In the decades that I have dealt with plumbers in many different cities/states, I have never had such a wonderful experience as I had with the office and field staff of Sunshine. I bought a new condo a few months ago and noticed a backup in the kitchen sink/disposal after a couple of months in the place. After dumping 3 bottles of Liquid Plumr down the drains with no result, I started researching plumbers in my new town. I called Sunshine because they got good reviews on several sites. I was shocked at how pleasant the dispatching staff was, and how well the person understood my problem. She gave me an appointment date and 3-hour arrival window. The day of the appointment, I received an email introducing my plumber -- showing his picture and a little bio. The plumber was really friendly and totally professional, he fixed the problem (which turned out to be a pretty big deal), and he explained what he was doing along the way -- and how much it would probably cost. I was completely comfortable with every step in the process, and Sunshine has my business for life. You can buy a membership in the Sunshine Club, which entitles you to discounts on all the work, a plumbing inspection and an HVAC inspection once a year, and priority appointments. They also waive the $59 service fee (which is waived anyway if you have work done by the technician who comes out). I thought it was a good deal, so I bought it. I purchased a one year "Sunshine Club" contract which includes one plumbing and one HVAC inspection for $204.00. I made an appointment for the heating to be inspected on November 13, and took the day off work to receive them. About 45 minutes before the appointment, they called me to tell me they wouldn't be able to make it because they were too busy with other calls. They wanted to rebook two weeks out, and I didn't want to wait that long - waiting for my appt on Nov 13 was late enough in the season. Not to mention that I can't keep taking days off of work to wait for a service that doesn't happen. I was willing to do an evening or a Saturday appointment, but they were inflexible on that. I asked them to refund my $204 contract and cancel it and was told that the owner had to approve that but she wasn't in. They assured me she would call me back when she returned from vacation. Two weeks later, I called and spoke with Travis who told me they couldn't refund my money without the owner's approval and she wasn't in. Travis assured me he would talk to her and call me back shortly. He never did. I sent an email on December 7, 2015 asking them to respond to me regarding refunding my $204 by the end of business on Dec 8, 2015 and I didn't hear from them. My only recourse was to file this official complaint with the BBB, which proved effective. This company won't call you back if they don't feel like it. Very disappointing. read more

Sunshine Plumbing Heating Air ROCKS! The hottest day of the month, our air conditioner decides to stop working. Hubby thinks he can fix it (bless his heart) so I give him a couple days to get 'er done. After what I considered to be a sufficiently respectful amount of time, I suggest we try a professional. I emailed Sunshine and although they were swamped with appointments, they were able to squeeze us in. I chose Sunshine because of their reputation in the community. I knew that regardless of what was wrong, I would get an honest and ethical diagnosis and they would be fair in their pricing. Dimitri showed up right on time and was very polite - even put shoe booties on when entering the house! He got right to work investigating the problem. After determining it was not an electrical issue (yay!) he was able to diagnose the problem with the AC and the furnace. A bare wire outside had caused a short and blew a transformer in the system. Lo and behold, he had the exact part we needed in his truck so he could fix it right away! He was very knowledgeable and explained a lot about our system and ways we could improve our energy efficiency. I am so impressed with this company and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of their services. One very happy customer here! Well, two actually ... We are very, very grateful and totally impressed with Sunshine Plumbing - and especially MIKE RAINES. We called after a home inspection had been critical about our plumbing that had been working well for 8 years. This was very disconcerting for us. Mike came on time, professionally and calmly looked over the issues the inspector wanted reviewed and went to work to give us his professional assessment. We knew we ran the risk that he could see this as an opportunity to get a high priced job going, but he came back to us with an honest assessment assuring us that all was fine saving one joint he would like to change for precautionary purposes. He also took time to sit down with us and explain everything and assailed the doubts created by an over anxious inspector. He returned promptly on time the next day to change out the plumbing joint. So busy here praising Mike, guess it also says something about the company as well when they hire and manage such a great team of professional plumbers! Sunshine's management was proficient and kept us informed each step of the way on who they were sending out, the time frame, and followed up with a prompt estimate. This couldn't have been a better experience and as I initally said, we are appreciative to find such a quality business right here in Commerce City close to our Reunion neighborhood. read more

I have used Sunshine for years and am a member. But my experience yesterday changed my relationship with them. I had a leak in my kitchen sink that I suspected was the garbage disposal. So in advance of Sunshine sending someone out yesterday I had bought a new disposal and installation kit at Home Depot. When the tech arrived he confirmed that the leak was from the disposal and would install my system -- it would take about an hour. The estimate: get ready. ONE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN DOLLARS. "Because of inflation." For one hour of labor and no parts (I had to tell him I"m a member and the visit fee is waived -- they should have this on file!). I literally almost passed out. I don't have friends who can do this kind of work and I felt a little trapped by my choices. He says, "hold on let me go make a phone call and see what I can do." He comes back a few minutes later and suddenly the cost is down to $462 (how did that happen???). Which is still exorbitant but is so much less than the $1115 that I paid it. I am still sick to my stomach about how this all went down. I don't feel like I was given any favors -- I feel like I got scammed. He could show me no line item detail to show me what exactly I was paying for -- it was just one line. $462. For an hour and no parts. Never again. read more

