The octopus was cut up into small pieces and swimming in red pepper sauce with onions, cabbage & thick slices of jalapeño peppers. It comes with a ball of rice noodles and a bowl of purple rice & beans, which cut some of the spiciness back. Towards the end, we just picked out all the octopus pieces like a treasure hunt in the sea of hot sauce. The pork soup had giant pork bones floating in a flaming red broth and covered in tiny pepper corns. To say that it was spicy is an understatement because even the potatoes and bok choy in it were scorchingly hot! We were lucky to be sitting next to the water dispenser, going back for refills every few minutes. Whew! However, something has happened to the rice. Let me first correct a few things from my previous review. The front awning does have the name of the restaurant on it. Jose Fish Market is not brightly painted or printed on the awning. Second, they have flounder instead of trout. The flounder is still a generous piece of fish for $11 for the platter with rice and peas. This time the rice and peas were not edible in my opinion. I do not know what happened, but something was very very off about the rice. I would rather have the fish alone and would be hesitant to have the rice ever again here. The chicken wings at $10 for four and fries is still a great value and the wings were crispy and great with the hot sauce, even the fries were good with hot sauce.
