Hate leaving a negative review, especially because this business was recommended by a close friend, but my experience- after today after being a customer since 2016 was absolutely horrible -high way robbery. My two car garage door was dragging up and coming down hard. The tech told me I needed a complete restoration to save the life of the motor. Quoted me $1,700 to what I learned now was to replace the cables and rollers. It was not the service he claimed to perform. I was concerned about the cost- researched online for the repair he recommended but found nothing that came close to the $1,700 quote. I decided to check in with my contractor after I authorized work, he questioned the tech about the cost of service over the phone. I sent my contractor a video of the service tech said he performed. Contractor told tech parts would be at the most $300. So Sunwest was charging me $1,400 for labor??? That's just unethical! I'm attaching their "bill of sale" that simply lists the condition of my garage door -not the work they claimed to be performing. On top of the ridiculous up charge the vendor never offered me the least expensive repair option of around $500 that's listed. I again questioned the cost and expressed that I could possibly get a new door for that much money. The tech went as far as telling me a new door, after Covid and prices rising, would cost me $6k. My contractor said he would get a complete new system installed for under $2k. In the end I refused service and asked them to restore my garage door as it was. The tech got his boss on the line and asked me to talk so we could come to some sort of discount. I refused to do business with them. And when given clear proof of their wrong doing they walked away without charging a service fee I thank my contractor who saved me from this scam of a company who in the end apologized for the over charge and didn't charge me for the mediocre job performed. read more

After getting a quote from a competitor (where I would have had to sell a kidney) I was referred to Phil and Sunwest Garage Door. I left a VM at 530p on Friday and to my delight, got a return call by 5.40p! Phil provided a very reasonable quote over the phone and I was able to schedule service for the next day. Gisele from the main office kept me informed about Craig's arrival, especially since he missed the intended windows of service time slot- he got stuck on an earlier job. No biggie but we had a time constraint in the late afternoon. Craig arrived and did two complete installations, reprogrammed two cars, remote controls and an outside key pad. He was able to meet our time constraint. Craig was super professional, friendly and knew his stuff. Our new LiftMaster units are Uber quiet and work like a hot damn! Sunwest Garage Door did a fabulous job with our new garage door. Our home was built in 1939, so the garage opening was not a standard size. They were able to make it work. Gisselle was very knowledgeable about the installation process and answered all of my questions. Craig, the installer, was so polite and respectful of our home. He even swept out the garage since we still had dust/debris left over from the ongoing home renovations. Sunwest installed our current garage door opener. (Approximately a year and a half ago). There was an inexplicable issue with the wall button no longer working. I called Sunwest, they sent out Craig, who was the person who originally installed our unit. Craig took a look at the issue, asked me a few questions about any work we may have done on the wiring. (We don't touch anything like this on our own). He noticed a small issue related to previous alarm wiring that was causing the problem. It was fixed in minutes and he did not charge us. Our neighbor drover her car through our door, so I called at least a dozen companies for an estimate. Sunwest was the only company that could match our door to our association specs. Unfortunately, we had to order the door to be custom made, which took about 5 weeks due to all of the latest shortages. Natasha in the office kept us up to date on the order process, then set up the install appointment once arrived. Jason and Josh installed the door, tracks and opener. They were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the product installed. They cleaned up after themselves and left the garage cleaner than they found it. Contacted business yesterday. Spoke to scheduler who provided me a tentative quote/estimate day for later this week, then said she had something sooner, which I agreed with for today, 1-5 pm. She also texted me some photos of possible styles I was interested in getting for my new garage door. I was thoroughly happy for the earlier timeframe. Today at 4:10 pm, I texted her to confirm someone was still coming. She called me and said she recalled our conversation from yesterday, but she did not write down or enter that appointment information into their books. Nor did she schedule anything into their books for later this week. She tried to explain to me that she was the only one in the office, etc. I told her, "One call and one customer at a time." My garage door wouldn't open, I called and spoke with Natasha who was very helpful and said I would be the first call and she would let me know when the repair guy was on the way. She called and Craig showed up about 20 minutes later. I told him my problem and he said it might be the coupler and he would change it out. He tried that and it still wasn't working. So he suggested a new garage door opener. I said yes since mine was last installed in 1997. Craig was friendly, professional and Installed my new opener.
