It's a common name in Japan, but when I brought it up with the Latina server, she looked puzzled and didn't know. No rice balls or mochi here but plenty of sandwiches, breakfast bagels, and smoothies. And of course, coffee drinks. On my first visit here, I had the perfectly acceptable $6.75 Keiko's Nutella Latte with a $3 Chocolate Glazed Donut (Photo 6). I had it at the one teeny-tiny table within their space. There's also a counter and a couple of sidewalk tables. Today, when I returned months later, those tables were occupied by obvious regulars who must like to hang out. I had the $6.75 Iced Latte (Photo 4). Again, perfectly acceptable. I might graduate to a sandwich one of these days. Score--it was a quick drive and we snagged parking ~3 minutes away in a residential neighborhood. There is also street parking (and it looks like a Muni line runs by, too!) First off--love the purple decor and theme. It's bright, light, airy, feminine, fresh, and fun. Their purple hoodie merch is so cute! From the menu--there's a lot to choose from! I'd say they're known for their specialty lattes. The cashier was kind and friendly and recommended the dulce de leche latte--prices here are lower than in other parts of the city, so I leveled up and got medium iced ($5.25.) For a specialty latte, that feels like a steal! I will definitely be back to try their horchata latte which is also popular, and if you come in the Fall, they have lots of Fall drinks (PSL, pumpkin pie chai, spiced brown sugar latte, pumpkin cream matcha, candy corn latte...so fun!) For brunch food (it was brunch time!), I tried the Breakfast Panini with bacon and chipotle aioli ($7.95.) It was warm, gooey, and delicious--I love how they prepared the eggs. I liked the spicy aioli too--it paired well with everything. My partner got the strawberry banana smoothie ($5.75) and Bagel with Egg, Cheese & Bacon Breakfast ($5.75 + $2 for bacon=$7.75). He devoured it and also liked the bacon and eggs. We waited a bit after we'd ordered a bit longer than we expected. When we first walked in, it was empty, but then a line formed and it was full inside so they were busy! Kudos to the staff for working hard to churn out orders. I was scared since the middle is always the best, but thankfully after gobbling up the middle, the rest was also soft on the inside albeit with a slightly harder exterior. Great morning bun. They also sprinkled cinnamon on top, reminiscent of having a nata. Beauty. The Tea Rx was BIG. I was not ready to be so caffeinated, served cold it has a hint of sweetness, no dryness or bitterness as with some teas. Just be prepared to nurse it, not chug it in 15 mins like me. Making a turn on Richland street I ran into Cafeto Coffee shop. Inside you can get breakfast sandwiches like the chicken pesto panini and also the ham and cheese flakey croissants like some in SF. The cup appeared child size at 4 oz as our daughter's butterfly lemonade( ($5) arrived in a 6-8 oz portion. My husband said his turkey sandwich ($14) was 8/10 leaving him thoroughly satisfied and fulfilled. Our daughter's chocolate chip cookie ($5) was large, chewy, moist and filled with lots of chocolate chips. Both sides of service were friendly, patient and presented smiles.
