I got my nails done for $115 I am extremely pleased with the result and I would go back again. The area and the tools were a little dirty but it was not that bad. I wish they would have offered me a drink but that is not a big deal. My artist was Tony and if you want nail art done go to him. I am absolutely obsessed with my nails!

Wish I had gotten a picture of my toes but I matched with my nails. They were so quick and did so good at the same time. Tony did my nails and they lasted so long. I always break a nail but not this time. I also thought the prices were extremely reasonable. This is my new nail shop for sure

Recently visited Sunshine nails after my regular nail tech was on leave and I was in need of a retouch on my SNS dip nails. I really appreciated the ability to book my appointment online and choose a technician. It was my first time visiting the shop, so someone did call to confirm, however I was lucky enough to snag a same day appointment at 5:15. I arrived around 5:09 pm and the receptionist told me the wait would be about 10 minutes and to go wash my hands (I do appreciate requiring clients to wash their hands!). In reality, my technician didn't get to me until after 6 pm as he was just starting a complicated design on another client. They did have someone come over and start the removal of my current dip (soak and file), so at the very least I was receiving some sort of service. Tony did an excellent job on my ombre nails, something I had been wanting to try for a while. So if this is based on nails alone, I'd give them 4 stars. When I got home I still had to do some additional shaping but they came out how I wanted them. The customer service however was sub par at best. Tony didn't really take the time to even speak to me before, during or after the appointment outside of ringing me up. As a first time client I would've appreciated some sort of communication, even if just a "thanks for waiting" since he didn't get to me until almost an hour after my scheduled time. So customer service definitely is closer to a 3. Also, online dip ombre nails are listed as $65 but they charged me $70 with no explanation. I don't appreciate those sorts of business practices. So, minus 1 star for the price difference, and an additional star for the lack of customer service. However, again, my nails did come out nice so that ultimately is what's important! I'd consider visiting again as a back up place!

This was my first time going here. The salon staff was nice. I had an appointment and was seen very quickly after arriving for my pedicure. I didn't catch the lady name who did my pedicure but she was very detailed with the polish. Lily did my nails and she did a great job. I showed her the design and she nailed it.

Literally my favorite salon in this area. I go to Sue for my pedicures and she always takes her time and is very personable. When I first started coming I had a few different people do my nails and they all do great but I have fallen in love with Vicky and I won't be going to anyone else going forward. If you bring a picture she can replicate it and if you want a freestyle design she's also able to do great with that as well. I'm so happy I finally found a nail home in Alexandria and won't have to drive to Woodbridge anymore.

I had an appointment with Cierra. When I arrived, I was seated right away. The conversation was great. The overall vibe in the salon was very upbeat, which I appreciated. I was also grateful that my design was well received. I have already made a second appointment for my toes. My only regret is that Cierra, unfortunately, will be leaving Sunshine due to the proximity between her job and her home. She will be missed

Disappointment is an understatement. I've been going to sunshine nails on and off for 5 years + and the loyalty and appreciation Vicky (the owner) has for clients OTHER than her OWN is terrible. I got a gel x set done Monday and I called them Thursday to let them know that one of my nails popped off, and that the gel was peeling. They asked if I was able to come in right then and there but I was at work I cant just leave to repair a nail that shouldn't have popped off three days later in the first place! I explained I could be there first thing in the morning on Friday, and they reassured me It would be free of charge since I had been in early that week. Long story short I was still charged for the nail repair because they said there was a three day policy (mind you I called Thursday about my nail) I just wasn't able to drop what I was doing and run over there when they wanted me to. It was an inconvenience, as if driving and finding time in my schedule to go fix something they messed up wasn't enough, lol. They don't know how to treat customers unless you're one of Vicky's "OG" clients who's spending 300+ on nails. SIDE NOTE: These are the nails I asked for and this is what I got. Hope this helps.

Again, I highly suggest making an appointment which seems easier to do through Instagram. The facility is now how it was pre-covid- no more dividers between pedicure and nail stations. I believe masks are still required. Also, a woman who cleans the facility still wipes everything down with an alcohol based cleaner when clients are finished being serviced.

