had) but they were "out" (I arrived 1hr after they opened on a Sunday) I recommend adding chocolate that could be paired with fruit bowl option to the menu.

You can choose between 3 or 6oz pours, or a bottle. We also decided to share a cheese board with the Willoughby cheese which was soft and delicious! Items we tried: Pane - delicious Roasted Carrot Pizza - AMAZING, A little spicy, but definitely something we would order again. Pastas we ordered initially came out cold - our incredible waiter immediately corrected the issue. But from a flavor profile - Pansotti - sooooo delicious. You'd never guess that it was a vegetarian option - the mushrooms were so meaty. The delicate pouches with the spinach and ricotta were heavenly. Pappardelle - The lamb braised sauce had a depth of flavor that could rival any restaurant in Italy. My only tiny hope was that the pasta would have been served aldente, it was a little overcooked. Is this the most overrated restaurant in Houston?…read more After being on my "To Try" list for an unacceptable amount of time, I finally made my way over to Nancy's Hustle. I was lucky enough to snag a seat at the bar with no reservation. I arrived about 30 minutes into open and there was already a wait list. I suggest getting there early or making a reservation if you're not a solo diner. The interior is nice and intimate, with low lighting that doesn't work well for photos but definitely for a cozy dinner. The set up and music reminded me a little bit of 93 Til due to the decor. I started with the duck dumplings and the Nancy cakes. I wasn't expecting it but they offer half orders which is great for a solo diner who wants to try multiple things. Both items were delicious. The dumplings had a nice savory sauce with some texture from the peanuts. These were great but probably my bottom of the list which is saying something. I would only say this because they reminded me a lot of the hot oil wontons from duck and bao so at that price point, you might as well get more. The Nancy cakes were pillowy and savory and made a great vessel for honey butter and roe. I even used a bit to dunk into the leftover dumpling sauce. I suggest eating these as soon as they hit your table. I was trying to savor my bites but the cakes benefit a lot from being nice and hot. It's not the most ground breaking dish in the world but it's done well and I would definitely call it a must order. I could have eating a full order of it alone. My main dishes is where my mind was blown. I went with the roast chicken and half order of the gem lettuce salad and fries. This might be the best roast chicken I've ever had in Houston. Chicken can be a hit or a miss because sometimes, there just isn't much flavor. This was absolutely not the case here. The chicken was juicy and seasoned to the core. It even heated up well as left overs without being dry. The chili sauce on the bottom was flavor intensified and as I swiped my chicken through the pools of sauce, I thought to myself "overrated where?!". The gem salad caught me by surprise. I'm not one to stay away from a salad at a restaurant because they typically do them better than you can make at home . Nancy's Hustle solidified this opinion. The salad was wonderfully briney and savory. The lettuce was crisp and covered in the herby shallot dressing that grabbed my taste buds. Topped with anchovies and pancetta for a nice salty touch. So so good. The fries were the perfect side, crisp and not too potatoey (yes this is a thing). I traded in the aoli for some ketchup because that's just my thing. I concluded this wonderful dining experience with a dessert. Buttermilk ice cream with cornflakes, black berries and honey butter cookie. This dessert was a lesson in balance. Every component was present , sweet, salty, crunchy, cool. Each bite had something new to offer and combined into a perfectly executed dessert. As a cocktail, I tried their tropical drink. I don't remember what it was called but I know I could have drank about 7 of those. This was a great dining experience. I think when things get popular, sometimes we feel the need to be contrarians with our experiences. That wasn't the case for me. Nancy's Hustle has earned its popularity and I'll definitely be back

I got the Bacon covered Dates, the Pizza, and the Sticky Toffee Cake. The Brussels were good - husband liked them more than me. They were good. Had cashews in them. Little spicy. The bacon covered dates. Think this was my favorite bite. Sweet, salty, creamy. Came we three & I had two. The pizza was sweet and salty as well. The crust was so good and fresh. The arugula set it off so well. Def a buy again! The Steak Frites was so good. The chimichurri sauce was perfect. Just the right mount of citrus. Steak was tender and the fries seasoned well. The desserts - don't skip them! The Devils Affogato we had the first time we ate at Sixty Vines. Had to have it again. If you like coffee, chocolate and vanilla ice cream just get it.
