Love this spot so much. Total mom n pop setup it makes it all the much better. Don't quote me on this, but I'm fairly certain we're dealing with smash burgers with a japanese style bun. Think crazy elevated burger. The beef tallow fries are also a total hit. Service is top notch and they even have desert treats (but, tbh, snuck in some wine and had one of the best dinners in Culver I've had in awhile). Completely recommend and try to swing by. Check their insta for when they're doing a pop up!

So this place is located on the corner, so keep an eye out for a burger on a parking meter. It's a nice building with lots of open space. There is a garden sitting area on the side and a balcony sitting area upstairs. When you come in, it's like a pop up style order and cook. I think a family runs the place, mom, pop, and young daughter, so the service is really personal and polite. They have been open since August 2025. I'm surprised I haven't heard of the place since I'm always over in the Westside and looking for great places to eat. Either way, I found them today so, awesome! Now to the food, simple. They serve burgers, fries, and ice cream for dessert, if you want. I went for the double cheeseburger with fries. Both are cooked in the front out in the open so you can watch or go for a little walk about of the place. I chose to walk and take pics. It's a beautiful space with a scenic view upstairs and a cozy setting downstairs. Maybe I'm partial to wood and trees, but I liked it. I was upstairs enjoying the view when my food was delivered, it was so freaking good! I devoured both the fries and cheeseburger within 5-10 minutes for sure. I even added some of the fries to the burger as a throwback to my youth. lol. The meat is cooked just perfectly, not too greasy, not too dry. The fries are something else. For sure you can tell the oil is top tier. I'm a fry addict and I could have eaten an entire plate of just the fries alone. For sure, they need to add more of those to the plate. I already wrote about the burger, it was epic. I've only had one burger better and that was from a chef who worked in a Michelin star restaurant. That tells you something about the meat blend. I think I found my burger place. NOTE: you have to follow them on Instagram to get their hours. They aren't in this location everyday. The hours are posted on Instagram, so I'm going to mosey on over and follow them. I suggest you do the same and go get yourself a great burger. Oh, and don't think it's going to be really quick if there is a full house. There is only one person making burgers and one doing fries so be patient, relax, and enjoy the moment.

WOW WOW WOW!!! If you look at my Yelp reviews, I rarely give 5 stars. Especially to burger places because they never blow me away. This place blew me away. I saw it on Instagram as a new pop up smash burger place in Culver City and knew I had to try it when I saw they use Japanese milk buns! So I got a double cheeseburger with tallow fries and both were soooo good! The meat is thick and juicy and their "meet up sauce" has a bit of a kick to it and gave the burger so much flavor! They cook the onion in with the burger so the grilled onions and pickles also added great flavor. I can literally eat this burger everyday if I could. They're open on the weekends from 6-10pm but check their Instagram for dates and hours! This was their grand opening weekend, so I suggest you try it before it gets crazy crowded. Because there's ZERO smash burger places anywhere near the area that are this good. The inside had plenty of tables and chairs and outdoor seating too! The tables had a few board games as well and even a really nice rooftop area. Clean bathrooms as well! The staff was all so welcoming and great! Truly makes a business worth supporting when you see all the passion the staff has for their food! Easy free parking in the parking lot across the street.

Hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had. So simple with such a classic taste. It felt clean and tasted like it was made with love. From the perfectly toasted buns to the crispy edges and grilled onions, it was soooo good. I came on a Saturday & they have parking lot across the way. The place is really cool, it has pool tables and large TVs. The team and chef were so kind. Can't wait to come back.

Really good burger all fresh quality ingredients. Great customer service and the cooks are doing right for you. Great place to bring your family and friends to have a good time. Really good mineral waters from Japan and Japan burger buns will definitely come back and I do recommend this to anybody that wants a great burger.

Burger with the works and fries

Very good looking and tasty burger. The bun has a pleasant crunch while being soft and toasty. Meat and cheese make a wonderful blend with the jalapeño adding a slight kick without it being overpowering. Fries are excellent and worth the $5. The owners are personable and remembered me when I showed up after talking to them the week before. Lovely atmosphere on a Sunday watching NFL. Has a free pool table so it's ideal to hold gatherings with a large group, or your close friends. The burger is great. You can find good burgers all over LA, but the space and service is most inviting and that's what would encourage me to return.