Funny enough I was referred to Kieu by a colleague-- her work was amazing. I booked for Saturday 3pm. The receptionist called and mentioned she got a cancellation. I told them I am in Fairfax so it would take about 40 minutes so I'd be there around 2:30 at the earliest. She said that's fine, anytime before your appointment would work! So I got there at 2:43pm and after settling in off rip she said we will no be able to do the designs. She said her time slots are only 1hr 15 min and she has another client in a hour. since I was 15 minutes late and I clarified you all requested me to move my set appointment for 3pm up to accommodate you. I told her it would take me 40 minutes (Coming from Fairfax). There was no consideration or professionalism, just dismissal. Mind you this is my first impression of Kieu. The excitement has vanish from this interaction, sunshine nails this should have been handled way better.

Went here to get my nails done because of another shop not doing a good job. I had a fill in and 2 nails replaced also a pedicure. My boyfriend got a clear manicure and pedicure. Price was a couple dollars cheaper than the place i went to before. Great experience. Very busy but they have numerous people working there so that is no issue. I love the over all experience here and i will be back. I will recommend this shop

I followed my nail tech of many years here.... and they do not disappoint! My nail tech is "Jay", she is a beast at recreating anything you show her! Jay also can freestyle which always is amazing...I get Gel X nails every 3 weeks and it lastsssss. Jay's work is top tier! I use "Hanna & Liz" for my pedicures. Both techs take their time with you and you will leave with well groomed feet! My feet are done for a full month, and that's big for me! The atmosphere is very calm/relaxing, and the music is always on point! Check them out!!

Checked this place out at a friend's recommendation. Everyone was nice enough, but I wasn't super impressed with the service of the actual pedi and mani. Here's why: I had a picture of the design I wanted on my nails, but they wanted to do the pedi first. That's fine but I like my toes to match my nails so wanted to confirm they could do the mani design in order to pick a color for my toes. They looked at the picture of the design and said no problem. Guess what, when it came time to do my mani they didn't have the right supplies. So we went with a different design and now my toes don't match my nails and I'll have to change the polish myself. I'm extremely annoyed at this and gave them this feedback as I was leaving. My other issue is the amount of drilling that was done to remove the polish and smooth the nails. I'm really concerned at the condition of my nails under the acrylic. Also, the tip John replaced is sticking straight out instead of curved as most tips do. Tony ended up doing my mani and when I asked him about this, he said the curve comes when he adds the acrylic. Now I've been to enough nail salons to know that isn't right. So I was annoyed at that. Lastly, I got an acrylic fill and it's extremely thick. It's pretty, but way too thick. The price for a regular pedi was $30, and acrylic fill with design was $57. This is the right price range, but I'm way too particular about my nails to return.

I give this place two stars just because I'm really happy with the gel pedicure. I love how my toenails look like. What I'm not happy with and I am super disappointed is my finger nails. I usually go to my fav salon in DC, but I couldn't make it to DC this time, so I've decided to try Sunshine nails and get refill there. That was the biggest mistake. I've tried to explain what I don't like about the nails, but the lady couldn't/didn't want to fix it. I wanted refill and my middle fingers had nothing on it since I broke my nails before. At the end I told lady that the C curve on middle fingers look completely different and the nail color is transparent comparing to other fingers. She tried different color then it also didn't work. She told me they don't have pink powder like I did have on other nails, so it's going to be transparent. She didn't inform me about it before and I told her I want all my nails the same color. I just gave up at this point and told her that I guess we can't do anything and I just wanted to be done with it. I don't go to the nail salon to leave unhappy and I don't remember last time I got my nails done that badly. You probably can't see it from far away but I pay attention to the detail. I just wasted my money and I have to go to someone else to redo it. Just look at the pictures.

My first visit was about one month ago. I found this salon online and ultimately chose it out of all the salons I researched due to the positive reviews I'd seen online. I'm happy to say that this is my new favorite nail salon! I've only gotten two fills since being new to the area, but both were great experiences. My first fill was done by Lynn, who was very nice and sweet to me! The second fill was done by Jenny, who was also very nice to me! I normally get my nails done solo since I'm new to the area. Both of these ladies were kind and respectful and didn't make me feel uncomfortable during both visits (we all know how awkward it can be when you go alone!). Lynn and Jenny also did great jobs on my nails. I wish I had a picture of Lynn's work, but I do have a decent picture of Jenny's (wish it was more clear for review purposes). I am planning on calling them again tomorrow to make my third appointment for a new fill! I love going here!! read more

I recently came in for a gel polish change, no pedicure because I had gotten a pedicure 2 weeks ago so I needed a touch up. As everyone knows gel polish lasts a lot longer than regular polish but my toes are are already chipping and one of my toes completely has no polish and it's only been 7 days! I also wear only open toed shoes and I barely leave the house so the gel couldn't be damaged. This is my second bad experience with getting my feet done and not getting my money's worth. Great nails but terrible pedicures I do NOT recommend you go here to get your toes done because in a week your toes will look terrible even if it's gel. I am so disappointed and hopefully someone from the store reads this and does something because I do love sunshine but I am tired of being disappointed. read more

