I left a message on a Sunday evening and first thing on Monday Blayne texted me and said he would do his best to make it out that afternoon. I so appreciated the communication and updates on the timing and they showed up that afternoon right on their estimated time. I appreciated that he took a look at the belt and inspected the rest of the unit. Instead of trying to upsell me, he simply gave me my options including replacing the belt or the unit as a whole depending on what I was most comfortable with. I appreciated his integrity and honesty in letting me know that although it was an older unit he wasn't pushing me to buy a new one since it was in good shape. He only wanted to let me know I had options. He charged me a fair price, right on his estimate and he and his son David replaced the belt, and then went the extra mile for no additional charge in doing some door adjustments and inspected the system again as a whole. I would absolutely recommend L&S to anyone in Orange County looking for a great family-owned business that takes their profession, customer service and courtesy, and reputation seriously.

From the moment Denys heard the garbage attempt to open then quickly close, he knew what the problem was! He was able to manually open the door from the outside and confirmed that it was indeed the coils and tension wires. He gave me options of replacement materials - from low cost to more expensive - and allowed me to determine my price. He even showed me his price table. No hidden fees, no upsell, just full transparency! Easy! After I made my choice, he began the work which had challenges since I had something blocking the access to the coils. I was concerned about the cost- researched online for the repair he recommended but found nothing that came close to the $1,700 quote. I decided to check in with my contractor after I authorized work, he questioned the tech about the cost of service over the phone. I sent my contractor a video of the service tech said he performed. Contractor told tech parts would be at the most $300. So Sunwest was charging me $1,400 for labor??? That's just unethical! I'm attaching their "bill of sale" that simply lists the condition of my garage door -not the work they claimed to be performing. On top of the ridiculous up charge the vendor never offered me the least expensive repair option of around $500 that's listed. I again questioned the cost and expressed that I could possibly get a new door for that much money. The tech went as far as telling me a new door, after Covid and prices rising, would cost me $6k. My contractor said he would get a complete new system installed for under $2k. In the end I refused service and asked them to restore my garage door as it was. The tech got his boss on the line and asked me to talk so we could come to some sort of discount. I refused to do business with them. And when given clear proof of their wrong doing they walked away without charging a service fee I thank my contractor who saved me from this scam of a company who in the end apologized for the over charge and didn't charge me for the mediocre job performed.

It was time to replace it with something sturdier and less likely to warp, shrink, fade. I did a lot of research on what materilas would best hold up to the brutal So Cal summers we have. I also had to keep within the Architectural guidelines of our HOA for fences. I found a company in Orange, CA, called SoCal Gates. I established contact with the owner, Ray, who is a really knowledgeable and personable guy to work with. We scheduled an appointment for him to come to our home to show us color samples of the composite material we would choose for him to use in our steel framed gate. Ray arrived, and had us look at the different colored composite samples while he took his measurements. He then went over with us the color choices and which ones would intergrate best with our home's exterior colors, including the tiled roof and front entry door and garage door. He explained how he visualized the gate would look, once mounted. We agreed on the materials and and the price. He mentioned that his installation pricing included the removal of the gate from the cinder block wall it was attached to, but did not include the removal of the old fence post or the haul away fo the old fence. After hiring another fence company to remove the fence post, back fill with concrete and haul away all of the old fence, Ray told he would've done it had I specifically asked him, for an extra charge. In fact, he told me how to remove the old post myself, so that gave me the impression he would prefer to just to install the gate with the old fence gone and the area prepped for his installation. After the HOA approved my gate plan, It only took a few weeks for Ray to build our gate and to schedule a date and time for the installation. On the day of the installation, I watched Ray assemble and install my agte, He is meticulous and thoughtful throughout his installation process. He showed me how to change out the composite planks if I ever needed to, and how to program our electronic lockest. We are very happy with out new sturdy, side gate. I would recommend anyone needing a new steel framed gate with composite planking to contact Ray.

