For essentially the cost of a fast food meal, you get food that is much yummier and has a much greater variety, plus there are veggies. And it's quicker than fast food. And the people who work here are really nice. I love this place. It's not high-end food, of course, but c'mon - it's a buffet! And unlike (say) Izzy's Buffet, ti's a buffet with edible food. If you want inexpensive, reliable, quick comfort food, this is probably the best deal in town. Kids really like this place (and eat for less than the cost of an adult). There's no bike rack, but if you ask they'll let you park your bike in a side room inside while you eat. One note about the prices - it's about nine bucks to eat here before 3:30pm Monday-Saturday, and then about $13 after 3:30 and all day Sundays. (There's seafood during the more expensive hours). This restaurant has the best Chinese Buffet I've ever been to. They have so many selections that it has been impossible to try every dish, even on my second visit here this time. Dishes are kept refreshed constantly, fresh/quality ingredients and unlike most buffets the food is actually warm and NOT luke warm. Variety is King here. Super King, that is. I've had better Chinese food, but Super King is still good, and allows you to experiment. I like that. The veggie fried rice is as good as anywhere else, and where else can I have french fries, potato salad, and a slice of pizza with my chow mein? OK, other AYCE asian buffets like Tin-Tin. But not as good as Super King. On a side note, I also enjoy the cultural experience at Super King. Not only the food, but the people and languages. We love this buffet. We have been there all the time, probably 8yrs till now. The first time, we went there was terrible, so we stopped going there for almost 8months. We heard they replaced a new chief, so gave another shot, not bad at all. However, I have a bit unsatisfied due to the price is changed. It was $13.98/per + drink, and now drink is separated for $2.00 more. So $13.98+$2.00: $15.98/per. Still not bad for the price. I did not say it is good :). On the other hand, if you don't mind driving to spirit mountain casino, there is a buffet there; weekend $18.95+drink:/per. Much more good food, esp seafood and desert. If you can't find a great dinner here, you're either NOT HUNGRY or you hate Asian/Chinese food! I'd stay away from their pizza, however ... even though they occupy the once-famous Pizza Grinder Resturant building. For those who haven't been inside since its remodel a couple of years ago -- WOW. Fantastic job, light and airy in the main room and cozy in the side rooms. OK, the food. If you like Asian foods -- they probably have it. My guess is, because of the size of their kitchen crew, they make virtually everything there from scratch. I'd not be surprised if the butcher their own chickens, pigs and cows, on-site! I don't care for susi -- but a raw-fish eating friend of ours, after sniffing his fish-bait and tasting it said, "Not bad. In fact pretty good!" He went back for fourths. The "fresh Mongolian grill" somehow doesn't measure up to Chang's -- but holy cow -- with all of the seafood, chicken, beef and vegge selections, who cares? I do wish they'd serve their Egg Foo Young at supper -- it's only available at lunch. I could make a meal of it. A word of advice: Wear your expando-pants. And, be tolerant of those from other culures. This place attracts folks from all nations, who love good food and lots of it. read more

I like this place b/c the food is hot and they call out the scabs that pile the plates over and over; yet don't eat their food. . . totally wasting it! I've seen them call out parents when little Timmy is at the food alone. Any place that does this is awesome!!!! I've also seen them have good will towards teens who were short 2 dollars before I could donate a couple dollars to their bill. In short the food is pretty good and the people are awesome! As far as Chinese Buffets go, this one is pretty darn good! All of my food tasted fresh except the cone of my ice cream cone. The dim sum was good and not something I normally see at Chinese Buffets. I wouldn't drive to Portland JUST for this, but I would definitely eat here over my local Chinese Buffets if I was already planning on being in Portland. The only down side is that the restaurant itself could use a little updating. The paint is peeling on the exterior, so be off the lights on the sign are burned out, and our table top had several cracks in it. But the food was quite good. :) read more

With all the selection you have to find something that hits the spot. Mine was the seaweed salad and made to order stir fry. There were lots of misses as I tried their foods but hits as well. Awesome value and crab legs, salmon, there are plenty of items allowing you to make healthy choices here. I went on a Sunday afternoon time, (I don't really remember), but all day Sunday is the same price 12.99 to eat as much as you can. Of course ,since I eat to get full, I don't order any drinks, but I do know that the Chinese tea that my mom ordered was 50 cents. As far as food goes, its good, but not really all that great. When I went, there were no crabs. Not sure if they have it or if the abusers took em all, but whatever it is my family of 5 were unable to spot them in the various times we went to stock up. Also none of the sushi there had raw fish :-( Boo. Their sushi was fine if you are one of those raw fish haters because it certainly catered to that palette. The only unique fish I saw was eel which is also cooked. Their coconut shrimp was okay. It tasted like coconut shrimp, but there was more bread then there was shrimp. Their crab puffs were great! hot and crispy and super good, but that was the only think I actually liked. They also have a Mongolian style grill in which you can put a bunch of raw food and have them grill it right in front of you, but I got so stuffed by that time off of filler sushi that I was unable to try it. Plus side is that there is a variety and it is hot and fresh. We didn't have to wait in line since it has plenty of seating, but the parking not so much. The service wasn't the best, but they were super busy so its understandable. Food is okay, but you'll definitely get full. Not Bad, but not great. read more

It's q buffet. Asian-inspired. People neglect the "sushi," because it's hidden from the rest of the buffet. It's basically 5 or 6 variations of California rolls, but it's consistent. The rest of the food was uninspiring. Sometimes there's crab. Their salmon is good. read more