First let me say I love my nails. Lina did an amazing job. My problem comes with the cost... $120! It went from a gel full set to an extra $60. Possibly due to the design and stones but I have never paid this much for nails and I get designs and stones often. I decided to try Sunshine bc I heard they do amazing work. I think they charge for everything. Every little thing. When I got my pedicure by another lady I just wanted a basic pedicure. The lady told me it was $75. I was confused bc it said $35 on the sheet. She was quoting $7 per foot for callous removal, gel polish and a foot massage. I don't give a dang on about a foot massage. I have athletic feet and she kept telling me gel polish would cover my yellow nails I'm like so will regular dark polish. I just told her don't worry about anything other than the basic peroxide and from there she seemed less interested in my pedicure. When leaving I noticed my big toe polish was messed up as well as my pinky toe. I was there almost 3 hours and just didn't feel like saying anything else. It's also crowded in there given the guidelines bc of COVID but I made sure I stayed to myself even though it wasn't 6 ft, let alone not just between us but the techs as well. This is a good shop just too compressed and overpriced. But again I love my nails and these suckers gonna last until they fall off for that $120! I also had to come home and put liquid gel over my stoned bc I know the glue she used wasn't going to hold these stones on my nails and she didn't put any coat on them. Only around them read more

I arrived a little early for my appointment but they were able to accommodate me. I read the reviews prior to going and everyone raves about Vicky and John so I was kindve nervous to try anyone else However,Camry did an excellent job with my SNS! They really have a bountiful supply of gel polish and not too many sns colors but gel doesn't too well on my nails but I will definitely go back to explore more designs ! read more

The technician did an okay job. Didn't like the fact that they take pictures of your feet without asking The tech did delete the picture when I asked, but I had to delete it from her albums completely as she acted as though she didn't understand when I asked her to also erase the picture from her "recently deleted" folder. She claimed that the manager asks for proof of the work they did at the end of the day. read more

I have only had excellent service at Sunshine Nails. My mani looks amazing when I leave and lasts for weeks with no chips or broken nails. My pedi was a little less perfect but has similarly lasted for weeks. I wouldn't go anywhere else in Alexandria. read more

Tony is the man!! I've seen other nail techs here and they're all very consistent in quality and care but Tony is a perfectionist. Always quick even though they're super busy, and you don't ever really ever have to worry about whether your tech will be able to do long nails, or have the materials for the designs or colors you want because they have it all. Designs do get pretty pricey because literally everything is charged a la cart but honestly I've never had a single bad experience here. For the more complicated designs, I think you may have to see one of the techs who can do them like Vicky. But if you're just looking for a simple, quick, and quality long acrylic nail set, Tony is always a solid choice. His technique and shaping is so on point it appeases my nail OCD. The shop is kind of in a weird part of town, but it's clean and modern on the inside. Highly recommend! They do accept walk-ins but honestly suggest booking an appointment so you're not waiting to be squeezed in because it's a busy shop. read more

Ive been to Sunshine Nails before and had a pretty good experience but its quite far from me so I just kept it in the back of the mind for an emergency. Today, I had an emergency. Im extremely picky about my nails and I really dont like just anyone touching them. John is who I requested to see and I must say he did a really great job. He took his time and made sure to shape and paint very well. I definitely would return to him! My only feedback would be to double check with the client to make sure the shaping is up to par/perfection,because when I got home I noticed a couple nails were slightly imperfect: but like I said Im very very picky. I still give the place 5 stars and I will be going back next time I find myself willing to drive to that area! Thank you John! read more

