Price is no object in my quest to stay cool. Bought a townhouse near the ocean and replaced all the windows with double pane low-E glass which keeps out heat in the summer. When I bought my car it had no tint and I got hot when the sun shined on me through the windows. I put very light Greystone CR 70 grade tint on the front 2 windows and I only got warm when the sun hit me. The back 3 windows had Greystone CR 40 grade tint which was limo dark and sitting back there you could barely feel the sun. The problem with my Civic is the front windshield is huge and sloped so a ton of sunlight hits the dashboard and me so often I got hot from sunlight coming through the windshield. Last year I was driving to Palm Springs alot and was getting really hot even with the AC set to maximum. I did research on the net and found out 3M had released a Crystalline series of window tint which had the highest heat rejection rating I had ever seen. Cut to now: It's summer. I'm getting hot driving around. I call SD Motorsports and they squeeze me in at the last minute for a early morning appointment. 2 hours and $350 later my front windshield is tinted with 3M Crystalline CR 70 grade tint. They did an excellent job on the install. Looking through the windshield is much like looking through the front side windows. The heat rejection is about the same as sitting in the backseat behind the Greystone CR 40 limo grade tint. To summarize: 3M Crystalline tint is expensive and does an excellent job keeping me and my car cool. SD Motorsports provided excellent customer service and did a great job tinting my windshield.

I brought in my Honda Ridgeline for an issue with my AC. Jason worked with me at the front-desk and went above and beyond to understand my issue and the troubleshooting I had already done. He explained to me CONCISELY what the feasible issue may be, and how they were going to approach a diagnosis. Jason was extremely knowledgeable, and followed up promptly to discuss the fix. Pedro was also exceptional. He found the issue (rodent-chewed wires) and repaired it perfectly. When I picked up my car, he was as excited as I was to have helped me. Before Miramar Auto, I took my truck to the Honda dealer, and they charged twice as much for a diagnosis, only to tell me that I would need a new compressor (incorrect diagnosis) and that it would cost twice as much as I ended up paying out the door at Miramar auto. My 2018 Model 3 had held up nicely over the years, but I noticed several scratches and paint chips that could have been avoidable with the proper protection. I had no knowledge or experience with PPF or ceramic coating, so I began researching. My research advised that XPEL was the best brand; however, the most important factor was choosing a quality installer! "A mediocre installer putting XPEL on your Tesla can produce a worse result than an exceptional installer putting STEK or LLumar on it."After looking over Yelp reviews, I reached out to four of the "best" PPF installers in San Diego. Wasim of SunDiego Auto Spa responded within one hour. The others responded 4-5 days later. Wasim quickly provided quotes for full PPF, ceramic coating, and window tinting. I had to wait nearly a week to get competitive quotes from the other PPF installers, which pushed my project further out than I wanted. He was extremely responsive via both phone and email regarding my questions and helping me choose the best products for my needs. Workmanship was exceptional, and any small imperfections such as sharp corners not properly sticking or small bubbles were addressed by Wasim personally. No one has been able to tell I have PPF with the naked eye unless I specifically tell them which tells you how great the installation was. I have taken my Land Cruiser offroading a about a dozen times now and the PPF has fully protected my paint, preventing pinstriping from branches and bushes normally found on most trails. My friend that always goes with me has a Toyota Tacoma and his paint has gotten quite a few battle scars, where as my Land Cruiser is completely scratch free! The window protection film has saved my glass a handful of times already too. Going on past a year, the film still looks 90% as good as the first day it was installed. Highly recommend, especially if your vehicle have a very vertical windshield like on a typical SUV or truck. I had a situation where my garage door closed onto my open hatch, but the PPF took the damage and completely protected my paint from scratches. That would have easily taken the paint down to the base coat or even bare metal since it was a sharp metal bolt head that had run down against the hatch. I immediately found Torrey pines collision center through Tesla insurance. They are very responsive on the phone which is very helpful. They are a Tesla approved body shop and with the previous reviews regarding Tesla fixes, I felt good about having them fix my Tesla. There was a bit of confusion between them and Tesla insurance which was a bit annoying regarding the scheduling the drop off of my car and when the claim estimate would have been approved. I would have been renting a car while my car would have just sat at their shop until the estimates were approved which is wasteful in terms of the number of days Tesla insurance covers a rental car. Not blaming this on the collision center but there does need to be some sort of better communication between Tesla insurance and Tesla approved shops in general. After a month of them working on the car they did an absolutely fantastic job to the point I can't tell the accident ever happened (also pictured). I'm thankful for their service and care to detail. An additional pro that i haven't experienced at other body shops was the convenience of dropping off the rental car at the shop and they coordinate with the rental car service for return. Only other recommendations for improved customer service would be call backs on providing updates on the repairs. I'm guessing so many customers call them they anticipate they'll update people then but an email, text, or phone call on the status would be very nice! I am thankful for their hard work.