No issues with new boiler installation in '15 - system worked as designed and we are very happy with it. It was installed by Willian Frew. The problem is with follow up. The overflow pipe developed leak which resulted in puddle on the floor beneath the boiler. This might be a faulty expansion tank and/or pressure relief valve. Replacing both is a routine, relatively simple and inexpensive job. When I called to have it looked at, I was told 1) there would be a minimum $125 service change. This is more than double the cost of the parts, 2) William is their only plumber who works on boilers, 3) he would not be available for 4-5 days, and 4) sorry, your system is out of warranty - too bad! I called other plumbers and they had qualified technicians available the same day. I've checked Sunshine's annual boiler checkup price and found it to be nearly double that of other companies in the area. All of this is unfortunate since I had held Sunshine in high regard after our successful initial boiler installation, but now I'll be taking my business to other companies that value loyalty and customer service. You will see other poor reviews of Sunshine on-line and I suggest you take them seriously. They want your initial business but won't help you with maintenance or repairs. read more

I first retained William Frew and Sunshine to install a new condensing boiler in conjunction with a thermal solar system at a second home in Vail. The project was a big success as not only did it come in on budget and on time but we were able to see energy savings almost immediately by having an ability to run the hot water system in standby mode when the house was vacant. In fact I was so intrigued with the design that when it was time to replace a 30 year boiler in our house back in Denver I asked William if he would quote a similar, but larger system. Having had the experience over 5 years of a reliable and well serviced system gave me confidence that the Company was the right place to go. I interviewed several HVAC/plumbing outfits with good reputations in Denver and found that they were not generally interested in converting their business to the use of condensing boilers which are used extensively throughout Europe as they are more efficient. Since my installation in Denver, Sunshine has relocated to Denver and I can see they are on a successful growth curve of the business. I have been very happy with the service of the Company but also with the integrity of the management. read more

We were having some air conditioning problems and thought we might need service on our air conditioner. We'd heard great things about Sunshine so called them. The first thing that impressed me was that they scheduled an actual TIME that they would come out, rather than a RANGE...so I didn't have to stay home waiting from 2-5pm...rather, they showed up at our scheduled time of 3pm. That was fabulous! William, the owner, came and not only fixed our issues, but did a thorough inspection on the plumbing, heating, and cooling in our entire house. He made recommendations, but didn't make us feel pressured to do them right away. He prioritized the recommendations and gave us exact prices for each item. His work was excellent, prices were fair, and the experience was great. They even sent us a thank you card and brownies about 2 weeks after they were here. My kids are anxiously awaiting a toilet to break...they now associate the plumber with treats!:) This was the best customer service experience I've had in SUCH a long time! I don't know where to start. Right after I made the appt., I was emailed information about the "team" at Sunshine and then got an email about the tec who would be helping me, his picture and background information about him. Who does that? Everything possible was done to make me feel comfortable and confident. My tec, Rocky, was very friendly and listened patiently as I described my plumbing problem. He assessed the situation very thoroughly and explained what would be the appropriate fix. He also was upfront about pricing and about how long it would take. I kept throwing questions at him wondering if I should do more. He assured me that I was "good to go". I ended up spending way less money than I thought. I will not hesitate to call Sunshine again and will recommended them to friends and family. So wonderful to do business with such an upfront team/tec. There was no pressure to do more etc. He just came to fix what needed to be fixed to the absolute best of his ability. I found Sunshine by cross-referencing Yelp reviews with Angie's List when I needed to have a new AC installed. Lucas came out to give us a quote and was very easygoing while we tracked down the builder to ensure the hookup that they needed was available. The quote was very competitive so we scheduled the work. Kermit came out to do our install and William, the owner, also came out midday to help. The guys had to move a small bush to make space for the unit. I certainly appreciated that extra effort. After the install, the system made a knocking noise which could get quite loud. I even sprang out of bed at 3:30am thinking there was an intruder- and it was the system. The owner came back out and fixed the noise (the metal door to the furnace wasn't secure and was knocking when the air moved through it) and cleaned our furnace for the inconvenience. Based upon my overall experience (price, service, and how they handled a problem) I highly recommend and would use Sunshine again. read more