You can really taste the difference with the fries being made with beef tallow instead of oil. The service was great and the place is very spacious and clean. Definitely one of my new favorite burger places in LA!

Delicious smash burger and super nice folks running this place. I have been twice in as many weeks and will keep coming back as long as they are there. The spot is cool too. Very unassuming you could easily miss it, but don't. Trust me.

    Smash burger

MMMMM!! Bomb burgers, great customer service, and a very nice & social atmosphere. They have large tables, a pool table, a sofa area, and cook their burgers outside. Parking is spacious as well. Stopped by with my mom, pero I guarantee I'll be back :p

These smash burgers are DELICIOUS! I got the double cheeseburger. The patty is perfectly cooked and sooo juicy. You can taste the quality! The sauce is amazing too! It's a perfect dip for the crispy beef tallow fries. I'm so glad I finally got to try this place, and will definitely be back!

    Best burger and fries!

I was instantly so glad we chose this spot to celebrate our anniversary because it was the perfect setting for a romantic date night. Now, let's talk about the food! Everything we ordered was delicious, with the exception of the Korean aguachiles, which we probably could've skipped. We also tried the bluefin bibimbap, oysters, and the oh-so-tender short rib that practically melted in our mouths. But the most unforgettable dish was also the simplest: the Korean fried chicken. It wasn't necessarily something out of the ordinary, but it sure tasted like it. The perfect crisp, flavor, and seasoning had us eating every last piece right down to the bone. Our server also made the experience even better. She gave us some of the best recommendations and were incredibly attentive and friendly throughout the entire meal. I think I ended up paying $12 and added tip on top of that. The restaurant itself is cozy. Everyone was dressed up~ so I'd say this place is a little more dressy than casual. The menu isn't too expensive, which is kind of nice. The korean aguachile was yummy and reminiscent of dongchimigooksu type of broth. The crispy kimchi pancake was divided into six parts and topped with some greens with a side of dipping sauce. This was yummy, but if you've had Korean pancake before this is pretty standard. The creamy chicken broth and fresh noodle was also a nice little soup to share. I don't recall anything, particularly stand out about this dish though. Stir fried hen of the woods mushroom: this is a nonspicy ddukbokki with mushroom. It was a good dish for the vegetarian minded friend at the table. :) Finally, I thought the short rib was the best dish we had that evening. It was nicely cooked and seasoned, and incredibly tender to eat. Service was attentive, and everyone was very kind. Overall, a very pleasant experience and would come again.

I was so excited for…read moretwo of my favorite cuisines to come together in an intimate dance between the vibrant flavors of Mexico and the deeply complex taste of Japanese food. Here are some improvements that could be made: 1. I have no problem paying for a quality meal, but the prices were slightly off from what seemed adequate. 7 dollars for chips and salsa but 18 dollars for 4 yellowtail handrolls is just one of a few examples of an interesting price discrepancy. I will say the yellowtail handrolls were delicious! 2. Flavors and dishes on the menu were slightly misleading. We ordered the Osaka burrito but got a deep fried chimichanga, it was a little heavier than what was expected from the panko encrusted description (just put Osaka chimichanga). The tomatoes in the slaw were saved by their mango friends which balanced out the flavors enough to eat the entire dish. The abundance of salt in the tomatoes drew out too much moisture causing some unwanted sliminess, and made them so sad I felt obligated to sign them up for therapy. 3. The cauliflower dish is such a great idea, but the flavor of the cauliflower overpowered all of the other components of the dish. If the cauliflower were fried as much as the burrito was with a healthy amount of achiote seasoning, and the 4-6 pomegranate arils were actually a robust pomegranate sauce drizzled around the dish, it would be a 10/10 veggie plate. I will say on a positive note, the service was great, and the waiters were so nice when we were disappointed with the food. They took back our dish with no hesitation and took it off the bill no problem. If you are out on Sawtelle, looking for a good vibe, and don't mind opening up your mind to some new flavors, then Hermanito is a great option.
