Service was okay. View was nice. Seating was good for us. Music was good. Chicken sandwich was very tasty, burger as well, and shrimp not so much. Beer was cold. They have a bunch of smoothies on the menu that they don't have. Can't do virgin drinks other than a strawberry daiquiri due to them being made in drink machine.

There are many less touristy places that have less expensive food and the same sunset. That said if you just want a key west experience then walking out onto this pier for sunset is a must! Food is good, drinks are good and views and service are great!

We happily got a small high top outside just before the sun was setting. What an amazing view to have at dinner. Went for an easy burger order. The food was great. The margaritas were perfect, not too sweet! Our server(s) were great. Zero complaints and will definitely be back on my next visit

The Sunset Pier is adjacent to Mallory Square. It is very casual. We were the first ones on the pier. The chairs were stools, which I find very uncomfortable, also the pier gets quite hot. There were a number of chairs with backs. Randi, our waitress, was great and didn't rush us while we decided on our drinks, and food. There was music as you got closer to Sunset. Try the Key Lime Pie. It is the official pie of Florida. We walked back to Mallory Square for the Sunset, but you can enjoy the Sunset right from the Sunset Pier, and enjoy the band.

If you want to have a great time and watch the sun set on the west coast while in key west, this is your place to go!!! We sat out on the pier and you can see the beautiful gulf. The sunset here was gorgeous! The food was great, but I was so busy taking in the views that I forgot to snag pictures. They have draft beer, bottle and a full bar. Lots of local craft beers as well. They have a great stage for live music and room for a dance floor on the pier. Our server was so fun, even dancing with us. She also recommended several other good spots to check out while we were there. Definitely a must do when in Key West!

Nothing fancy, but as the name states, Sunset pier is the best place to watch the sunset. Arrives early, order some drinks and apps and stay for dinner with live music. We got the lobster roll and poke bowl and both were great! Ambiance was exactly what we were looking for with the live music, breeze, views and chill vibes. Also got a Bloody Maria that was pretty good too. French fries were a bit salty and lobster roll didn't have mayo which was different but delicious. Happened upon this because we heard the Key West Chick Fest was playing there. Was looking to watch the sunset in Mallory Square but recognized we were very close to SSP. The Sunset Pier has a great location and we enjoyed sitting on the pier while a young woman sang and played guitar. She was really enjoyable. The view is the draw and didn't disappoint but we had less than a great experience. First and foremost, the service was very slow when ordering or getting the check but the food came out quickly by a different person. I ordered a Paloma and it was awful. I didn't complain but can say that I would not recommend this drink. It was sour. My husband's pina colada was excellent. I ordered a lobster roll (served with fries) and although it was not traditional, there was plenty of lobster and the bun was toasted. My husband's burger was very large and greasy. For dessert, the key lime pie was quite good. Finally, the bathrooms are located in the parking garage nearby and I had to ask for directions. The bathrooms were not clean and one of two toilets was not working.

Did not come for sunset, but stopped by for lunch on a Saturday and had a great time. The male bartender was awesome, easy to chat with, and made delicious drinks. He constantly kept making sure we were taken care of even when they started getting busy. We tried some of the smaller plate options and they were a win all around. Pretzels and the shrimp tostada Obviously the view is beautiful and the colorful chairs and tables with the island music paints the perfect picture!

First time here. Had a very long wait for waitress to come for a drink order. Ordered food at the same time (which I normally don't do) because of the long wait. When food arrived, it was really good. Felt bad for waitress as there was only one for the full pier. She said it was ok. I told her it wasn't ok for the customers as the wait was too long for initial service. Management should pay attention as customers walked away. We were just about ready to leave too. Beautiful view of the Gulf of Mexico. Rating is for food. Would rate a 3 for the service because of the long wait. Rating for waitress would be a 4. read more

Great place to sit have DELICIOUS blackened fish tacos, order a drink and watch the sunset. They have live music also....while we stayed at the eastern end of the key (Hyatt Beach House) we found ourselves coming here most nights just for the food, drinks, music and gorgeous sunsets. Very casual and laid back atmosphere and a find your own spot seating...a true Key West atmosphere, relaxation and enjoyment doesn't get better than this. read more

