A friend of mine lives near this restaurant and suggested we grab some lunch. I don't eat meat. But I do love arepas so I we met up. The smell of the wood burning as you come into the restaurant is very pleasant. It's a nice place, the server will bring you a menu and take your order. My friend ordered the meat pictured. He devoured it. I ordered a cachapa with cheese. It was very filling; maybe a little too much. But I ate it anyway. NOT THE SAME AS GAS STATION ONE! I was excited to try this place but left very disappointed. Order a PEPITO MIXTO and I asked if they are the same as gas station and they said yes. They are not. The bread is different, the pepito comes with pico de gallo changing the entire flavor of pepito, has no lettuce and no papitas. We first tried this restaurant a few weeks ago and loved their super beef rib soup--the portions were generous and worth the price. Unfortunately, our most recent takeout experience was the complete opposite. When we got home, I reheated the soups and was about to cut the meat into smaller pieces when I realized the ribs were tiny--barely 2.5 ounces of meat without the bone per bowl. Totally unacceptable compared to what we had received before. We called several times with no answer. When someone finally picked up, there wasn't really an apology--just instructions to bring the soups back in the rain. Other restaurants, at most, ask for a picture to resolve an issue--never to waste the customer's time by making them return. Back at the restaurant, it was more of the same: no real apology, only an offer to "add more meat." We asked for a refund instead. What should have been comfort food ended up being a waste of time, money, and trust. read more

The food here is absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. That's the only reason I'm giving this place any stars at all. Unfortunately, the ownership/management is ridiculous when it comes to sauces. I purchased a full chicken family meal, and they told me I could only get one sauce of each type unless I paid extra. For a full chicken family order, that policy feels extremely cheap and unnecessary. Great food, but management really needs to do better with customer service and common sense. You should want customers to want to come back, not get frustrated over extra charges for sauces. read more