Spend 4 hour there Saturday April 7, the guy who start doing my nails did a horrible Job, one of his coworker got closed to see who he was doing and she get surprise or how ugly and bad shoe my nails have, she took my hand and start doing one my nails, but I guess she needs more clients and she send me to another person, This person finish my nails and took only 1 hour, but my point is that I spend 2 hours with a person that didn't even finish my nails, dos a horrible job he did one of my nails three times, they have me there for 4 hours and they even care at all, at the end I have to ask for a discount and they response the owner is not here, when the manager or owner was sitting next to cashier, and the end the give 10$ discount for a job that it was not worth $77. I've been coming here on and for 3 years now. Unhappy with the service I received this visit. The tips that Kristina placed were way too big for my nail bed and she put them on crooked. Tammy finished my nails and did the design and this is what I was left with. Tee did my pedicure which was amazing and she's super sweet. Kristina seemed as if she was in a rush and I was an inconvenience hence the huge tips she threw in my nails without properly sizing and she yelled to the other tech to let her know when her client arrived. Which made me feel even more of a inconvenience. Do I think my nails are worth the $72 I paid for them? No. I am not a confrontational person so I didn't complain but I am so unsatisfied with my experience and Kristina's attitude for the $147 I paid I deserve better service. Again Tee and Tammy are very sweet. But I don't think I will be returning it's too much of a hassle to get in with the techs that are skilled. Overpriced and rushed work! read more

Do not recommend for eyebrow waxing! I follow their Instagram page and came across a video on a technician waxing eyebrows. Hearing many good things, I finally decided to check the place out. I initially booked an appointment with Vicky, she's the owner and she's good at everything she does. I don't think I got Vicky because the technician messed me up!! She made my right eyebrow look perfect and my left REALLY messed up. It was totally uneven and stripped the front too short. I walked out very disappointed. read more

I'm truly disappointed by my visit to Sunshine Nails. I paid $140 for a pedicure and manicure. I drive over an hour to get to this location from my home expecting to be wowed. My nails or toes did not turn out as good as expected. The technician was rushing and inexperienced. I actually had another artist do my designs and she rushed to finish. I would not visit this nailery again. If you do visit make sure you schedule an appointment in advance and ask for the best design artist so you won't experience my same disappointment. For the price I paid I expected more. I've gotten better service for much cheaper and at local salons. I'll stick to my regular nail artists. They may not do all the bling but I feel like a valued customer each time and enjoy the experience. I would not recommend this establishment and give it 2 stars. Overall disappointing. read more

$50. I paid $50 for this. The receptionist was really nice so the employers were nice. I wanted gel & they asked me if I wanted S&N and I understand that it's your job to ask or offer S&N and all salons they do the same by asking how I should do S&N but she definitely not have to give me an attitude when I said no to getting gel its my money and my choice. I wanted them short and squared. I understand that they don't have to be perfect but the lady didn't even file them down how they're supposed to be filed down or even try to get the shape right. $50 for a gel full set manicure it's definitely not worth it here. read more

Recommended by a friend who is a faithful customer..however she wears the coffin shaped jewel nails-me I'm basic gel manicure on my real short numb length nails and basic pedi type chick. So I tried them out today for the 1st time, my nail tech she moved-so I was due now. I called to make an appt because I hate to wait and not know who you're seeing especially never being there. I was booked with Jenny at 3pm. I showed up early and she took me right in. She was very sweet, listen to what I wanted and did it with no attitude. Her polishing technique was good and steady important with gel. Would I go again? Maybe..I wouldn't run back however I'd go back. I do think there are other shops that do the same-just have to find them. So I am still looking for a shop but at least I know about this place. It's looks like all the techs are good, it started to get busy when I left. Make an appointment! read more

Well.. I read several reviews below, and i have to say some people will say and do anything to try and bring a business down. I have been going to Sunshine nails for over 2 1/2 years now. I am a regular customer that's seen bi-weekly. Now... Sunshine nails services all of Richmond Highway, the military base as well as several High schools in the area. There is now way in Blue HELL you think your going to walk into an establishment and think your going to be seen in an efficient amount of time ( Try walmart). I, a regular, has made appointments and still may have a wait especially since the Nail tech that does my nails is (VICKY) whom specializes in extensive nail art. Granted my appt may have been 30 mins ago but you get what you pay for quality, because best believe when i get in that chair I'm takin care of. They take there time to make sure everything is to your liking and they definitely don't mind fixing issues that are on there behalf. Several time i witness customers coming in 1 1/2 weeks after there appointment complaining of chips in there polish and crystal lost. First off, you have on reg polish if you want it to last get gel, then you sat under the UV light for 3 minutes with a hand full swarovski crystals and expect them to last till your next session NO.. You tried it..... Then you have those customer who expect Corner store prices with Boutique quality.. #ReallyBoo.... You request 9,000 things done, the price comes to 10,000 and you expect to pay $32.50. Yeah Ok.. Granted i haven't experienced anyone else on my nails but Vicky, but im always treated with respect and greeted at the door. read more