Good service a decent prices for a buffet. We were there at 2:00 for lunch and I was surprised at how much food was out. There were a wide variety of dishes but many were empty or almost out. The sushi looked very good and was being freshly made. Service was ok but not as quickly as other buffets and for the amount of people that were there I would think it should have been better. Arrived with a buddy around 12:30 PM yesterday to try this new (to us), buffet--and we were NOT disappointed. If you're used to eating AYCE Chinese buffet at a place like the Panda Buffet on McGloughlin, or closed not-to-be-forgotten 'treasures' like the Golden Dragon downtown or the China Moon on Macadam, this place is a giant step up. Everything was fresh, without that 'sitting under the heat lamps for four hours' texture and taste, and there was a mighty huge selection. The baked salmon, while cooked with nary a drop of seasoning, was still very good, and the fried rice was the best I've ever had from a buffet type restaurant like this one. A decent selection of American fare for those who don't care for Chinese is also included, and the dessert table was plentiful, unlike other places of this type. The service was great, the server never let our water glasses get even close to empty--and here is the only reason this place loses a star for me--you have to pay for other drinks separately. *Insert "wah-wah-waaaaah" music* You would think the buffet places would learn that not everyone is going to fall for this. Without paying for those drinks, the price was fair, too--under $20--I'm not sure what it would have been if we'd ordered drinks, but buffet places like this usually like to give ye the shaft with this. On the whole, excellent Chinese food to be had at this friendly ex-location of the Organ Grinder. I visited Super King on a Tuesday night. Dinner was $14.95. We were seated immediately, staff was friendly. The menu wasn't as expansive as I would like, but then again, it was a Tuesday. I will update again when I come on a weekend. The food was good, and they had frog legs! I think i ate four frogs worth. They had an imitation crab/cheese/bake thing that I had never had before, and I ate a ton of it. They had simple sushi rolls, and chinese/american type foods. For Chinese All-you-can-eat, I think its great. great selection, food seems to be always full. Hot and fresh. But, you got to realize that it is All-you-can-eat, so its a lot like cafeteria food. Some of it is bland, but all in all its pretty good grub. I prefer it over other buffets that are Chinese food. Service is a bit lacking on the refills. Last few times I've been there, there has been vagrants trying to get money or dinner from you when you walk in. I don't know why I've not yet written about this place. I've been here quite many times. For lunch buffet (M-Saturday lunch), it's a good deal for the price. For dinner buffet, you better be a big eater (which I am, thankfully) for that $13 a plate deal. But the seafood selection can be so awesome (during the weekend I went there) that it's so worth it (for me). If you're expecting 'clean' Chinese food (no msg, v. little grease, etc--you're out of luck), and when you do go, be ready to eat, I do mean..really ready to eat, those who eat very little (Can't eat beyond 1-2 plates) should avoid the pricy time (all day Sunday or dinner time). They have some nigiris and sushi rolls, they're tiny size, but the taste of the sushi is comparable to sushi land type of sushi (I love the unagi) and do tip. :) read more

I know this place is popular with a lot of people. Who wouldn't love an all-you-can-eat buffet for just $10? But when I tasted the food I wanted very badly to spit it out. In fact, the only thing I found digestible was the green beans. Greasy, heavy batter coatings, terrible seasonings--if it wasn't for the friendly staff I would have left immediately and my two stars would be one. Maybe my standards are too high? But even if this is true, I'm certain this cafeteria-style food would be rejected by any school lunch program as being unhealthy and disgusting by the students, and their expectations are usually low. Absolutely NOTHING was made without the use of boxed, bagged or jarred products, and artificial flavors is "King" when it comes to the desserts. Finally, when your shoes stick to the floors, from the bathrooms to the buffet, you know it's not clean. Nasty! I cannot recommend this "buffet." read more

If you want good hot food and lots of wonderful yummy choices then this is the buffet for you. Inside the smell of fresh seafood, chicken, and delicious desserts fill the senses. Friendly staff accompany you to your table then take your drink order. Then very important decisions await you. I started with the orange chicken which is a five star rating all in its self, hot and sour soup which was excellent could have been a little spicier but still amazing and my all time favorite crab puffs. Now hold on to your seats the crab puffs are made with real crab! The dessert I choose out of the many was the banana pudding made with real bananas and vinalla wafers. This family friendly restaurant has become the place to go when wanting Asian food. Oh and did I mention they also serve sushi. I am not a sushi fan but it looks well prepared. My son started to act up as 3 year olds do and one of the employees just looked at him and said shhhh. I almost broke out in laughter at my sons reaction. After that he behaved. Price wise: moderate, you aren't being overcharged one bit. Drinks are separate, but free refills. Taste: some foods are delicious, other's are very bland; however, they have a wide variety to suit anyone's particular taste. Negatives: Lately there have been loiterers asking for money etc before and after dining, outside. There are a few select waiters that you can obviously tell they hate their job and would rather not be there than to bring you napkins etc. Positives: mostly the different options you have. The steamed rice is actually an asian rice, they have tons of different types of fish to eat, clams, crab legs, oysters, including other fish on sushi. They even have a "mongolian grill" although it isn't very varied (like most buffets with one). Some great desert options, and some you're sure to haven't had yet. Stopped here while on vacation and was craving Chinese food. The area it's in looked sketchy at first but it's welcoming once you're in the parking lot. The food selections were big if you like seafood. Food wasn't very fresh except for the fried rice. The fruit and salad was big, lots of selection to make your salad. All you have to do is look at the parking lot. It's usually full. For the price a pretty decent place to eat. Not top notch Chinese or sushi but pretty good. Been coming here for years. Love the sticky rice, Korean spare ribs, most of the chicken, shrimp and noodles are very good. Nice soft serve with syrups, great dessert choices. read more
