Old regular contractor: Took over 5 months, charged for discovery work, hired an architect to draw up a plan, plan took over a month to approve, with extra work and materials. Quoted 58k plus 3k drawing. Proposed work was to lift up flooring from inside, which will cause operating business to stop for weeks. Disengaged halfway, and called Sunshine. Sunshine Foundation: Soloman came out and assessed immediately and knew what needed to be done. 38k for same scope WITH drawing. Saved 20K. Instead of new drawing, they proposed using the City's Template Plan. Got approval in ONE WEEK!, whole work took 3 weeks. Use less materials. And no interruption to business! Instead of destroying floors, they dug under the building and removed tons of dirts onto a low-boy. Ron the owner was very honest in setting expectation and deliveries. My 100 year old home in mid-Wilshire has stucco cracks. Before repairing the stucco and repainting the house, I thought it wise to have my foundation inspected. I made an appointment for a free inspection with Sunshine Foundation, and Solomon arrived exactly on time. He did a thorough exterior walk-around, then spent 15-20 minutes crawling under the house and took photos and videos. His report: my foundation looks good, no need to repair anything! I had an earthquake retrofit done years ago, and Solomon said the job was well done, and nothing had shifted. The exterior stucco cracks are superficial, not an indication of serious foundation problems. He took 71 photos and videos, and Air Dropped them to my iPhone. Another company gave me an $11,000 bid to improve the quake retrofit, but Solomon laughed off that bid and said the older retrofit had been done properly. Solomon saved me $11,000.