Ghetto!! They gave me some girl that was clearly not into her job. I had to stop her twice before moving on to the next step. First she was going to apply tips with pink polish residue on my nails. Second had to remind her that she didn't buff the nails on my left hand. She had the nerve to have an attitude but sweetie this shot you should know read more

Two friends and I went to sunshine nails and 2/3 left in love with their new sets. They were very precise the nail tech even asked if I could check my nails because I had almost no critique. They're also very educated and taught me a lot about overlay and acrylics. I didn't even get out the door before I was taking photos and showing them off.Overall I was very content and will be back for my new set!! read more

I came here twice before . First time I got acrylics with big diamonds and a really nice design . It was perfect for my VEGAS trip and everyone loved it ! My second time I got gel with holographic powder . It was really pretty and nice but wen I left I realized one of my hands looked like a dif color than the other one because she put 2 layers of holographic powder on just one of my hands . I still loved it tho! The prices are reasonable read more

So I made an appointment with Camry for full set & pedicure. Camry did a good job on the fullest and coffin shape but she had forgot to cut my cuticle, it look all ruff so when I pointed it out to her she decided to do them but she already put acrylic on my nail so it looked like I needed a fill. She also recommended that I keep my nails long for coffin shape but I told her I type a lot so I like them a little shorter. But I decided to keep them longer and try it. Then when she did my gel nails, they were soooo sloppy. I said something about it so she did them again and they still are sloppy by this time I had to go. Got here at 9am and left at 11am, didn't even get my pedicure because I had to go. Plus I had paid $52 for full set and gel and was unsatisfied. read more

I've been going to this salon for some time now, but ultimately the poor customer service has prompted me to stop coming, and find a new salon to start taking my business to. I made an appointment, and was very adamant on the time since I had to catch flight that afternoon. In the past when Ive scheduled appointments, they always have delays. I try not to get upset over it too much because I am human and I understand things happen. This salon specializes making really creative nail styles, and designs. As an artist myself I get that time can slip away. However it's still ridiculous to me I even have to make this disclaimer since the entire point of scheduling an appointment is to ensure the time slot belongs to you. What's the point of making an appointment if I have to wait 20-30 minutes after the initial time. Knowing this already about them, I stressed that I cannot have this happen this time. I get there, and I'm told it will be an additional 20 minute wait. When I asked why after I clearly specified my time constraint, the lady in the front literally ignored me. I stood up once more to ask for clarification on why this happening again they look at me with a blank look and say "I don't know what to tell you, there's delays it happens". I'm absolute disgust for the lack of basic customer service, or decency. At least apologize or try to make the situation right, offer a discount, gift card.. literally anything would've been better than what I got. I left feeling as if it's my fault, and that they didn't care at all for inconveniencing me. If your a person with a heavy schedule, and punctuality is important to you... do not come here. read more

The talent here is amazing and the atmosphere is always cozy. A very busy shop but I always love my nails! I usually go to anyone because everyone is so good. Definitely recommend and I'm thinking about trying out their lashes too! read more

Today was my second visit, and it wasn't the best... my first time I had a fill done, the nail tech did an amazing job! This time, it was horrible! I even paid extra for gel because I needed to go to work, and gel is always quicker when you're in a hurry. I asked for an acrylic fill and French for the color... nothing was done as expected. The nail shape was off by a mile, and the white polish did not even cover the color of my natural nails underneath! Unfortunately, I do not see myself coming back after this last visit. Seems to be hit or miss. read more

I've been coming here 6+ months now at my past shop I kept having to get full sets every 4 weeks. God bless Kathy and her magic!! She gets me right every appointment. She really pays attention to shaping your nails and making your set last longggggg which I love. I can literally go 5-6 weeks with no issues now. If I could give 10 stars I would. Also with the new renovations that place is so beautiful. I tend to take more videos than pictures of my nails so unfortunately I don't have pictures but definitely go to Kathy. She won't disappoint read more

I absolutely love this nail salon. A friend recommended this salon too me and I haven't stopped going back since. Let me just say if you're looking for a nail salon with reasonable prices and amazon nails then this is the place to go. It's so clean and cute inside and literally all the technicians I've seen are so amazing. Tony is my go to though. I've never had a bad experience with him or once had to tell him to fix something on my nails. Also got my eyebrows done here and I was very pleased! read more

