Tried this buffet on a Saturday evening, and it was pretty empty. We were greeted and sat as soon as we walked in. We were shocked at the $12.59/person but soon realized you get what you pay for. In my opinion there was not enough main entree options but a bunch of side options available. Like other reviews mentioned, the hibachi section is not open which was disappointing. Ice cream machine was broken as well. Server kept our table clear and drinks full. Restaurant overall seemed fairly clean but felt kind of dark with all the dark wood accents. We will probably be back but not for a while.

I saw the yelp reviews and expected a buffet thats not very good. Honestly, the food was alright! If the price was higher at this buffet, I would understand why people are upset about the quality of the food but I think the quality meets the price. The service was pretty good as well. I mean there isnt much you can do at a buffet but they were really quick with refilling our drinks.

Cold food...few options and no Hibachi available...Yuck!! Granted, it was a bit late, but that's really no excuse.

I always have to wait or ask for someone to make up something on the hibachi. The buffet is great but the hibachi is so so.

I stopped here a few weeks ago with my co-driver before getting back on the road. I had been…read morecraving sushi for a while and found Sake Roll & Grill on Google Maps. To start with the positive, the sushi itself was actually solid for an all-you-can-eat spot. AYCE sushi can sometimes be hit or miss, but the rolls and sashimi here were better quality than I expected. We arrived around 8:30 PM on a Sunday. The restaurant closes at 10 PM and the place was still fairly busy with customers. We were greeted kindly by a host with pink hair and seated near the TV across from the sushi station. Service overall was friendly. Where the experience became frustrating was how early the sushi bar shut down. By around 9 PM, every sushi chef had already broken down their stations. I'm talking fully cleaned cases, wiped counters, and the sushi bar basically closed. There were around five to seven sushi chefs working, so it was surprising to see the entire sushi station shut down while customers were still dining. At the very least it would make sense to keep one or two sushi chefs working closer to closing time, or let customers know something like "last call for sushi is at 8:45." We weren't told anything when we walked in. I've spent about 17 years working in kitchens and culinary, and in most restaurants if something is about to be 86'd or is nearing last call, the staff communicates that clearly to the guests. To be fair, the sushi I did receive was good. What I ordered: Miso soup Two crab salads Avocado salad Snapper sashimi Tuna sashimi Tako sashimi Spicy California roll White Tiger roll Spicy tuna roll Crabmeat roll Cucumber roll And yes, I finished everything. My co-driver was honestly surprised I was going to eat all that, but I don't leave food behind. I even had room for another roll or two. The sashimi and rolls were good quality overall. A few pricing things were a little confusing though. Sashimi costs an extra fifty cents per piece while nigiri does not, even though the only difference is the rice. There is also an eighteen percent charge for wasted food plus fifty cents per uneaten piece. I understand discouraging waste, but the combination of those charges felt a bit excessive. The base AYCE price was around twenty-two to twenty-three dollars, which is fair. However the additional charges can stack up quickly. The miso soup was unfortunately the weakest part of the meal. It tasted extremely watered down, almost like plain broth. My total ended up being around thirty-three dollars after tax, which isn't terrible, but the early sushi bar shutdown and lack of communication made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be. Overall the sushi quality was solid and I'd still come back again. Just give customers a heads up about last call for sushi and this place would easily be a home run.

Most sushi restaurants aim for quiet elegance. Sake Roll &…read moreGrill went with giant sports bar television and hoped the sushi would keep up. This place is a little off the beaten path, but the reviews looked promising, so we decided a small sushi road trip was in order. I walked in expecting the usual sushi restaurant vibe. Instead I was greeted by a television so large it could probably pick up signals from space. When I say massive, I mean it takes up an entire wall. Nothing pairs with delicate nigiri quite like a television the size of a drive-in movie screen. The all you can eat menu is a little limited when it comes to rolls, which was a bit surprising. But the nigiri selection was actually pretty strong and, more importantly, surprisingly fresh. Plenty of options and the fish held up well over multiple rounds. The cooked items were also plentiful, which helps if someone in your group is not fully committed to the raw fish lifestyle. Overall, I enjoyed the food. The service, however, moved at a pace that felt very... deliberate. Very, very slow. Slow enough that you start wondering if the rice is being strategically deployed to fill you up before your next order arrives. Still, the food was good and the experience enjoyable enough to land at a slightly above average four stars. Tip: come with extra time and patience. Settle in, watch a good sporting event on that enormous TV, and pack away some pretty solid sushi. Four stars. A little off the beaten path, a little slow on the service, but good sushi and possibly the biggest TV you will ever see in a sushi restaurant.

What's not to like about eating a sushi roll while Pat Benatar is on the big screen singing Hit Me with Your Best Shot? My wife had the Headbanger shrimp, which I also tried, and it was fantastic. We shared the fried wonton appetizer, which was decadent. I chose to try one of the house special tools: the Crowd Surfer. Very tasty!! Everything we had was excellent. Our waitress and the hostess were both friendly and helpful, kept our glasses full of water, and checked in with us often. If you are looking for sushi in Rome, you should definitely give them a try. Definitely try both sauces, as I couldn't really pick a favorite. My wife ordered miso soup with her entrée and I asked for the ginger salad with mine. Neither of us were terribly pleased. The ginger salad was literally just romaine lettuce and a ginger-flavored dressing. Okay, but could've been better. My wife felt the same about her soup. When it came to the entrees, my wife was elated with her dish (one of the hibachi options), but mine was a little underwhelming. Maybe it's because I chose the Rainbow Roll, which admittedly had a pretty mellow flavor, but the sides didn't help any. The sliced ginger was a little dry and had maybe half of the flavor intensity that I was used to, and the soy sauce (in a Kikkoman bottle, but no idea if that matched the actual contents) was *exceedingly* salty. Usually soy sauce is a good complement to most rolls, but this literally overpowered what little flavor the roll had. For dessert we tried the Mango Coconut Rockstars. It kinda felt like their spin on the mango sticky rice that some restaurants offer. Again, a bit underwhelming. The fried sticky rice stars had decent flavor and texture, but the mango was diced into tiny pieces. They were surprisingly firm and tasted a little under-ripe, almost with a pineapple-like acidity. Our server was pretty good, though it kinda felt like she was rushing us once our dessert was served. The atmosphere was kinda cool. The menus are tucked into vinyl album covers, and each menu has a different classic album cover on the front. There are a few TVs in the place playing old rock music videos (all the same, thankfully), and it added to the nostalgia. All in all, it was okay. We may come back to try some of the other menu items, but it's not likely to be my go-to for sushi.
