I have no idea what has happened to this wonderful place... my family and I have been coming here for years. It's always been excellent, until now. Yesterday we went and were there for a total of 3 hours and all we had was 4 apps and one drink each. That is how long it took for our server to tend our table and they were not even that busy. It ruined our entire night because we were there for so long. She hardly spoke English as well as the boy who came to run our food and also brought something we did not order and claimed to tell us that we did, he tried to give us coconut shrimp but we wanted peel and eat shrimp. Then the peel and eat shrimp that we have been getting for years that we all love, is now served in a little metal bowl without A bed of ice like it should. We sent it back. The conch hushpuppies is just your average hush puppy... I didn't taste any conch in it at all. Not a family/racially friendly place. While we were looking for a place to sit, instead of helping us, the server named Al was rude, patronizing and condescending. I wonder if it has something to do with us being people of color or of different religion, he definitely need to be educated in hospitality and culture/religious inclusiveness. The girl who came to serve us later was nice. Food was just ok. If you are not a white American, better no expect much. I would never go there again. read more

Maybe the best place in the Keys for watching the sunset. We visited Sunset Pier, Zero Duval St., Key West in February 2018. It is located at the far north end of iconic Mallory Square. You can't see the street performers from Sunset but you can sit at a harbor-side table and enjoy a nice beverage and/or meal and be seriously entertained by a variety of watercraft passing by. Usually there is a cruise ship at the dock to add to the nautical enjoyment. They also have great servers and live music. read more

We sort of stumbled upon this place because it's essentially on the water and there was a live band playing, all of which was charming to us. I ordered the conch fritters (never had conch) and the tuna burger. I can't really comment on the fritter because I haven't had such a dish before but I can say that I wish that conch played more of a role in the dish. It seems a bit hidden. I had to eat a few bites to even taste the conch. I did not like the tuna burger. The menu said it was a seared tuna burger. The tuna was not seared - it was completely cooked. It tasted like it came out of a can. As a result, it was dry. I was pretty disappointed. The service was great though, it would be an awesome place during the day or at sunset, and the live band is a plus. I would come back for drinks and for the view. read more

I really do think this is about as good as it gets. The view from Sunset Pier is hands down one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life. With a cold tasty drink in one hand and my radiant girlfriend by my side, this was about as perfect as it gets. read more

The view is spectacular *if* you arrive early enough to get a table and a front row seat. Otherwise, you'll find yourself squeezing between people to get that great shot. The food was good, we both got two versions of their fresh Mahi sandwiches - one grilled and one blackened. It's been a while since I've had fresh Mahi, and we liked it. It seems kind of prone to getting a lot of those 40-somethings that have been drinking all day and end up being the center of attention...despite no one else wanting them to be. A nice outdoor bar with live music. If you don't want to go to Mallory square to watch the sunset, this is a nice alternative. On our last visit they had a full band playing that was enjoyable. We always enjoy coming here. read more

Worst lobster grilled cheese. Not grilled, cold, and lots of mayo. Gross!!!!, ceasar salad taste stale and processed. I would not recommend to anyone. Terrible and cranky service. Not even worth the one star. read more

No doubt the location is wonderful but.....I stopped into the outdoor bar last night to grab a drink with my parents. As I was paying for my 2 drinks, I decided to get a third. The bartender stood in front of me and literally rolled his eyes. I asked what the trouble was (the reaction was so obnoxious I wasn't going to let him get away with it) and he said, "well, it's just easier to make all the drinks at once." Of course it is...and as an adult who frequents bars, I am certainly aware of that. But does a last minute add of a $10 cocktail in a bar 1/2 full of people warrant that sort of public reaction? That's something management should decide. read more

Just sat at a table for 20 minutes and had 4 waitresses walk past us multiple times and wouldn't even acknowledge our presence. Not a good impression to be staying at your resort at $400 a night. read more

The location is great. And that's the only good thing about this place. Server acted like she didn't want to serve us. They completely screwed up our order. My wife was about done eating by the time miner showed up. Fish sandwich uneventful. Fries cold. If you must drink here and enjoy the view, so be it, but there are so many better places to eat. read more

Ordered a Bahama Mama and it was literally ALL alcohol. True Bahama Mama is made with some pineapple and orange juice, splash of grenadine. I had bartender add juice and it was still so hideous I ended up with a beer. I never complain about a drink. Even if it's mediocre. Ordered pork nachos and they weren't that good. Would not waste money to go back. Over priced for what you get. Too many places that have great food in Key West. Not here!!!! read more

