Very disappointed with our experience at Super Kids Salon. We had a 10:45 AM appointment and arrived 15 minutes early to ensure everything went smoothly. Despite being early and having a scheduled appointment, we watched as two other customers were taken before us. If appointments are not going to be honored, it defeats the purpose of booking one in advance. What was most frustrating was the lack of communication regarding the delay or explanation as to why others were served ahead of us. When you're bringing a child to a salon, timing matters. We made the effort to arrive early and still ended up waiting while others were accommodated first. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling that our time was not valued. I hope management improves their scheduling and customer service practices so this doesn't happen to other families. read more

I really am appalled by all the "good" reviews on here. Liz did my baby's first haircut and I wish I could go back in time and never come . She was in such a hurry even though I made an appointment. She did a mediocre job and finished in 2 minutes and I'm not even exaggerating when I say 2 minutes. She didn't even bother to clean up the hair after the haircut . Decided to bring my son here after messing up an at home haircut and they did amazing! My son has been hating haircuts at our regular shop lately so I wanted to try a new place. Sadly I didn't get the name of the girl who helped us but she was very kind and patient with us. She was quick and did a great job at blending my bad cut. The place wasn't busy at all on a Friday and they had plenty of toys for my kid to play with while we waited. We also got there super early and they accommodated an earlier appointment. I also love that they don't have the lollipops out on clear sight and ask prior to giving kids a lollipop if it's okay. I've been to a salon where the lollipops are left out and it causes a fight with my son who wants to grab a bunch. Overall I will definitely keep bringing my son here. I placed a same day reservation for my son in the afternoon for a hair cut, which was very easy to do. Upon first glance, the place was clean, spacious and was pretty quiet for a Saturday afternoon. There is a train table with a couple toys on it, so I do recommend to bring your own toys, especially if there's a wait. Victoria did a great job of cutting my son's hair, and listened to our requests to not use clippers. She worked quickly as my impatient toddler was definitely losing his mind. The TVs were a nice touch, but ultimately I ended up playing videos from my phone. I will definitely be coming back here for future haircuts. read more

This place was a 5 star when Liz was cutting hair as she is really attentive and did a great job. She decided to open a another location and we get that is a business decision. The people who know work there now are awful. Her daughter attempted to give our son some lightning bolts but instead gave a squiggly line with a random off centered loop from ear to ear on the back of his head. He had to wear a hat to school until it grew out. One stylist flatly refused to give haircuts that are advertised and was rude about it. It seems like they have a revolving door with stylists who are incompetent gives inconsistent haircuts. Too bad. It was great but now we have taken our business elsewhere. read more

Liz is a miracle worker and the staff is great too. Our daughter had extremely matted, knotted hair. After trying a few other options, we were ready to give up. But, super kids was willing and able and after assessing agreed to do the job! Immediately you can see the high level of skill with usage of tools for the situation. We got a few different options of how to move forward and eventually came up with a nice compromise which turned out better than we could have ever imagined considering how knotted the hair was on multiple sides! This is the only place I take my boys! I moved to the area a couple years ago and was looking for someone that has experience with mixed and textured hair. I found this spot and love it. All of the staff are awesome but I always schedule with Lizbeth, who is the owner. My boys are comfortable with her, they love sitting in their little car or train, and look forward to their lollipop afterwards. The prices are reasonable and they really listen to what you are expecting from the cut. I never feel uncomfortable telling them if I want something adjusted or have questions. read more

I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing. Finding out that the owner was the one who showed poor attitude and service made it even more frustrating. I initially thought it was just me feeling unwelcome, but both of my kids said the stylist was not kind and was very rough--so much that their heads hurt during the haircut. It may have been an off day for her, but it didn't feel like a good or safe experience for children. I would suggest improving customer service, especially when working with children. When I was looking for places closeby to have my son's first hair cut I saw this advertised. It looked so nice from the pictures and a fun place to be for a kid so I decided to take my son. Appointment-only it was easy to get a hold of them and make an appointment at such a short notice. It was hard to find the place at first and the outside doesn't say much about the area but the inside was pretty impressive. It was just me and my son and we had the options of a car, train or another chair that was decorated. We ended up going with the car. Our stylist was patient, and gentle with my son, also asking me what do I think about the cut and if more needs to be done and was nice about directing me when my son was starting to not want to be in the chair. I'm a mom that likes to keep memorabilia so I paid the extra bucks to have them keep a lock of hair and give him a certificate of his first haircut. We travel an hour to come to Super Kids Salon, and even though we were running about five minutes late due to traffic, Liz was so kind and welcoming when we arrived. We never felt rushed at all. Haircuts are usually a very difficult experience for my son, but Liz was absolutely amazing. She was patient, gentle, and incredibly understanding. This was the best my son has done in a long time, and it was completely because of Liz and the way she worked with him. She truly cared about making sure my son left having a positive experience and understood how challenging this can be for families. Cost us $70 for both kids cuts and without a tip. Take your kids to an actual barber for that price and who will do an actual good job. Instead of it being 30 minutes of total service (15min for each kid) is was a total of 15 for both haircuts and it shows. My 5 year old can sit through an entire haircut, my 2 year old was just crying but not thrashing. We have gone here before but many of the ladies have left and we are disappointed in the service. It's one thing to mess up and own it but it's another to mess up and still charge us. read more