I needed two garage doors replaced, one at my home on Bronson St. In Camarillo and one at my daughter's on Glenview Ave., also in Camarillo.I contacted Mesa Garage Doors and they sent Garry Coates to my residence to provide estimates for me for both locations. Garry provided me with a complete installation picture of both sites with detailed construction aspects and associated cost analysis. Because of his truly professional proposals, I chose to execute a contract, on the spot, with Garry and Mesa Garage Doors for both locations. Additionally, He assisted me with my desires for an orderly construction sequence of events! On 02-06-19, Eduardo was dispatched to install both doors for me in Camarillo. He was "all business", and continually at work assembling all the hardware required quickly and efficiently. He took no breaks, and after completing my door, He followed me to my daughter's home and promptly had her door installed as well. Eduardo is obviously a very competent workman and dedicated to his job. We have two slightly large and heavy garage doors. Due to height and weight, each garage door is equipped with four springs. Only one of the spring was broken, but knowing that these springs were installed in 2007 we decided to replace all eight springs as a precaution. Owner of Garage Door Hero, Brandon Smith, suggested we keep four springs that are original length and replace remaining four with slightly shorter length. He communicated mixing spring sizes will increase strength and reduce lifting stress. He shared this change will also reduce the stress motor exerts to open and close our heavy garage doors. After installing new springs, he demonstrated operation by manually opening and closing our heavy doors. He also sprayed the tracks, springs and the hinges. In my opinion, he does not only replace broken springs, he is knowledgeable of his work and understands how to improve the operation of garage doors. He understands the importance of wire thickness of the springs, coil diameter, spring length, how many winds it requires all that he derives based on garage door length, height and weight. His communication is phenomenal. Gives thirty minute advance notice that he is on his way. read more

He helped me decide on the best opener for my situation, and even went to the store and purchased the one I wanted to save time. He only charged me for the installation and was very fair. I have an iDrive garage opener and the torquemaster spring was broken. I had this problem before and had it changed every 2 or3 years. The iDrive motor works fine just the torquemaster spring is horrible. I called Garage Door Hero, he said he can do a conversion with conventional springs. Brandon is a hard worker, professional, and very creative. He managed to have the work done. Now with the conventional springs, I don't have to worry it will break down every 2-3years. I replaced the following: -Springs -Wheels -reinforcement strut -Garage door opener (motor) -clicker install on my garage wall I was charged $2,800 total. In hindsight, I blew it. I was beyond stressed and it was one of many things happening that day. After sharing what I paid with some friends, they called me crazy. Which led me to some research... I'm not exaggerating when I say that my materials cost alone was all at least 4x what they go for online. I got completely scammed by these guys & the worker was super arrogant from the start (first red flag). After he left, he posted a "service/repair" number by the clicker for future problems. Wasn't even the same company he was working for (this one). I got completely scammed & at the end of the day, that's my fault. But here I am sharing the story, save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for garage work. Hoping this doesn't happen to any other honest, hard working people! Im just trying to dial in my first home for my young family, I was pretty furious when I realized I had been taken advantage of, but life goes on!

Called again and spoke to someone that said " company owner is out of the country, and I don't know when he will return. I'm unable to verify your warranty status" . Then I submitted another project inquiry on Yelp, and they stated they were eager to come by and diagnose the issue. These guys do a poor job on the install, then don't honor the warranty . They just want more money from you. The sensors of my unit weren't even installed correctly . Lazy and poor customer service . AVOID THIS COMPANY

Liran knew I was in urgent need of getting it fixed on the day, so he showed up within an hour and explained how the process would work. I asked him to check the motor first to see if it was repairable. He said he would do his best to fix it but since it was over 20 years old, it might need to be replaced. He also told me that if he couldn't fix it, he wouldn't charge me. He showed me the broken part inside the motor and explained that, due to the motor's condition, the garage door couldn't open all the way. However, he was able to repair it enough to get it moving again but just won't open all the way. So I decided to have him install a brand new motor. He replaced everything, including the track, rail, and motor unit, and completed the job quickly. The price was very reasonable and he was communicative throughout the entire process! He's definitely the person to call if you have any garage door issues. Highly recommended!
