Drew has been such an amazing cat caregiver for my crew of fuzzballs for the past several years…read morethat I've decided I can never move out of the area. If you're looking for someone with a genuine love of and connection to cats, who is very experienced with cat behavior and health issues, and who is supremely trustworthy and reliable - look no further than Drew. Before I met Drew I spent so much time on Yelp contacting other pet sitters in the area and they all seemed like they were mostly dog-oriented and just tolerated cats and would be only dropping by to make sure my cats were alive. Then I contacted Drew and I knew right away she was special - she actually adores cats and her primary concern is getting to know your cats' individual needs and quirks and providing the best comprehensive care possible while putting your mind at ease with daily checks-ins and photos. (She also owns a photography business and you can hire her for an epic pet photo session!) Drew regularly takes care of my guys, whether I'm busy for one day or away for a longer trip. Under anyone else's care, I'd worry about their individual dietary and behavioral needs - I have a picky older cat with anxiety and urinary issues, a goofy black cat with a sensitive tummy and a history of eating inedible objects and getting the occasional ear infection, and a young, spunky one-eyed cat who once had an injured leg. Not only has Drew gotten to know each of their personalities and connected with them like they're her own pets (they greet her at the door), she has expertly attended to their occasional extra needs and has on multiple occasions taken the time to talk me through my concerns about their issues. In addition to being a cat owner herself, Drew has experience working at clinics and rescues and volunteers her time at a cat sanctuary so I thoroughly trust her input and consider her a valued care companion and part of our pet family. My cats (and I) absolutely adore Drew and there's just no better feeling when you're away than total peace of mind that your fur family is receiving the best possible care. 5 stars, 10/10. Thank you, Drew!

Before that, my husband and I worked different schedules so we never needed a dog walker. We both took about a year off after moving before heading back into full-time work. When we decided to go back to work and realized we would have the same schedule, we knew we had to find someone to walk our dog Mon-Fri. I called several people, asked a lot of questions and met a few of them. Lori was very patient with all my questions and our dog absolutely loved her. It was important to us to find the right person because our dog started having separation anxiety after our move. She was tearing up her crate, which made us very nervous to leave her. We felt like we were tied to the house all the time and even mounted a camera in the living room so we could check on her when we were out! (We've since retrained her to like her crate again.) Lori started walking our dog once a week and moved to 5 days once my husband and I were both working. During the first few weeks of my new job I continued to check our camera to see how our dog was doing while we were gone. And I have to admit that I did check a few times to see how long Lori was out with our dog. I feel weird about that now, but we didn't know Lori so well yet and she totally could have said she was walking our dog for 45 minutes and only go for 20, and we wouldn't have known. But she never cuts the time short. She always has our dog out for as long as she was scheduled for. Over the past year Lori has been a HUGE asset to our family. I don't believe she's ever cancelled a walk, so she is extremely reliable. She feeds our cats their lunch every day when she comes to take our dog out. When we go on vacation, she boards our dog and visits our cats. She even gave one of our cats medication when he needed it. Lori often sends heart-warming photos of our dog while she's out with her. She keeps our dog safe and comfortable by playing with her inside when the weather is extreme. And I know our dog adores Lori because when I'm home sick I get to see how excited she is when Lori arrives. We rely on Lori so much that I honestly don't know what we would do if we ever lost her. P.S. For those of you who haven't checked out her website yet and are wondering how much she charges... she's very affordable. We do $15 for 45 minutes. I've seen some walkers charge $25 for a 30 minute walk! We are by no means well off, so with how often Lori walks our dog, we really appreciate her fair prices!

"The better I get to know men, the more I find myself loving dogs." - Charles de Gaulle…read more After meeting my fair share on FarmersOnly.com, OurTime.com, and PositiveSingles.com, I decided to switch dating sites and look on Petfinder.com. There were a few cuties that I could see potentially growing into a serious relationship. So I sold myself as much as I could on their online form and waited anxiously for them to respond. 3 days wait is the general rule before calling right? I decided to take my little man with me to see if I had his approval before cheating on him with another lifelong commitment. The place was a bit out in the boonies and looks like someone turned their barn-home into a rescue shelter. But Kritter Kamp is a no-kill rescue place so it's worth the drive. The place is a bit overwhelming with tons of little guys yapping away inside the building. But I was just glad that they were kept INSIDE the building and not in outdoor kennels. I was surprised to see they offer boarding and grooming services as well. They have a grassy fenced off play-area where I was introduced to my list of potential suitors. My little man wasn't interested in being compatible with any of them and they seem to not care as well. He was more interested in sniffing the grass than sniffing their butts. After I exhausted my list of potentials without even coming close to a match, one of the KK staff said she noticed that I had a type- I like 'em hairy! She told me she'd bring out a new one they just recently rescued from the Sac shelter. Out comes "Cha-Cha", a white furball with mattes all over her feet. She was so friendly, coming up to me all wiggly-butt and waggy. And she loved my little man, following him around everywhere! I originally didn't want to swing that way and wanted males only, but she was such a sweetheart and it just felt right. The heart doesn't lie, ya'll. Turns out she had only been at Kritter Kamp for 2 days and they hadn't even gotten a chance to fully groom her yet or socialize her. She only trusted Betty. I could tell the KK staff really cares about animals by how they handled the dogs and how they grilled me with questions before allowing me to bring her home. But I was able to take her home the same day with a $200 adoption fee to cover for her shots and spay. She hadn't even gotten spayed yet, but the ladies at KK assured me they would call me to set up an appointment with SPCA to have her spayed. Sure enough, a few days later, I dropped her back at KK and they had her spayed and returned within a day with all the paperwork. And despite the many dogs at KK and how little time they had to make her all pretty and adoptable, she came home without fleas! Now that says a lot about the place. Two years later and then-Cha-Cha-but-now-Lola has proven to be one of the best life choices I've made. She fits so well with the family. So if you find that Match.com ain't matching so well, go adopt and you'll find a devoted partner who'll love you unconditionally. You save them, they save you. What a wonderful thing.