All the nail technicians are good, but VIcki and Phillip are the best (Vicki for waxing too), so be sure to ask for either. Pedicures and manicures are done well, with a lot of cuticle work, and they cut down the part of the nail that causes ingrown toenails. They really do a great job with the pedicure and basic manicure. The spa pedi is even better, and for nails, I don't get the acrylic, but have used the OPI Gelish, and really like this option. It stays on your nails about 2 weeks. The only thing about this product is that as your nail grows out, the layer of polish starts to lift a bit, and for me, it takes a lot of discipline to not start peeling it off! So if you can be patient, this is really a great alternative to acrylics. I am a regular customer! read more

My first visit was a little over a week ago. I got a fresh full set and a pedicure. Vicky did my full set and I forgot the name of the gentleman who did my pedicure. I wish I could remember his name because my pedicure was amazing!!! I also loved that the salon had pedi liners and everything was sanitized. The leg massage was the icing on the cake! Vicki did my nails and was wonderful. I know she is the owner of the salon and I can tell she really cares about her customers and her works. Also, her skills are superb. She hand painted a breast cancer design on my ring fingers and it superceded what I could imagine. Without even realizing it, she took a painful memory and made it into a beautiful design. I certainly appreciated that. I gave 4 out of 5 because less than two weeks and I had to return for a fix. Thankfully, when I went to get it fixed they took care of it with no problems. Then after that, another nail lifted off and another tip broke. Now I do have a short nail bed so I'm thinking maybe I got these a little too long. I'm not sure. But I really liked my first salon visit, I just wished they lasted longer. All of the nails on my right hand are in perfect condition. No lifts, no cracks and doesn't even feel like they need a fill this week. However, my left hand? Totally different story. read more

So it's 2016 and I'm still driving 1.5hrs once a month to see Vicky! Ive been going to her for 3 years! I tried to find people in Richmond but no one is like her. She is a perfectionist and always gives me the best quality. I love her. Seriously. Not only does she provide excellent service, but we talk and she offers advice. For the last year or so I have been going to this nail salon. After traveling far and wide for beautiful nails , I was excited to have finally found a place close to home. If you are looking for great work and beautiful designs Vicky is your girl. She always does an amazing job on my nails!! However , this review is for my last "appointment" that I scheduled. I came to the salon earlier in the week (Wednesday)and booked with another tech since Vicky wasn't available. I got a new acrylic set and reminded her twice that I do not like them thick, I like them very natural looking. I got the complete opposite. I asked for a hot pink color and she chose a baby pink color. At that point I'm just like okay fine. I wasn't happy with the set anyway , and planned to come back and get it fixed. I left unhappy but I NEVER complained. I payed and still tipped without complaining. I know I can be a bit picky... So I saw online that Vicky had an appointment three days later (Saturday) for a polish change. Perfect!!! So I book it and receive a call about an hour later from Vicky. She was double checking to see if I had indeed made the appointment since I was just in the salon earlier that day. I explained to her why I was returning , because I was unhappy with my nails and wanted her to fix them. She said okay see you Saturday !!! 20 minutes before my 3:00 PM appointment on Saturday the receptionist calls and asks me if I can reschedule for 4:30. I was already at the salon and had somewhere to be at 4:30. The receptionist said okay well I will see if I can ask her next appointment to come later. Fine. So I walk in the salon and the receptionist tells me that Vicky won't be available until 3:30 and offered to move me to another tech. I'm like NO! Going to another tech is the whole reason I'm here!! I booked an appointment for a reason. I came for a quick polish change. I'm not asking for a lot. Not to mention I didn't even complain about my previous service. Now I work in the salon industry and I know how busy salons can be. Sometimes you run behind but you work it out. At this point I'm annoyed and even more annoyed because Vicky was sitting right in the front and didn't even acknowledge that I was there. No apology. No nothing. The receptionist didn't even apologize!!! They just looked at me like "oh well". I've never complained when I didn't like my nails, when I had to wait for my tech to arrive to work, when the prices changed , etc. I usually never complain about anything. But since I am a frequent customer and spend money there A LOT , I expected a better attitude from the staff. Vicky does great nails but after that experience and their nonchalant attitude, I will take my business elsewhere. UPDATE: I decided to give the salon another try and I am very pleased!!!! They seem to have more nail techs and things have gone more smoothly. I make my appointments way in advanced and so far haven't been turned away again lol Vicky is the best!!! read more

My nail tech, Wendy had…read morea lovely personality and did really well on my pedicure but the damage she did to my nail bed from overusing the e-file is really upsetting and I do not think I can return here despite how close it is to where I live. It will take atleast 3-6 months for the nail damage to grow out. Posting a before and after picture for your reference. Update: it's the next day and my nail is already breaking and snagging thanks to the misuse of the e-file on my natural nails. This will be a long process to undo the damage that has been done.

