This place is so underrated!! The butterfly pea flower latte is sooooo good, it was love at first sip! Has a unique flavor and not too sweet but still can taste the honey. We also got the Brie sandwich baguette and that was also very tasty. The best part of this is that the prices are very reasonable for the quality and location. Would give it 6 stars if possible!!
Straight out of a fairytale! Nestled in Golden Gate Park, near a carousel and a playground you'll find this cute little cottage with lots of offerings. Sit at the cute teal bistro chairs or bring a picnic blanket or quickly stop by while exploring the park! The options are unlimited and the staff are so kind. For the parents looking to have their caffeine fix whilst being able to let the kids run loose this is the perfect spot! We could have been here all day (as long as the coffee shop was open). The matcha was on the stronger side which i prefer, price was fair. This is the place to be especially on a perfect 68 degree and sunny day!
One of my favorite spots in GG park! Cutest little cafe! I've enjoyed their seasonal matchas and gluten free dynamo donuts! I've tried the brie sandwich on gluten free bread and it was delicious. It normally comes on a a baguette but the normal bread was fine! Plenty of seating at the park but I usually take it to go! Usually gets loud with all the kids at the park. Staff is so sweet and accommodating! I'm glad they have a permanent location.
What a cute little coffee shop nestled inside Golden Gate Park. My mother and I were walking around Stow lake and became parched and needed a pick me up and stumbled upon this establishment on Yelp. It was just a 20 minute walk and since we needed to get our steps in any way, we decided to trek towards California Kahve. Located next to the carousel, we found the line easily since there were an abundance of people waiting. The line went by fairly quickly and we were able to get our drinks in a timely matter. Dark chocolate orange mocha (5/5)- mocha was smooth and I loved the fresh orange peel shavings that brightened up the mocha. Delicious! Tumeric latte (4/5)- I loved the spices and how flavorful the latte was. The only gripe I have would be that the drink itself was a tad bit too sweet. Other than that, this was great. The sandwiches and quiches look great here too but I will be needing to come back to try those other items.
I was literally standing in line at 4:56 PM waiting to order when a staff member abruptly closed the window. The cashier never mentioned that they were taking their last order, and there was no communication to the customers who had been waiting in line. I completely understand that employees want to leave at the end of the day, but it's still important to treat customers with basic respect and communicate clearly. If the cafe is about to close or taking the last order, staff should politely inform the people who are already waiting instead of just shutting the window. This felt very unprofessional. Businesses should either honor their posted closing times or at the very least let customers know when the final order will be taken so people aren't left standing in line for nothing
Very nice kiosk at Golden gate park next to the carousel..sells sandwiches, cafe pastries, and fun cafe drinks like dark chocolate orange mocha ...matcha etc ..nice sunny weather and fun place to be at the park

First found it out on Blackbird, i have only been trying drinks, nice and rich matcha btw! Had tomato mozzarella sandwich today and it is a killer! Baguette sandwich 5/5 Matcha 4.5/5 Ambience 5/5
My best friend lives in Berkeley and has a three(nager) IYKYK. We decided to meet up here for a play date. The adults can enjoy caffeinated beverages and the kiddo can play at Koret Children's playground. What we didn't anticipate was how much she would LOVE the carousel and that she would want to ride it again and again and again. The sweet owner of the California Kahve also manages and runs the carousel. So here's a new drinking game for the adults. You need to purchase a new beverage for each round the kids do on the carousel. Hands down my favorite matcha in the city and it's not even close.
Such a cute cafe in Golden Gate Park! I stopped by early on a Wed morning and while there weren't many people around this area near the carousel and playground, I spotted this adorable cafe and ended up getting a wildflower honey oat latte which was the perfect morning pick-me-up that I needed on a cold day. The honey was a nice sweet compliment to the espresso and the drink was really smooth. I asked about a couple of pastries and there was a piece of chocolate banana bread that was broken and the barista offered to let me have it for a sample. It was pretty much the entire slice and absolutely delicious. So decadent and perfect with the latte. Such friendly service! I'll have to come back to this part of GGP just to stop at this coffee stand again.
So I was feeling hangry and I needed food - quickly. Lucky for me, California Kahve was just an 8 min walk away. This shop is so misleading because tell me why a cute LITTLE coffee stand, has such HUGE croissants. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I was just pleasantly shook. I got the almond croissant and in the photo you can see only 1/3 of it is sticking out of the bag and it's already massive. There's not too much filling in there, but honestly that's fine because it'll keep me from getting diabetes. I would like to note that the croissants do not get warmed up when you order them, but it's still pretty good and understandable considering how long the line was. Their coffee was my favorite! I got the wildflower honey latte and it was absolutely delicious. Would come back again just for that!
Great stop at ggp for a refreshing bevy! Drinks come out fast despite the sometimes long line. Love that they have a selection of non-caffeinated drinks as well as fun flavors of matcha drinks. - elderflower spritz: seasonal menu item, was refreshing and light. The housemade elderflower syrup is delicious
A solid spot to cater to families visiting Golden Gate Park: the customer service here is great with folks ready to fix your needs and serve a large population Tuesday through Sunday of the week. Located at the epicenter of carousel, the field and kiddie park, so it's lively and nice. They are here to get your fix mostly, I got the chili spiced mocha and with all aspects considered, it was fine. The shot of espresso didn't come through and was left on the spectrum of flavored milk with a hint of coffee. Uniquely curated but I still feel like there is place to perfect these drinks. I will still come back for the matcha and yummy sandwiches due to there still being more to yearn for just when I'm on walks. If you're around the area exploring anyways, it's there for your coffee needs!