After having a terrible experience with my toddler brother at Cookie Cutters, I decided to give Super Kids a try at the last second. When I arrived, they were just about to close up, almost out the door, but stayed open to squeeze my little brother in. Thankful a place like this opened in placer county. There are a bunch of spots that claim that they can do kids hair but this is the only one I have seen that put in this much effort. We had Elana and she was super patient with our son that does not like to have haircuts. She was able to start to clean up the messed up haircut we got from another place and I'm sure one more cut it will look normal. Our daughter wanted the train and my son already used the car. We came to the salon for my 9 month old's first haircut. I asked to take a little off, nothing too short, and showed a picture of what I had in mind. We ended up with a terrible haircut that was jagged and uneven all over. We asked for it to be fixed and this is the result. First off, Liz is absolutely fantastic! She has a true talent when it comes to cutting kids' hair. It is not easy cutting hair, especially a moving child's hair. She still manages to get the job done and tries her best to make everyone feel welcome. The environment is so stunning and fun! She always has a kid friendly movie playing and always offers a lollipop after the haircut! How awesome is that! I have been coming to Liz for the past 4 years. She has been through so much change, especially through the COVID-19 pandemic. Since I have been a customer of hers, she has changed her salon location 3 times. The previous two locations she had was with pheonix and sola salons. For those that did not know, these locations provide small rooms to be rented out, not owned. Now she owns her own shop now. Which is incredible! I admire that through all the hardship she has had to endure, she still rose to the top and was able to open her own shop! I understand how through the hard times there might have been some miscommunication. I wish others could put aside their differences and open their eyes to see the full picture for just a moment, instead of just their own. I read through most of the negative reviews, just because I couldn't believe Liz had anything less than five stars. Most of the one star reviews seemed like they were during all the different shop transitions. I feel bad because those customers are truly missing out. Today we saw Casey at SuperKids salon. This was our 4th time going there, and although nobody has been particularly great, this person was pretty awful. She had zero patience, she sighed a lot, was clearly frustrated when my THREE year old didn't sit perfectly still, or keep his shoulders down without reminding. He of course wanted to play with the super cool airplane he was sitting in, but she was frustrated with that, too. I told her, after a minute or two of obvious frustration, "I think he may look and talk older, but he's only 3". She seemed to understand, but it didn't change anything. I should have said more to her, but there were other people in there, and I didn't want to be THAT mom. Not only was she rude to my child, she did a bad job! The back lines are uneven, one side has a zig-zag mistake, she didn't cut evenly on the bottom with the trimmer. It's not like he was squirming, kicking and screaming. He was sitting relatively still, watching a video on my phone, and occasionally would turn his head. Again, he's 3. My kid was seriously doing great, and he deserved a kind, patient person. If you're frustrated with children, don't work at a salon for children. read more

I like the idea of the place. The theme is fun and there aren't very many options for kids cuts in the area. We chose this place for our son's first haircut. We also regret it. The lady that cut his hair seemingly had no idea what she was doing. I felt like she was kinda aimlessly chopping away at his hair, but I had faith that she knew what she was doing. Boy was I wrong. We showed up a couple of minutes early for our appointment and walked in to lobby and were told "I'll be with you shortly" as they were finishing up another client. We waited over 10 minutes, and were relieved when the stylist finished because our 2 year old son who has never had a haircut was getting impatient. She approached the front counter and told us "I'm actually running behind and still have another one ahead of you" and gestured to the sibling of the child who had just finished their haircut. I said that's okay, we'll go someplace else. She looked absolutely shocked, as though she didn't realize we were already 15 minutes passed our appointment, and she still had another haircut to do. She asked if we wanted to reschedule and we just said no thank you and walked out. We were shocked at how unprofessional this experience was. If she had said when we walked in hey, I'm running behind and have another one ahead of you can you please come back in 45 minutes we would have been disappointed but obliged. Needless to say, we went someplace else (Sterling Shears) that could accommodate us on short notice and were very pleased with the service we received and the haircut itself. It's crazy to think that we made a phone call right after walking out of the lobby frustrated and were able to get our son his first haircut with no appointment someplace else before Super Kids Salon would have been able to cut his hair and we had an appointment. She worked so well with my son who is 2 and has Autism, she was so sweet and patient. At first the way my sons hair was in the front I didn't like (nothing she did is the way his hair is) anyway, she tried different ways to make him look good and was so patient with me as I made decision on his final haircut.