Great peel and eat shrimp. Pork empanadas were fabulous. Live the cool breeze and view. Food and drink kind of a side goal when sitting on a dock overlooking Sunset Key! This would be an amazing place for sunset viewing. There is live music here too. Not too crazy at all during my visit! read more

The location alone makes this place worth 4 stars, but they also have good food and great drinks. This is one of the best places to see a sunset on Key West. The view is beautiful. I ordered the chorizo melt and my wife a tuna melt. The sandwiches were good. Only thing I didn't like was that they came with chips and it was an upcharge to sub fries. Overall a nice place to grab a casual dinner and watch the sunset. read more

Probably the best view of the sunset one can find in Key West - I agree with users who say it's worth the four stars for the view alone. The ambiance of the place is pleasant, with live music and dancing couples abound. With regard to the food, I would recommend anything from the raw bar or the mahi burger. The food was a bit pricy, but I think one pays more for the view than the food. My friends and I got Rum Runners (use the check in on here to get a discount), and were pleasantly surprised to find an extra shot comes with the drink - aside from the shot the drink is perfect for the hot weather. I would definitely recommend this place for a sunset dinner - just keep in mind you'll definitely be shelling out some coins for the meal. read more

I mean just for the view they get high marks!!! Watched a beautiful sunset on this pier while having a couple drinks, listening to some live music and had the fish dip appetizer. All of it was very lovely and would highly recommend coming here. Our waiter was great too! read more

Although this place has the best location compared to any other restaurant around it, it is not worth the hype. The place is only good around the evening time and after the sunset the waiter/waitresses start to get lazy. The service was really slow and bad. I ordered for a lobster sandwich without the bacon in it but I get my order with bacon inside. When asked the waitress said you can just pull those bacon out they aren't any inside the sandwich but I ended chewing a lot of bacon with the lobster. Felt disgusted that minute itself. Don't know if it was a mistake or not but I had a bad experience with this place. read more

Perfect end to a beautiful first night in the keys. The live music, the delicious mahi mahi, the laid back and colorful outdoor seating directly on the water, the bucket of imperial beer that we hadn't had since we were in Costa RICA...it was all too amazing! That sunset though...that was truly s special event for all. I love this place! read more

Stopped by for a beer, ended up ordering an appetizer. Sat there overlooking the Gulf, watching the waves. People watching is fun at this location. The things tourists wear. The beer selection was mostly commercial, hardly a craft beer on the menu. Had some nachos, which any beer will wash down just as well. Fun place. read more

We had our first drinks here on this visit to Key West (and more later on). Good service and pleasant staff. Drinks were spot on. Oysters cost a lot for a place on the gulf but face it: what a place. The ceviche needed more acid and salt but then was good. Conch fritters were spot on! If you get a table (evenings are mad) then plan to hang around awhile. There is often entertainment as people unused to the sun and other vacation activities fall off their stool. It is a happenin' place with frequent visits from paramedics. read more

Need to give 0 stars. Do not go. $10 for watered down cocktails. Asked for another shot and they charged $9 for a shot and $2 additional for neat. Total BS. Sunset viewing is not worth it. Go elsewhere for happy hour specials. read more

I love it. It's next to the water. Service is good. There's a live band, which is okay I prefer to have no live entertainment. I had the lobster grilled cheese. I assume it would be a typical grilled cheese when you taste the cheese. It was good don't get me wrong. It felt like I had a tuna grilled sandwich with little of cheese. I recommend the place for the sights and enjoy the food with the view. Only con is the space. I get somewhat claustrophobic. With Irma destroying the main area it gets pretty crowded easily read more

The view here is great (but like many blocked by that island). There are high top tables as well as bar-style seating at the railing facing the sunset. The food wasn't good. Just typical cheap/greasy bar fare. Beer selection wasn't that great and cocktails were overly sweet made with not the best liquor. If you want to come here for the view go ahead but skip it otherwise. If you do come just sit at the edge. If you don't someone will come along and sit right in front of your view. read more

