A bit let down by this location. We have been fans of for the win since the beginning, and we're excited to see them open up in our neighborhood. The ambience here is seriously lacking, we were surprised to see nobody else in the store, but after trying the food, we understood why. Everything was rather dry and flavorless. Found this place online saying it's the best smash burger spot in LA so I had to try it. This location has some street parking nearby and inside is a simple casual burger spot. There's seating if you choose to eat there but I got my food to go. The staff were fine, not overly welcoming but not rude either. I ordered 2 double cheese burgers, a fry, and brussel sprouts. The food came out quickly. My boyfriend loved the burger, mine was okay. I felt it had too many burnt ends on mine but it is a smash burger so I know that can happen. The fries and brussel sprouts were good. I definitely recommend giving it a try if you haven't already. read more

I am currently on a burger trail, visiting LA's known burger locations. I have to say For The Win definitely surprised me. I ordered a single patty cheeseburger with fries. So my go-to smash burger is Hi-Ho in Santa Monica, and that's a tough act to follow. BUT, this new upstart popped up in almost walking distance so of course I had to demo it out. Upshot is the burgers are great and the fries are awesome. Pros: Great burger, killer fries. Cons: Uncomfortable space with awkward seating and harsh lighting (won't matter for takeout, sux for date night). Generic ketchup; just wrong. Can't get a cup of water, have to buy. No alcohol; bring your own? Burger comes with "secret sauce"; please, no (you can omit, this ain't Father's Office ). No desserts, but yes shakes. Brentwood Village parking. It's free in SM. Bottom line: Food is tops, ancillaries not so much. You decide, but it's def worth checking out. read more

Damn! I've been a Win Dow fan for years but this is my new favorite. My sister has been to the Van Nuys store and said it was very good. I ordered a single cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. Fries were dry and tasteless and don't come with the apparently incorrectly named Fry sauce. When did places start charging for sauce? I ordered a single cheesburger and it was definitely yummy. The girl at the register was very pleasant and brought my order out very quickly. My only complaint is the ambiance. As someone else noted, the place could definitely stand to be spruced up a bit. During my visit, one of the tables was left disgustingly dirty. It looked like a bunch of small children had recently sat there, as there was food all over the table and floor. However, the staff didn't seem to notice or care about cleaning it, despite the restaurant not being busy. (I was the only customer in there at the time.) That said, I'd come back for the food. Terrible. We had a great experience coming here for the first time, but today was awful. Especially DO NOT come here if that blonde foreign lady is working. She was very rude and refused to remake an order that was messed up. We are allergic to dairy and ordered with no cheese. After getting cheese on the burgers she made us order and pay again, then the second order came with cheese again. Now we are waiting on the third order that should hopefully have no cheese. This woman is not very accommodating, nor did she even seem to give a shit about the directions that clearly say NO CHEESE. We should not have to put in a third order at this damn place. This is just absolutely ridiculous. STAY AWAY from this place if you want any sort of modifications or accommodations to what you are ordering, even if you have an allergy or sensitivity. Check out Heavy Handed instead on Main St. in Santa Monica. They are far better than this place for smash burgers and the service is a whole lot more exceptional. read more

Think crazy elevated burger. The beef tallow fries are also a total hit. Service is top notch and they even have desert treats (but, tbh, snuck in some wine and had one of the best dinners in Culver I've had in awhile). Completely recommend and try to swing by. Here's the scoop on the parking:…read more Parking in the back lot is validated for 90mins before 5pm & 2hrs after 5pm. So you park, scan the QR code on the signs, & pay for EXACTLY 90 mins before 5pm or EXACTLY 2hrs after 5pm. It will ask for your license plate & cell number - it takes Apple pay. Don't close out the browser page, bc you'll need to enter in the parking validation. (Yes the total is a lot & yes you will be mad if you're used to what used to be easy & free parking. But just follow these instructions & have faith.) Once you get to your table, find the card next to the menus w/parking validation QR codes. Go back to the browser with the parking payment on your phone & scan the QR code that corresponds to the time of day you are there. It will automatically make your parking free, if you pre-paid for the correct amounts of time. I learned the hard way - do NOT pre-pay for anything besides 90mins before 5pm or 2hrs after 5pm bc the validation will NOT work & you will end up paying for the whole parking fee. Do this once & you'll remember from there on. And you can still park there for free. This location no longer serves alcohol - under new ownership, they didn't renew their license. But the food is still same, & the service is same, & once you get used to the parking validation, your parking will still be free. This is literally the only Counter I know of that is still around. I still love making my own burger on a huge salad!

A lot of my coworkers have said great things about it so I decided to give it a try today. It's located right on Santa Monica Blvd on a gas station property inside where you pay for gas. One end of it is the market and the other end is for the gas station. In between are rows of the refrigerators and aisles of snacks so it was really nice to have all those drink options. The lady behind the counter was also really polite and it was just a really quick and easy experience to get my lunch. The menu is really large and they specialize in sandwiches. My order was ready shortly after I placed the order and it really hit the spot. I would recommend, especially if you are in a hurry or looking for a good quick casual meal.

The combo of caramelized onion, heavy sauce and the sear of the patty is delicious. The fries were also very good and most of them were crispy.