This amazing coffee shop is conveniently located next to the carousel in the heart of Koret park. We love their chili spiced mocha and strawberry matcha, velvety smooth and just the right amount of sweetness. The mocha has a really nice spice kick. You will find a long line on most days but it moves fast. Note that there's no indoor seating but you probably won't need it anyway since you are in the gorgeous Golden Gate Park. They also sell tickets to the carousel next door. I don't know if our park visits would be the same without this cafe - they also have some food options for kiddos which is so convenient. read more

Such a cool cafe nestled inside the GGP! Beautiful way to enjoy the warm weather. They have a few tables outdoor but we grabbed our food and had a picnic at Robin Meadows. Salami sandwich and bacon quiche were both delicious. My friend also enjoyed their apple, brie, and fig jam sandwich as well. They have an indoor carousel next door and their tickets are very affordable with adult tickets at just $2.50! read more
Our daughter worked up a thirst from playing at Koret Playground Quarter, so we headed to California Kahve to explore our options. Connected to the playground, right outside the carousel, is their cart serving an array of hot and iced beverages, sandwiches and quiche, baked goods and parfait (wildflower lavender honey and homemade granola), and tickets for the carousel (purchased at the pickup window). The prices are reasonable with the exception of the latte, ingredient quality was exceptional and the wait times for pickup and ordering were minimal. The maple latte with cardamom rose came in a one and a half inch cup to my surprise. The flavor profile and craftsmanship were perfection, but at $7 my expectation for portion size was 8oz. The cup appeared child size at 4 oz as our daughter's butterfly lemonade( ($5) arrived in a 6-8 oz portion. My husband said his turkey sandwich ($14) was 8/10 leaving him thoroughly satisfied and fulfilled. Our daughter's chocolate chip cookie ($5) was large, chewy, moist and filled with lots of chocolate chips. Both sides of service were friendly, patient and presented smiles. We would definitely return again when back in the area for our daughter's play. read more

Fabulous service, line looks long but moves fast, great croissants, like really really good, and my top three drinks in order are the Dulce de Leche, Orange Mocha and Chili. Great seating by the carousel (mid day and afternoon shade) or closer to the cafe if you're working on that San Fran "tan". read more

What an outstanding little space in a beautiful park!! We were nearing hangry levels on our aimless morning wandering and this place saved us! Expecting some average food- we were truly EXCITED about the food and drink options!! Got the turkey havarti baguette TOASTED to perfection! and the chocolate orange mocha- beautifully balanced in light sweetness and rich chocolate. To top it off- lovely service, beautiful plants, great ambiance. This place was such a highlight of our walk! read more

Stumbled across this place while wondering in the park. We got the bacon quiche, ham and cheese croissant, and ice mocha. They warmed up the quiche and croissant and it was perfect for the cloudy morning. The people behind the counter were very kind and attentive. They also sell tickets for the carousel in the same spot, so the line can look longer than it actually is. Perfect little space to enjoy a lite morning treat and drink! read more
Delightful little coffee outpost in the heart of Golden Gate Park, perfect for grabbing a quick caffeine fix or little bite to fuel your walk, recover from a park run, or relax between rides on the carousel. There's ample outdoor seating if you want to take a beat, but everything is served to go by default. The staff is super friendly and cheery, and they offer a pretty wide selection of espresso drinks, matcha, and various decaffeinated herbal teas. I got a hot almond milk latte, and it was lovely; it was a smidge milkier than I'm used to, but it was the exact pick-me-up I was looking for on my morning walk. I also got a chocolate croissant, which was tasty, but quite doughy (and not really worth the price). I did love that they offered to warm the croissant up, though! read more

We had a family fun filled day in SF. We stopped at Mary B. Connolly Children's playground and of course we had to go on the carousel with our toddler. Buying tickets were easy you just go to California Kahve and please grab yourself a treat! We got the Salami, Pesto, and Red Pepper sandwhich. It was very flavorful and yummy! It was a bit dry but I still recommend it. They have a lot of other items we will try when we come back. Service was fast and friendly. It was a great touch to our day! read more

Found this cute coffee stand before heading to California academia of science. The staff were so nice when asking for recommendations. I really enjoyed my ice wild flower honey latte. The fig jam baguette was so good!! Definitely will come back read more

Delicious coffee and baked goods. You can also purchase carousel tickets here. A great place for tired parents and excited kids. Cafe is next to carousel and Koret playground. Parking near this area is ample but gets full after 11am on weekends. Be patient as line to cafe is for both the food and carousel. Buy a few tickets as kids tend to want to ride the carousel more than once and to avoid standing in line at cafe to purchase tickets multiple times. read more