This yelp thing is neat. My granddaughter taught me how to do it. I had lunch on the dock with my son, granddaughter and great grandchildren and it was very good. The waitress was very kind to the children which is really important to me. read more

Went here first to see the sunset because it's a BEAUTIFUL view. Then we decided to stay here for dinner. The food is pretty good. The portions are generous. The service is a tad bit slow, but it was on the busier side. Also, all of the condiment bottles were empty so that was annoying when you're trying to eat fries with a dime sized amount of ketchup. Overall, it was a nice experience to eat some food on the pier and watch the beautiful sunset. If you have large groups, you should find somewhere else. The tables fit 4 at most. read more

It has a good view, the cocktails are flavored right (not too strong not watered down( the food taste great. But the prices are very high for the portion size. All items we ordered with lobster came out with 3/4 small pieces of the meat. The $22 lobster grill cheese had two small pieces on one side and 3 on the other. All other food items were exactly the same. Skimpy more like an appetizer than a meal. Wait staff was slow. Granted to place gets busy but even the water came out 20-min after arrival. read more

This is one of the places you HAVE to visit when you go to Key West. Be sure to get here an hour before the sunset to get a good spot. The sunset was absolutely breathtaking. They always have live music as well. The reason I give it four stars is because they are severely understaffed, and you will most likely be sitting on wood, if you want the best view of the sunset. I recommend not using the waitress. Have one person hold your spot and the other grab drinks. I was also very unimpressed with their famous "rum runner" However their piña colada was superb! I also noted that it was a birthday dinner which the server also recognized by bringing out dessert at the end of the meal. We all absolutely loved our food and the service was top notch. Our waiter was knowledgeable of the menu, friendly, and never kept us waiting or wanting for anything. He brought clean flatware between courses and kept our beverages full. I enjoyed the Heart of Palm salad with added grilled shrimp which was plentiful. Others at the table had the snapper (whole fish!), lobster fettuccine, and roasted chicken. We also devoured the lobster Mac and Cheese as a starter. I would definitely recommend dining her if you want higher end service and food right on Duval Street.

In fact, happy hour is already on the list for our next visit. The sangria was so good that we may have lost track of how many glasses we had. The tapas format made it easy to try a variety of dishes, and everything we ordered was flavorful and well prepared. There wasn't a single plate that made us wish we'd ordered something else. What I liked most was how relaxed everything felt. We took our time, shared dishes, drank sangria, and enjoyed the afternoon without feeling rushed. Sunset Pier in Key West is an absolute gem! The atmosphere alone is worth the visit--serene, laid-back, and just the perfect spot to unwind. Carly, the bartender, was an absolute standout! She not only served up some fantastic drinks but also added that extra touch of warmth and hospitality that made the experience even better. Though the sunset didn't make its grand appearance during my visit, the anticipation and the vibe at Sunset Pier were still incredibly enjoyable. Sipping on an Amstel Light, I found myself completely immersed in the moment, eagerly awaiting nature's spectacle--maybe next time, right? This place is a definite must-visit in Key West! The ambiance, the service, and the overall experience make it a standout destination. I can't wait to return and hopefully catch that elusive sunset, but even without it, Sunset Pier has already left an unforgettable impression. Cheers to many more memorable moments here! read more

Went there last night to watch the sunset. First time to Key West and heard this place had great food and a gorgeous sunset view, well one out of is only ok when you add in a horrible blindside shot. My wife and I enjoyed ok food, Yucha fry appetizers are great, lobster Mac and cheese, eh. Then the sunset view, well I imagine it would have been nice but there was a live "band" (two guys and a lot of electrical equipment) there. They were so loud and the music sucked so bad we gave up trying to yell (couldn't talk, "music" was too loud) at each other and left. Extremely disappointing. read more

Tried the fried chicken sandwich and the blackened mahi-mahi sandwich both were absolutely mouth-watering. The flavors were spot on, fresh, and satisfying. The relaxed beachside ambiance made the experience even more special, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Al makes you feel at home at Sunset Pier! Always good drinks, (pineapple was purchased elsewhere but pic is at the pier) the food is great, we had the fish dip and it was super fresh and authentic! Great music performers and nice breeze when you're too hot from walking down Duval Street. read more