N & J Nails is the rare exception. After visiting, you almost feel obligated to leave a 5-star review because they've earned it. For those who may not know, Tina and Ben haven't retired. They've simply moved on and created this wonderful salon. We weren't previous clients, but their reputation definitely preceded them. On a Saturday around 4:00 PM, my wife and I decided on a spur-of-the-moment manicure and pedicure date. Anyone who regularly visits nail salons knows that's usually a recipe for disappointment. Either the salon is fully booked, the wait is outrageous, or you end up with the technician nobody else wanted. Thankfully, luck was on our side. I went online and found only two appointment slots remaining. We selected our services, submitted the request, and within five minutes our appointment was confirmed. Shortly afterward, we received a phone call confirming everything and letting us know we could even arrive a little earlier if we'd like. Our appointment was scheduled for 5:15 PM. N & J Nails is located in Alexandria, just a few minutes from Potomac Yard and on the same block as Founding Farmers. Depending on traffic, the 9-mile drive from our home can take anywhere from 20 minutes to over an hour. Thankfully, we made it in just under 30 minutes. Parking was easy. There is both street parking and garage parking available. We chose street parking and paid $4 for two hours, but learned that garage parking can be validated. When we arrived, we were greeted by the same gentleman who had called to confirm our appointment. It wasn't the typical "you're the last appointment of the day, let's get this over with" greeting. It felt like they had genuinely been expecting us and were happy we were there. We were offered beverages and snacks, then settled into the massage chairs for our pedicures. My wife worked with Tina while I had Linda. After reviewing the menu and confirming our selections, they made a few recommendations and got started. My wife chose a spa manicure and spa pedicure with gel polish and builder gel to help strengthen and grow out her natural nails. My service included callus removal, nail trimming and shaping, cuticle care, orange slices, a sea salt and mint mud foot mask, relaxing massage treatments, oil lotion massage, and hot towels. The total before tip was approximately $250 for both of us. Before Linda began, I warned her that I'm extremely ticklish. I usually end up asking technicians to skip the foot massage because it's never enjoyable. Not this time. For the first time ever, I was actually able to enjoy a foot massage. Linda clearly knew exactly what she was doing. There were a couple brief moments during the callus removal that tickled a little, but compared to every other pedicure I've received, it was minimal. The scrub, water temperature, calf massage, foot massage, and overall technique were absolutely perfect. The finished pedicure was flawless. Smooth feet. Perfectly trimmed and shaped nails. No pain. No bleeding. No rushing. What impressed me most was her attention to detail. Even after I would have been completely satisfied, she continued checking, refining, and perfecting her work. She clearly takes pride in what she does. The manicure was equally impressive. Every nail and cuticle received the same level of care and precision. Nothing felt rushed. Everything looked clean, polished, and professional. The hand massage was fantastic as well. I actually started writing this review on Saturday but intentionally waited until Monday to finish it because I wanted to see how everything held up. Two days later? Still perfect. My wife wrote her own review specifically for Tina, but she was equally impressed. Both Tina and Linda were exceptional. Throughout the appointment we shared laughs, had great conversation, and by the end it felt less like visiting a business and more like spending time with people who genuinely care about their clients. Even Ben stopped by toward the end and joined the conversation. That's what makes N & J Nails special. The services were excellent. The salon was spotless. I am 9 months pregnant and was kindly greeted with water and a snack, and despite being early, I was quickly shown to my table for my manicure done by Trang. She did a lovely job, and gave me the perfect nail shape with my builder gel manicure. I enjoyed my time there so much, that I decided to stay and get a pedicure as well. It was very relaxing and my toes look perfect!! Prices are fair, and they run discount specials all the time. It was also super easy to book online, which I appreciated. This is easily my new favorite nail spot!