Last Christmas, my family gifted me cash for me to purchase a dash cam with installation labor for…read moremy car. If you haven't tried using Yelp to acquire quotes from businesses such as dash cam and installation retailers, it's pretty convenient and many service type businesses will reach out to you. After sending an inquiry about purchasing and installation of a dash cam, one of the first businesses that reached out to me was DV Audio and Customs. Besides DV Audio, several other businesses contacted me and I immediately decided on DV Audio because of the professionalism and thoroughness of Dennis and Paola. They answered several questions I posed to them and although I probably could have shopped around for a better deal, I decided to have DV Audio take care of my dash cam need solely based on the professionalism and customer service, but besides those much clamored for qualities, I got even more once the job was completed. DV Audio is located in Escondido specifically within a small business park where other service type businesses are located. I don't remember if there were other tenants, but as soon as you turn into Wineridge, you'll turn right into the first driveway and you'll see the DV Audio signage. The exact address for DV Audio is 2080 Wineridge Suite D. The shop can be found by taking 15 North or 15 South exiting off of Valley Parkway and heading west. There are two parts of Escondido where car dealers are located, which is the east side and west side of Escondido. DV Audio is located close to the west side of car dealers. I received great customer service from Paola from start to finish for my dash cam project. Prior to setting up an appointment with DV Audio to have them install a dash cam, I stopped by their shop to ask them questions. The primary thing I wanted to ask them was whether they price match because at the time, Amazon Prime Days were going on. My intent was to buy a dash cam on Amazon and then have DV Audio install it. When I asked about price matching, Paola informed me that they do price match on a specific Red Tiger dash cam, but not on the higher end Red Tiger dash cam. She also informed me that it would be better if I purchased the dash cam from her because then it would be under warranty, which was great information to have. Another reason to have work done by DV Audio is that their business is military veteran friendly and they do military discounts for Army Veterans like me. If you pay cash for the work they do, there is a cash discount and who doesn't like savings. Besides all of these positives, they are also efficient and respect people's time. I dropped off my car at my appointment time of 9:30am and I was notified that they were done at 10:44am. When their technician was installing my dash cam, they found rust build up on the inside side wall of my dash, which I would have never found if not for their technician letting me know. This information was invaluable because I'm going to have the car dealer check it out. Lastly, Paolo provided more quality customer service after the work was completed by spending time with me going over the features of the dash cam. If you're ever in the market for a dash cam and installation of that dash cam, before you purchase, I highly recommend you contact or visit DV Audio and Customs to purchase the dash cam and have them do the installation. Customer service, expediency, and thoroughness from start to finish is why they should be the only shop you visit for dash cam service. I also noticed vintage cars in their shop, so if you own vintage cars, you might want to check what type of service they do for vintage cars.

I yelped quite a few places, but Road Wear Mobile Auto Body had simply fantastic reviews and before/after pictures that indicated that this was a place that truly knew auto body repair. I placed a call to Morgan, he asked me to send him some pics of the damage, and immediately got back to me with a quote - a number that was 1/5 the amount that the local body shop wanted. I was also able to schedule him to come over just two days later. He got here, set up, and got to work on the damage. It took about two hours, with an end result that there is NO sign of any damage at all. Perfectly color matched with clear coat on top. Simply stunning work. Highly recommended - while I hope I never see Morgan again for business, if I do need another touch up, there's no doubt he'll be first on the list to call.
