There's air bubbles in my manicure from the tech either applying too much polish, or not letting the layers cure properly. Also, the edges of my nail and skin are not clean. I made a last minute appointment here and had two lovely ladies taking care of my nails. Kimchi shaped my nails just the way I wanted, while making sure I was comfortable and had an amazing attention to detail (switching the UV light to a left/ right angle to match my hand). That alone should tell you everything you need to know. Let me make it clear: I have nothing to gain by writing this. I came here expecting decent service and left completely disappointed. The salon smelled bad, the lighting was terrible, the tools didn't look clean, and my nails were left uneven and messy. When I mentioned the issue, no one cared. I didn't ask for anything free -- I just wanted what I paid for, and that clearly was too much to expect. top notch salon with superb service. came in here while traveling on business for a manicure/pedicure and it was quite the experience. pedicure massage chairs were really great. staff was VERY attentive and color was applied carefully without rushing. they have a great selection of colors and they have gel and regular polish for many of the shades which is a huge plus. i liked the options for the higher end manicures and pedicures. the massage and paraffin wax were super luxurious. definitely would recommend to others in the area and would come back again one day! read more

Came here because of the photos! Unfortunately, the reviews from a couple of years ago were still true! Walked in and said hello to be received by stares and no response...not even a Hello! After entering further and saying it 2 more times they finally acknowledged us (my best-friend and I). We had an appointment but were a few mins late due to parking. We were then seated and the two nail techs that we had were friendly. This was the quickest gel manicures either of us have EVER had in our lives but the quality was good! We felt as though they wanted to get us out ASAP! At the end, we both paid by request via Venmo, which they watched us do, but also made us show them that the payment was made which felt like they didn't trust that we would pay for our services rendered. Today (9/1), my daughter (Black) and her two friends (White) made three appointments for pedicures at 4 PM. They arrived at 3:50 PM and sat down, only to learn there were only two nail technicians available. My daughter (Black) offered to let her two friends (White) go before her. She's nice like that but not stupid. Two other people (appearing Middle Eastern) showed up at 4:20 PM with 4:30 PM appointments. The Lotus staff seated them right away and helped them, intentionally overlooking my daughter (Black). Additionally, my daughter and her friends were never offered water but offered to everyone else. First, my daughter and her friends were in town for the weekend. Next, my daughter is used to being treated much better by the Vietnamese nail salon she goes to regularly in Marina del Rey, California. Lastly, as a multi-degree, educator, I am 100% certain that my daughter's race played a role in the piss poor customer service my daughter and her friends received today. Maybe Lotus Nails and Spa should have a sign on their front door that reads, "Blacks are not REALLY welcome here." It is a good thing I was not in Palm Springs with my daughter and her friends because I would have shown up because my daughter would have called me, and all three of them would have received VIP treatments, or Lotus would have been a featured topic on the local evening news due to racially profiling and discriminating against my daughter. Hmmm...maybe I'll contact the local newspaper too. I'm sure Ricky N., the owner, would not want that kind of publicity. Shame on you and your racist practices, Lotus Nails and Spa. Updated: I called and spoke to the "manager" and they denied my daughter was overlooked and even had the nerve to say they have a child who is Black. No apology, just denial. The "manager" was very aggressive and immediately defensive on the phone and offered no remedies. That explains the terrible, in-person customer service my daughter and her friends received. I experienced it on the phone. The manager said I could see the cameras. To see what? My daughter not being offered water or getting the pedicure she had an appointment for? After waiting 30 minutes, not 10 minutes like the manager told me on the phone, my daughter was done with Lotus. And..she was NEVER offered water. The manager lied to me on the phone. The way she was treated is based on racist stereotypes. The manager's excuse to me on the phone was they were busy and would get to her in 1o minutes. Well, my daughter and her two White friends were not walk-ins. They all had 4 PM appointments. Yet the 4:30 clients were seen before my daughter who was not seen at all, OR offered water in the desert as the manager lied to me and said she was. read more

I'd give the manicure a 3 and my friend gave the pedicure a 4 so a 3.5 overall. Manicure - felt rushed as there were others waiting, but wish he'd taken a bit more time! My existing nail polish was taken off in a way that the color still stayed in the edges of a nail or two. Was also hoping to have more cuticle cleaning / moisturizing done as my hands have been dry.