They offer several self care and body care products and I loved the serene playlist that was playing throughout the studio during my wait. I booked a pedicure ($56) as a walk in. Jenn who provided my service made me feel comfortable and relaxed and the pedicure was great. I loved the hot stone, towels, and massage during my pedicure. Easy to check out and provide gratuity to the staff via Venmo. There is paid street parking. I loved how bright the studio is and it is a more intimate space their the larger Tysons location.

i came in because it was one of the first salons suggested whenever i googled salons nearby. i came…read morein and the lady in the front was nice and helpful, but then i sat down for the pedicure and a younger girl started preparing it. it was evident she's new, and was getting guidance from the lady that was in the front. but then after the first minute or so she didn't get any more help. she was moving very slow, and that makes sense if she's super new. but also... she should have consistent supervision. another customer walked in 5-10 minutes after she started my pedicure and asked for a mani/pedi... by the time she was getting her toes painted my tech JUST started the massage. it was 50 minutes in by then. two other technicians walked by multiple times. looked and saw how long it was all taking and didn't say a word. they went to the back and started laughing a bunch. the front desk lady left the building at this point. i had to direct the girl and tell her what needed to be done. my leg and foot massage was only about 70-90 seconds long (the main reason i even get pedicures). ultimately a huge waste of $55+ also i asked her to make my nails short and flat.... she made them round. when i pointed it out she goes "but you said to make them short?" and proceeded putting clear polish on. finally... painted with the white polish getting it all over the skin. tried taking it off the skin with a brush but it was on too long. then started putting the top coat on. DO NOT GO HERE. They are rude and unproffessional and will overcharge. GO TO ARTISTIC NAILS IN SPRINGFIELD ask for Tom or Hana. Sunshit charges you extra for the simplest of things. Techs must still be in training or something. And their customer service is horrible. I spent $200 in there on a simple full set and pedicure with a SIMPLE rhinestone design. 3 hours after i left ALL BUT 3 of my stones fell off. So I had to go back the next day to get them fixed all for them to roll their eyes at me like it was MY fault their work is crappy. A few days later my stones fell off AGAIN. I called the shop to complain and the rude ass manager tells me "well you need to go where you normally go we cannot help you". Now if i show up and slapped her with my missing stone hand I bet she would help me then! You damn right im going to my normal tech because I NEVER have these issues with my Tom. In this whole salon they have ONE nail tech who does decent work and even then she could use some improvement. Everybody else needs to go back to training. Starting with the dummies answering the phone. And to think I have sent 3 of my customers at work to them! One customer came back saying she was not impressed im like honey neither was I. The only reason I gave them a try was because on IG they look good and I needed my nails done last minute for an event. Thats what I get for cheating on my nail tech smh never again.This shop is a knock off to my normal spot thats why they keep losing customers. For this shop to act like its my fault for coming to them and not theirs for doing poor work is crazy.If you dont have high standards for how you'd like your nails then this may be the shop for you. If not dont waste your time. Go to Tom at Artistic Nails and tell him Dai sent you. I promise he will change your life for the better and for a better price. Sunshine my ass smh read more

I just moved to Alexandria, i was looking for a nice little salon - that had to be within my budget AND relatively close to home. did a lot of searching on yelp and decided to check out SUNSHINE. And am I glad I did! :) Vicky, the owner, is uber sweet and very professional. Thoroughly enjoyed chatting with her, which made the Full-Set Acrylic experience far less painful! The pedicure one of the other ladies so professinonal, she NEVER hurt me, in fact, I feel refreshed and spunky with my newly painted toes when I walk out. The place is clean, the staff is nice and the price is affordable...I am definitely going again :) read more

After coming home from getting my nails done elsewhere days ago. One of my acrylic nails chipped and I didn't like my color anymore. I went into Sunshine nails, was nicely greeted at the door, and for Visual appearance the holiday spirit is alive ! Beautiful salon! They lady not only fixed my broken nail but reshaped all of them to match. For $11, literally look like I got a whole new set. Will be coming back soon :). Overall I would like to say the ladies were very determine for perfection and to make sure my nails were how I wanted It. read more

I have gone to this salon for 5 years, recently I've been very disappointed with the service I've received. On 3 occasions in the past few months I've left feeling horrible about the outcome of what I've had done. Maybe it's just time to move on. Vicki is nice but she goes through a lot of technicians some not so great. I've moved and traveled an hour to get back to this salon, for Vicky and have just been disappointed. Cindy did an excellent job on my fingernails and pedicure! This isn't something I typically do only because I haven't had the most pleasant experiences. After a pedicure, I shouldn't have to go home and buff my heals because they're catching on my sheets especially since that's not the case going into the salon. Two weeks later and my feet are still smooth and soft, and polish isn't flaking off. I'll definitely see Cindy again! read more

My daughter and I went to Sunshine Nails & Spa for pedicures. We wanted a relaxing time together and got just that. Sunshine Nails & Spa was clean, quite and the staff was very professional. The pedicure was the Aromatherapy pedicure which was fantastic. They used yummy smelling scrubs and creams and the massage was very relaxing. The gel polish was meticulously done.