Discovered a leaky outdoor faucet causing water to seep into the house and behind the drywall. Called Sunshine based on Yelp reviews alone. Was able to get in next day no problem. Had a 2 hour window and Rocky (the tech) called to show up early. He hit the ground running, informed me that the job was going to be more difficult than a regular job; had to cut into some drywall and 2x4s to access the old bib. Viola, we found the source of the leak. Turned out the old bib was most likely a hack repair by a DIYer who tried to cover up a pin hole...obviously had no clue what he/she was doing. Shit, it must have been slowly leaking behind the walls for at least 2 years because thats how long I've been living in the house. So you can imagine what we found next...yep, black mold. Now I gotta call the other guys. Anyway, Rocky was very professional, and given the situation was very efficient in time. Kept me informed throughout the job. This was the second time that we have used Sunshine Plumbing (both times it was to repair boiler components that were installed by a previous company), and we will continue to go back to them for years to come. They are honest, upfront in their pricing (while also attempting to reduce the price of the service every step of the way), and exhibit the time and patience to do the job right the first time. From the first moment you call, their scheduler/receptionist Susan is great at understanding your problem and finding the fastest way to get someone out to service you. As for William, he is nothing short of amazing! From his prompt service response time, to his clear and concise communication of everything he is doing every step of the way, we couldn't ask for a better person to help us with our heating. Jared and Sufian are outstanding professionals. The entire experience with Sunshine was amazing, from the first call to the completion of our finished project. We purchased a new home and it came with a piece of junk Carrier furnace from a sub par contractor. The builder also tried to sell us another piece of junk, one size fits all air conditioner to go with it and I am so glad that we shopped around. We ended up with the TOP of the line Lennox furnace, AC and a filter that is designed to help my husband with his asthma and allergies. They explained everything, kept our home neat and tidy and we extremely pleasant to have in our home. The thermostat looks a little like Star Trek, and we can see what's going on with it on our our smart phones. This should prove to save us lots of $$ when we are not home as we can crank it up on our way, or set it to a schedule. I would not hesitate to call Sunshine again, the are the BEST!! read more

I finally found a plumbing company that I call back again! It's never a good thing if you need to call a plumber but when you do it makes all the difference if there's a company that you can trust to do the job right! My experience with Sunshine Plumbing Heating Air LLC was great from start to finish. First, the ladies whom I called to schedule the appointment were smiling on the phone and were quick to set up and appointment. Second, our plumber Rocky gave me a courtesy call to tell me he was on his way and showed up on time with a delightful attitude. He quickly diagnosed our leaky sink faucet, took pictures, and gave an estimate and scheduled a time later that day to come back and repair the leak after I bought a new faucet. After calling a popular Denver company first (I'll abbreviate as PL) and experiencing awful customer service (wanted to charge $59 to quote my job, which they waived after I said no thanks) I also called sunshine and they came out right away and quoted the job for free. My technician Jared was helpful and friendly and quoted me $1000 less than PS to run new AC condenser lines between my furnace and AC unit. He even drilled two extra 4" holes through my very tough exterior brick and wouldn't take any extra money for it. Would give 6 stars if possible. They also sent a greeting card as follow up offering discounts on future services with the owners head through a fake toilet. Love a company that doesn't take themselves too seriously. Would happily use them again and refer friends if asked. You won't be disappointed! read more

We discovered a leak in our basement that ended up flooding a whole section. The carpet was beyond soaked and we knew we had an issue that had to be addressed immediately. By nature, I do a lot of research and truly vet a company before wanting to do business with them. We reached out to Sunshine after reading numerous reviews. A technician came out, Casey, and he was excellent to work with. Not only is he knowledgeable and experienced in what he does, but he is also very professional and polite. He took the time to thoroughly answer all of my questions and didn't once make me feel rushed. Our experience with Sunshine has been nothing but top notch. A very complicated and detailed project to install a unit in a 53' semi trailer. The people at Sunshine made sure that every detail was covered. Installation was perfect, and the follow up calls I received from William and team were well timed.They knew how important this was to me and the specific timing of the entire project and kept every promise. I needed a couple of follow up details for the project and they kept me informed and made sure we lost no customer time. Had service by the owner, William Frew in the past which was great. He replaced my furnace, water heater flush. I knew I wanted to have service from Sunshine again in the future. Fast forward, I needed service again on rental property, they sent out Jared who was great as well. Very knowledgeable, thorough. Honest and straightforward. Sunshine Plumbing, Heating & Air have completed two projects in my house now. First, a plumbing debacle resolved quickly and efficiently. Then, the most recent time they came out to diagnose and ultimately replace the furnace that stopped working. They are always friendly on the phone and the technicians are professional. Lorenzo and the other technician (so sorry I do not remember your name) did a great job with diagnosing the problem and explaining it to me. They then went above and beyond to make sure things were set up properly despite a very challenging environment and cold temperatures.
