A hinge on my garage door broke, causing a wheel to pop out and the garage itself to come off the tracks on one side. Guy answered my call and arrived within 1 hour. He explained the damage so that I understood what happened, gave me a repair cost estimate (which was fair), and promptly made the necessary repairs. He then recommended that because of the age of my garage door/parts, I should replace the springs, end-bearings, and drums in order to avoid risk of future damage that could be worse. He gave me an estimate on the cost of replacements/service and I took his recommendation. Guy was able to complete the replacements very quickly and then took the time to explain to me exactly what repairs/replacements he completed. He was also able to install a wireless keypad that I had requested. In total, the repairs, replacements, and payment took 45 minutes. The pricing was very high, and screws and other debris were left in my garage by the installer. Last week I had a rude awakening as someone hit my garage and pushed the door in about 6-8 inches. Per usual, I called multiple garage door companies for quotes and info. One of the first things I try to sense is if they are honest. Not only does the reviews vet their honesty but I can personally vouch for John and his company. After john inspected the garage, he gave me a couple of options which one was to fix the damage railings or to provide new ones. *This review is strictly for their custom gates not Garage Services* I reached out to this company as they had great reviews on Yelp and I was looking for a new custom pedestrian gate for the front of my home. They sounded like they knew what they were doing. I talked through my original idea and scheduled the consult. The team that showed up (on the 22nd) was an outside company that has no affiliation with the company other then is a preferred vendor. So note THEY do not do the gates, they simply call a vendor to go out there. This was a surprise to me and was not disclosed till this team showed up. After talking and looking at where the gate would go, they sold me on an all metal gate over the mixed material (metal/wood) I had originally wanted. I asked 2-3 times about price and they said not to worry that it would be the same as what they quoted. We drew up the design, I gave them all the door hardware, gave me a lead time of 2 weeks and they were on their way. The next day I get a call from the office saying that there is a 30% increase in price. After much back and forth we settle on a 15% increase. I figured it would be worth it. I then get a txt 2 days later (24th) of a photo of the completed gate. I thought, wow they are good! But i noticed a few things were off, specifically that the hinges were installed on the face instead of the side like most doors. They said that it was due to the weight of the door and that they would change it but to call them back to repair it when they break. So I just said ok... The install gets changed a few times due to the 4th and they end up installing on the 3rd. (Original lead time was install before the 4th, so nice that it was on track.) at first glance everything looked great and we went on our way because we had plans and they had just called the night before to reschedule. They said we didn't need to be present so we just kept on schedule. When we got back and looked at the gate more, we noticed how many corners were cut. No wonder why it only took a day and a half to complete. This is supposed to be a security door, the hinges were partially welded, the metal face that goes against the door strike was tack welded in place, all kinds of metal weld deberes that hadn't been wired brushed were left and none of the cross members were welded on the top or the bottom of the bars. Pretty much only 1/3 of this gate got welded. We got it powered coated so now we are stuck with all the flaws. O yes and I looked into that hinge placement, only maters when you use lower quality ones, not the heavy duty ones that are supposed to be used for security doors. I brought all this to the attention of the team and never had anyone from management call me. Only ever spoke with the receptionist, who was very nice. They gave me a 15% discount. So if you remember above, there was a mark up after our first meeting, we were back to the original price. So all and all I got a 1/3 welded custom metal gate for the original price that was quoted and lots of headaches to go with it. I would tread lightly for custom gates here. read more

Called in and given a quote of 125 for single spring garage or 175 for two springs set, plus 98 for service. I did price shopping and cancelled my other appointment because this quote was cheaper by 30 bucks. Employee arrives and says it's 179 per spring. I told him that was not quoted on the phone. I told him that I will have to go elsewhere. He tried to charge me a service fee and I argued back. I had a pediatrician appointment that I couldn't reschedule so I negotiated the price down a bit. Then said the price was only available if I paid cash. The employee was not friendly and left the broken springs on the ground near the steps instead of throwing them away. It was a hot day and I just got home from doing errands. I opened my garage door, drove in, and pushed the button again to close it when the door just dropped. The arm connecting the door to the actual garage door opener came apart and truthfully, I didn't know what to really do. Friday morning started with a loud bang, and after looking around the house, I noticed that the spring in the garage door snapped. Since I wasn't in a rush, I had John come by Saturday morning. It was an easy replacement of the springs for him...after hearing him explain the quality and longevity of the springs, I opted for the upgrade because it was easy to see the difference in quality and size of what I had and what I was going to upgrade. OC Garage Doors came out to our home to replace the 2 springs on one of our garage doors back in early June. We got the better/higher-end springs of the 2 options we were given and spent nearly $800. Less than 2 months later, there is a very loud noise that sounds like something relating to the tension in the springs (or something else). Since I am not in the garage door business myself, I called to have them come back out to take a look and repair/fix the issue. John (who is apparently the owner) basically told me to spray some lubricant on it, without knowing what is happening or wrong with our garage door/springs. We backed into the garage door in our haste to leave the house this week. I called the original garage door company that installed the door 10 years ago because their sticker is still on my garage wall.