Don't expect service during the hour before sunset. We waited, and waited for over an hour, and finally left without a single server approaching us. We tried to get their attention, but to no avail. In their defense it was a little crowded, but it was only a Thursday evening. We ended up going to Santiago's Bodega for an excellent dinner instead. read more

Excellent food! The Mexican corn on the cob and yucca fries are a must! Most tables and chairs are comfy and views of the ocean and sunset are amazing if you get there early enough. The service was a bit slow but we weren't in a huge rush at the time. read more

One of my favorite places, possibly anywhere. You sit out on a pier surrounded by water, watching the boats pass, the sun set, the live band on stage. The food is tasty, the drinks are strong (both are pricey though FYI) and all is right in the world if only for a little while. HI went to this bar on a Tuesday in December and had a great time with my Mom - we each had a Mai Tai and were charged 8 dollars a piece for a great drink! Come back the next day and AL the bartender practically yelled at me telling me they don't have those there, argued with me for no good reason and then proceeded to charge me 20 dollars for 2 Mai Tais. He took my 20 turned his back to me and walked away. I checked with the other bartender and she confirmed they were only 8 bucks a piece and YES they do have them there. I complained to the manager, Roger, and nothing happened so obvioulsy they could care less how their customers are treated at this bar. There are WAY too many good bars with great people working at them in Key West to waste time at this one. I recommend to skip it since you will get ripped off. read more

Food was pretty alright. Nothing special. Amazing view. Food came out fast. The 2 stars is because of the service. My girlfriend and I sat at the bar, ordered drinks and asked for a menu. We're not new to playing the restaurant game whatsoever. We also do NOT enjoy being the typical annoying tourists so we like to figure things out on our own and go into places with a game plan. We blended in so well a tourist woman approached me and asked me for help on how to get around on the pier. My GF and I laughed a bit as I responded "I have no clue this is our second day here." Pretty funny. Anyway, It's a wrap around bar staffed with 3 bartenders and 2 barbacks for a relatively dead bartop. We were ignored by the bartenders and had to flag them down everytime we wanted anything. Remember, we're sitting at their bartop, literally right in front of them. We ordered 3 rounds of drinks each, 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. They were more than accommodating to the regulars, smiling and having casual conversation. Thats not a problem though, as I dont expect that as a tourist, but Im saying that to show how different they were to us. All I expected from them was to do their job. However they seemed so bothered just to acknowledge us. They also practice updating your check everytime you order and placing it inside of an upside down glass in front of you. Thats awesome and fine. I know many places that also do that. When we were ready to go we couldnt get their attention so I flipped the cup right side up and placed our credit card in it with the check. I figured since they are so dilligent to place checks in front of customers, theyll definitely notice this gesture. Nope. At one point our check blew out of the glass and I caught it on the bartop and placed it back in the cup. This got the attention of the bartender in front of us. He looked at me, looked at the check I was placing into the cup with our card, and walked away. That made no sense to me. I know youd obviously rather have your regulars at your bartop, so wouldnt you be happy the tourists want to close out to clear up the bartop? At the very least youre turning another table. We were very confused by their behavior. We kept this reciept because we did not tip these a-holes and I know of stories where servers and bartenders change tips on cards when they enter them at the end of the shift. If they do change the tip I am fully prepared to have this conversation with their staff and go up their chain on command. If you couldnt tell I have service industry experience, specifically as a bartender at a tourist hotspot in Austin, TX. My message to the bartenders at Sunset Pier: if tourists bother you so much, why the F do you work at a tourist restaurant at the end of Duval street, the tourist epicenter of Key West? Those fools missed out on what wouldve been an awesome tip. The bartender at thr Bahama Breeze in Orlando, FL right by all the theme parks was really tight though and got that good tip. Tl;dr bartenders hate tourists and ignore you if youre not a regular. Average food, amazing view. read more

I came here twice for a cocktail, once in the afternoon for a bloody Mary and once in the evening for the sunset. The drinks were great both times and the bartenders were great. Definitely a great sunset. read more

I'm surprised this place wasn't more busy at 9pm on a Saturday night. Once the live music finished, everyone bounced. I thought the food was decent, drinks were ok, and the view was great (right on the pier). My one issue would be I wished the wait staff was a bit faster (it took us a long time to order food/drinks) and there isn't a hostess so you kind of walk around a bit confused and hope that wait staff saw you sit down. Great spot! Very crowded around sunset, so if you want a table on the pier get there plenty early. The margarita was average, but the yucca fries were far above! We just stopped here for drinks to watch the sunset but the apps were delicious. read more

Fantastic location for drinks any time of day - right on the water. The drink options will satisfy anyone. The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive. We only ordered food once - the jerk chicken strips. Those were very good. I'll definitely be back. read more
